David explains what the daily life of the gnomes is like. He tells about his job as a doctor and the time he saved a goat who had swallowed a wire and a badger that had a splinter in his eye. David also tells that the gnomes have enemies, the trolls.

I used to watch this in the early '90s on Nickelodeon. I liked this one and I think it was called "Maya the Bee" or something. Good times. Certainly better than anything the 21st century has to offer. Even being the Internet junkie and hardcore gamer I am, those were good times, better times, before half the country went nuts. Yeah I skipped school, I was getting Fs and really I got as many as I gave lol. Love this show, was a great comfort to me. Skipped school on rainy days and watched this. Kids and teachers weren't nice to me in school. My folks were fighting they ended up divorcing. Ah, but I had David the Gnome.❤

To be fair - in some ways that's a good thing. While this kind of show was beautiful and artful, it was incredibly labour intensive and our increased use of computer animation has expanded what we can do while taking less time and resources to do it. Sure. That's resulted in a massive number of shows produced - so there's going to be a lot of crap, but there's a lot of great shows too.
