It wasn't that they literally started on fire, it was a chemical process. They were in the hospital for 6 months on a burn unit and needed skin grafts and such. @alphavat the other guy’s point is moot sunlight is sunlight. it’s more symbolic if you will. “Day time” the sun reveals all and gives us heat and makes our crops grow. “Night time” monsters use the shadows to lurk and hurt us. That’s why if you ever encounter a vampire you should immediately name all their weaknesses. Not every vamp has the same weakness, but they all have huge egos, so they’ll carelessly correct you. The hard part after that is getting another opportunity to use this knowledge. Hopefully somebody else figured out the local vamp population’s weakness before then lol

I do remember a few years ago during New Year’s Eve, my brother and my family was popping fireworks behind his house. While the next day, some strange popping noise abrupted from behind his house. It turns out that some how the bonfire had relit it’s self and cause fireworks to go off inside the bonfire it’s self. This strange occurrence happened more than once. It happened two times on news years eve.
@InvdrDana4 ай бұрын
Something similar happened when I went camping once. We had a campfire and put it out before bed. I don't know how much time passed, maybe 30 mins or an hour, but I saw the fire was relit without any of us having done so. My guess is that it wasn't properly put out the first time even if it had appeared like it was. An overlooked spark perhaps? But it was also stupidly hot out, which probably didn't help.
@theresemartin79303 ай бұрын
Thats why you hose down used fireworks.
@MGSLurmeyАй бұрын
@@InvdrDana This is why you always thoroughly douse a fire with water. A left over hot coal or ember has enough energy to relight the fire. It can still happen if you douse the flames but aren't thorough enough, as the risidual heat will still dry out the fuel bed. Even better, if you're done with a campfire, douse it with lots of water and then cover with soil. This both removes heat from the fuel and restricts its access to oxygen. Also has the bonus side effect of creating charcoal you can take home with you!
@CryptoTonight93935 ай бұрын
Wick effect doesnt explain the case you brought up where the woman was sitting at a table and suddenly began combusting with her relative in the room who said the flames were coming from her body not her clothes. Glad to see Grill make an appearance, especially in an episode that I have personal ties with. My great-grandmother, who passed away when I was young (albeit, old enough to barely remember spending time with her) was one of Washington's few "official" cases of spontaneous human combustion. She did check several of the markers for wicking, though: Alcoholic, smoker, obese, and it's believed that she got drunk and passed out while smoking, so all things considered, a pretty straight-forward case.
@BSLS1234 ай бұрын
Wow! Sorry if this is too personal to ask but can you remember how her passing was explained to you as a child?
@OlyChickenGuy4 ай бұрын
@@BSLS123 I don't believe I was told about the whole "spontaneous combustion" thing until I was in... middle school? And I don't recall who told me. As a child, I was just told that she passed away in a house fire, and I was probably much too young to really understand what that meant. I honestly don't have any solid memories of my great-grandmother, despite having vivid memories of her house (my grandmother inherited it and rented it out, so I'd get to visit when my mum helped clean the house between tenants). And just so you know, not too personal at all. If I have to have a reason that I didn't get more time with my great-grandmother, it's at least pretty cool to say that her officially recognised cause of death is "spontaneous human combustion". And, in case you wish to give this woman some respect by recognising her name, it was Ivy. A very beautiful name, in my opinion.

The intensity of the fire is not explainable either. The amount of heat it took to burn a human body almost to ash would positively take down the rest of the house. Some people believe that it wouldn't work because the fire would have gone out because it burned out all the oxygen in the room. So there's that other fact that needs to be explained as well. It takes over 3,000° the cremate of a body so how would a person be able to turn to ash like that without taking out the rest of the building?

Not really sure how to explain it. The experience was second hand. I hadn't seen things in years, but just last week I had a neighbor come over for a quick chat. He came through the door and thought he saw my father walk down a hallway. He wasn't home. Just me and my brother who were there at the entrance talking to him. We were unfazed. We didn't see anything but still explained that yes, we have had multiple people have experiences like that in our home. I've had multiple uncles, four, spend separate nights in the same room. They reported waking up to seeing an old man sitting at the end of their bed. Three were recently out of prison and one had just separated from their wife. None of them were really in contact with each other. IT could be they told each other at some point or one had a bad trip one night and retold the story. As for my neighbor, maybe lack of sleep and some exhaustion. As for Aliens, yeah. Especially if they think the way we do and if they truly are MORE advanced beings.
