The World of David the Gnome - Episode 07 - To Grandfather's House We Go (Restored)

David is expecting a visit from his granddaughter, Susan. In a deep part of the forest lives a real witch with her cat. Once the witch leaves for the day, her cat goes wandering in the woods. Lisa goes to pick up Susan, and they meet a friendly porcupine family. The witch's cat sees the gnome house, and he knows the gnomes have mice as pets. But when he tries to get into David and Lisa's house, he falls into the trap designed to catch small animals. Later that evening, David lets the cat out. The cat gets scared of Swift and runs back home. That night the witch comes home and listens to the cat's adventures. This inspires her to write a story, "Little Red Riding Hood".
Note: The preview for "The ghost of Black Lake" was cut from all DVD releases. It was restored for this release using the best available elements. The video is fine, but the audio is not the greatest.

Fun fact that nobody really cares about: natural dyes are not always best. Depending on what mordant or color fastener you use they can actually be more toxic than chemical dyes.

Magic, excitement, enchantments, wonders, imagination, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. Everything in stories is real, especially witches, wizards, and magical creatures. I don't care what other people think and say, they just don't understand. That's because they refuse to believe when they're calling all of it nonsense, but they're wrong. People who don't believe in these things are doubtful unbelievers, they don't know what it's like to be young like I do. Hmph! They definitely have no imagination. How foolish of them all. Can't say I blame for that. Poor misguided folks. The old woman with Spooky the kitten is a witch, a real-live witch flying on her broomstick. And the fairy tale she wrote was Little Red Riding Hood, which I know that. I believe in these things. None of them are poppycock, rubbish nonsense like fools think. Well, I enjoy stories that have magic such as fairy tales, classic tales, fables, ancient histories, mythologies, and nursery rhymes. I never give up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I knew, especially those from my childhood. No growing up, yuck! I am like Peter Pan and have his youthful spirit. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time and I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like Tinker Bell, and the other fair folks. Magical things happen, but only if you're young at heart. Anything is real if you just believe. Think happy thoughts to make you fly. All it takes is faith, trust and pixie dust. Come away and dream away. Let imagination light your way to take you as far as your heart can see. Dream away to a place where hope is shining and find your silver lining. Never ever grow up, yuck!
