It feels so rare and beautiful to be able to grow up with a band and have a soundtrack to your life. From graduating college to being uncertain of what's next. I did a lot of traveling hoping to find the answer, ended up joining the military, finishing my contract out and ultimately back to square one. Eventually after some time, things finally worked out. I just had my first son four months ago so to have this album line up with life just like the other ones did is just insane to me. I just wanted to say thank you to you guys. Your music has been such a constant in life and has been something I've been able to really cherish as I grow old. It's been an honor to be a fan and to grow up with you guys. I wish you guys nothing but happiness and success.

My adult son has been trying to get me into this band since they first hit the scene. Took me long enough, now I am finally appreciating the music. So much so, my son is taking this rocking granny to a show in 2 weeks time. I may scream like a little kid 😂. Love this behind the scenes!

The first time I saw them was in a venue literally called “Rock Bottom” in 2008 or 2009. There were more band members than audience members, but I immediately knew I had just found my new favorite band. To follow them over the years and be a part of their ever growing fan base has been incredibly rewarding. To see them years later at the House of Blues with Motion City Soundtrack was truly unreal. I took my girlfriend (now my wife) to that show, her first experience with the band. Ten seconds into “Brothers &” she leans over to me and says “Ok. I get it.” Now, I’m a dad and like everyone else in their 30’s, I’ve lost many people close to me. It feels as if Hum is speaking to me and to see these same dudes after all this time pouring their souls into this record brings a tear to my eye. I don’t say any of this to play that silly “I knew them way-back-when game.” I share it only to say this: to be a fan of this band is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had in music. Thank you, Wonder Years for everything. Thanks for reading. Can’t wait to scream along to Doors on tour. ❤❤❤

“I said this a couple times, and I know that every time I say it the record label hates that I say it, but I’m going to say it anyway. I do not care if we gain one. single. fan. from making this record. I don’t give a fuck if a single new person listens to The Wonder Years. I wanted to make a record for Wonder Years fans.” I love this band so fucking much. As sad as it may sound, this band and community are the closest to family I have.

I feel so fortunate to have grown up with the Wonder Year as a band as a soundtrack to a large amount of the developmental years of my life. From navigating college to losing friends to navigating my late twenties and life after the angst and panic of my youth to accepting the fading of passion and working with what I have as I enter my 30s. The Wonder Years have earned a fan for life in me.

I found the Wonder years in my junior year of high school, I had survived 3 stints in mental hospitals and constantly considered killing myself. The first song I heard was Came Out Swinging and I thought they were clever because of the reference to the guy who made super size me. I then binged every single ep and lp and split they had out digitally after the opening to upsides. My first concert ever was Sister Cities in Nashville. I have a print I want to get a tattoo of lyrics that became my daily affirmation after dropping out of college and becoming homeless. This band means so much to me, they were a lifeline when I was in a city and I knew no one. Since Sister cities I have gone to every concert i could afford with them on it. I was in Chicago the day they canceled every date for burst and decay 2(the next day was going to be the Chicago set). I incidentally was at FEST because of peer pressure and that set was the most brutal thing I've done. These boys have put out a masterpiece in the Hum goes on Forever, they make living not to seem like the chore I make it out to be. If I ever could meet them in person I would want Soupy to know how much his lyrics have inspired me to sing myself and how much they as a whole matter to me and others like me.

I’ve been listening to The Wonder Years since I was in high school. I’ll always be grateful to the person that recommended them to me. This band has always been able to explain how I feel without me fully understanding it myself. They’re such beautiful people and they create these musical experiences that give me so much joy. I really enjoyed this documentary and getting some insight into their thought processes.

I remember the first time I heard TWY. It was in the car with a dear friend I had in college. It was her favorite band, saved her life she said. Which was a beautiful thing to share with me. And when I was growing up I was religious and loved this band called Relient K, who were pop punk and witty. I hadn't ever found anything I loved or related to after I lost my religion until she played The Wonder Years. It was like this void being filled of having a band that just fits. And I think what makes them so special is that not only are they great, but they are decent people. We got to meet them at a few record store shows, meet and greet type of things. It's not like they are long interactions, I'm not going to act like we are suddenly best friends or anything, but other bands get this kind of like "I'm up on a pedastal" kind of vibe when you meet them. There's this air of you're here for me. And no one in this band has that. It's more like "I know how much this means to you, but you have to understand how much this means to me too." Which is shockingly comforting. I'm really glad this documentary is out, because now more people can feel that, and I think if the rest of us can make passing interactions with strangers feel like that, then the world could be a better place. Not to mention how truly special this album is, just as an album.
