The World in 2050: Future Technology

From things in the air, to new things for our bodies, join me as we explore 2050: What Would Be The Future Technology?
We are in the year 2020, and if we're being honest with ourselves, technology is incredible advanced, and we're making strides that can push things even farther. We have cars that are much safer than they've been in the past decade, and we're even making fully electric cars that can help save the planet. There are even plans for self-driving cars and even self-driving Ubers that make the future of transportation very exciting. And that's just ONE technology that we're growing at a fast rate. What about all the others that are out there? What will technology be like as we get closer and closer to 2050?
Let's start with one that well and truly could happen very soon, drones. "
Let's keep going with transportation, shall we? Right now, one of the biggest ways to get around the countries we live in are trains. Trains ferry people and all sorts of cargo around in an efficient and reliable manner, which is why they've been in use for hundreds of years. But...if we're being honest here, while trains are efficient and reliable in certain ways...they aren't exactly fast. Especially when it comes to passenger and freight trains. They can take a LONG time to get to their destinations and at times it's more logical to take other modes of transportation.
Which is why companies are making special kinds of trains that can go MUCH faster. You know of the magnetic trains of Japan no doubt, but others like the V. Hyperloop are trying to push things even farther.
"Passengers or cargo are loaded into the hyperloop vehicle and accelerate gradually via electric propulsion through a low-pressure tube. The vehicle floats above the track using magnetic levitation and glides at airline speeds for long distances due to ultra-low aerodynamic drag."
Science-fiction? Hardly, in fact, the first vehicle of the Hyperloop has already been tested and proven, and some larger tests are being scheduled for the next few years. And if this works, traveling across the country will be MUCH faster. How much faster? The hyperloop aims to send people shooting across the tubes that they make at a rate of about 600 miles per hour.
Ok, we've had some fun ones, but now let's go deeper down the rabbit hole and talk about the ones we all fear...A.I. Yep, artificial intelligence, and no matter what way you look at it, people are seriously trying to make it happen, and make it happen soon. AI's are literally everywhere, including in your cars, and in your homes via devices like Alexa (which are indeed forms of AI), and there are things like Watson that is so smart that it could beat two Jeopardy Legends.
Mars seems to be the place where many feel we can go in order to live amongst the stars. And many speculate that by 2030 at the latest (barring setbacks, accidents, and other things obviously) we could not only be colonizing Mars, but having regular shuttles go there so that people can see the red planet for themselves.
"We will see first people going off to mars, and then robots will do some basic stuff like making basic materials [on Mars,]" Pearson said. "We're going to have to do that because only so much can be brought to space."
Of course, there are numerous things that need to be worked out before such a thing could happen, but we have "Top Men" on this, including Elon Musk and the Space X program, Jeff Bezos via his Blue Origin company and more.
Alright, now let's dive into something REALLY sci-fi...prosthetics. Yeah, I know that RIGHT NOW prosthetics are very limited, and at times...a bit pointless. But IF we were able to fully utilize computer technology to its fullest and make prosthetics that are fully compatible with the human brain and body, then the sky is the limit. We could enter an age where cyborgs are not just welcome, they're commonplace.
Think about it like this, what if the clothes you were wearing right now felt the same, looked the same, but could do more? With the growth of nanotechnology, your clothes could potentially be imbued with various materials or technologies that help you improve your strength, durability, and more.
virtual reality simulations come through as many expect them to, it could lead to all sorts of innovations in the classrooms that could help kids what's going on.

you know science in 1850s could not predict plaines or anything flying and instead they said we will have boats that will get 10k people from Europe to US days faster, trains with 1k carts and many people and so on. So this is kind of the same we imagine what we have now but bigger/smaller, faster, smarter... You see my point

@@aleksanderpopov5060 I think we have a better sense of predicting the future , maybe not what we'll have exactly but in terms of a range of things for example in 2050 we probably likely won't have time travel but we might have established some sort of quantum internet allowing humanity to have some sort of unified pulse of understanding of itself especially if we have brain implants. By that time the people that don't have internet now might still be using just physical devices and the old internet infrastructure...so maybe still not everyone would be part of it...or they just wouldn't be convicted that they want to join..

I think the biggest flaw in people's outlook of the future is it often still incorporates business and finance. These institutions only exist because of something called scarcity. The thing is most emerging technologies aim to eliminate just that, scarcity. Meaning that we're heading toward a future where money becomes worthless, and so all practices associated with it give way to automated systems.

I think AR glasses/contacts will be the replacement for phones, not wrist-based interfaces. Eye-based AR offers a lot more privacy and can do more than just show information like your phone, like show names of people you're talking, interesting facts about buildings you see and navigation information while you take a walk. And we'd definitely start approaching technologies where you can think things to this interface and it will do whatever you want without saying a word.

I also agree with the wristband one at the end, but just think of all the problems humans will have remembering things if technologies like this actually exist. The technologies would do everything for the humans and therefore the capacity to remember for humans will decrease. We can already see it happening with people who use smartphones, often they will have 30 people’s numbers in their phone app but won’t remember more than 5 - 6 numbers.

As we get closer to 2050, we will develop more technology and we will have the possibility of knowing and exploring another planet like Mars and colonizing it thanks to the help of programs like Space X and NASA. I think it will affect a lot since many people in their jobs will be replaced by machines, robots or simply artificial intelligence will do the job for them.

I’d much rather have AR (augmented reality) contact lenses) than a wrist watch because a wrist watch... it seems to not be progressing much. The step towards AR contacts or AR glasses which are well in the making with a few versions already being released. I think this is much more accurate than a watch. Just imagine being able to have screens anywhere you want or have directions to where you’re going in digital arrows you can see in real places around you. The possibilities are endless with augmented reality.

In the evolution that technology has experienced, I think that changes such as the improvement of communication tools like cell phones and having cars with self-driving capabilities, contributed with the progress of the humankind. Also, for the future, I visualize technology as the mean to reach important milestones such as space trips and migration to other planets, but this will affect the way humans live their life and the social relationships between them.

I believe this will be the century we will do a lot of work to build the foundations that one day humanity will actually be a multi-planetary species. I think we will start out with colonizing the Moon and Mars. From these we will get a lot of new knowledge, that will eventually let's us settle on more places inside our solar system, like for example Titan. In my opinion Titan will be a pretty neat place to settle on as there are already a lot of hydrocarbons present, that we can use as fuel for future missions, problem with settling on Titan will be that we need a source of water, so we can make oxygen and survive. We'll most likely come up with a solution for this in the end.

Like be able to automatically adjust the showerhead and temperature to suit us for winter and summer, bit still being able to adjust the temperature manually temporarily or permanently. With baths there should be an alarm to it to be sent to your phone or any device when it is full to the extent you want it to be via profiles, once again. Also have an option for guest which you'll have to manually adjust temperatures, etc.

@@eastwood4006 Then you're a selfish person with unrealistic expectations of the future. The population of the world is increasing every year. The size of cities are going up. Urban density is increasing. Cities all over the world are having to periodically revise the laws and regulations they have for housing density because they need more housing. Hell, even right now there is a housing shortage in many countries. Cars suffer from the same shit. Extreme overpopulation of cars. Some cities have 16 lanes and still get completely plugged up full of cars because there are just too many people. Fact is, the idea of having your own big house and large yard and your own private car are old notions that are fading and will continue to fade as time goes by because they are increasingly unrealistic.
