Like they have to have that comparison in order to invalidate B's situation. It's a really shitty argument--not to mention it also displays whoever said it as very immature--because trauma is not something someone else can just evaluate for the victim. If you're in the, for example, feminist spaces a lot, you'll see that rhetoric used by misogynists to invalidate ways that feminism helps/can help men.

It wasnt the man in this video, but a different one specifically titled "The Most Hated Man In Korea"

I decided to copy and paste the comment that I left on Stephanie’s video (specifically about the sashimi murders) because I have experience being around someone with schizophrenia and it just gives my insight on why I thought he might have connected things the way he did in his brain. I’m also in the process of my clinical psychology degree so I’ve taken a good amount of psychology/developmental courses. Yes of course I still have so much more information to learn but I just though I’d share what I thought from the perspective of someone whose had experience with someone with schizophrenia and who is also is going to school to become a psychologist or a psychiatrist (undecided) For a little preface there is something called anosognosia which is a symptom of sever mental illness that impairs one’s ability to recognize their own illness (I’m not trying to arm chair diagnose but I’m just giving the definition because the person I knew had it and I felt like I saw it represented a lot in this in similar ways to what I’ve seen in person). I think maybe with him not thinking he was mentally ill and his mom holding him down trying to get him to take medication or even asking him to take it in general, and the father maybe not physically trying to give him the medication, maybe he started to associate women with trying to harm him or interfere with his life for “no reason” when in reality, his mom was really trying to help him and not hurt him or give him medication that he “doesn’t need”. He might have felt like she was trying to drug him with the “unneeded meds”. Being schizophrenic, you have an increased amount of the chemical dopamine in your brain. With that it also increases you noticing lingering eye contact but not only noticing it but think and fixating on it. Your brain will create scenario of why that person made eye contact with you while they walked by on the sidewalk, like they are out to get you. So maybe he, unaware but subconsciously, was looking at women being hyper aware because his brain made him think that they are after him, and then one of them happens to look up at him because they feel someone looking at them and then that confirms his suspicions to him that women are out to get him. My mom had schizoaffective disorder and she believed she didn’t have anything wrong with her and refused to take her medication or go to a psychologist or psychiatrist on her own free will so she was baker acted multiple times. There’s so much more but I won’t go into detail.

yeah my thoughts exactly . i studied psychology in school so i do understand to certain degree, especially how he highly likely had anosognosia and why he viewed women in such a bad light . it does NOT justify what he did ofc but it does give insight on his mental state also considering the fact he hadn't taken any meds for such an extended period of time.

To be honest, in the case of the sashimi knife, I do agree it was female targeted, but I also think it's not a social construct necessarily?? I think in his delusions, he saw his mom as the villain because she was trying to "drug him" and "lying to him about his mental health", and it's not specified why his father and him had a fight, but I wouldn't put it past him to be trying to do something out of pocket to his mom and his dad had to step in, and THAT'S where his hatred for women came from. Think about it, he probably blamed his mom for "turning his dad against him" the same way he blamed his female co-workers for turning the manager against him. This is what makes more sense to me.

Something similar happened to my bestie at 12 yrs old in the US. We dont know if he was an actual officer or dressed like one but she was a kid and alone for maybe 10 minutes and he lured her away and the second they were around the corner she was smacked so hard she passed out. It took maybe 20ish minutes to find her. her head and face were bloody, her powerpuff girls training bra was missing, and she was delirious and scared. Didn't understand where she was. No drugs in her system, just head trauma and yes, sexual trauma. 12 years old.

We are literally living in hell, the demons are walking with us everyday, and that shit is terrifying. I’m sorry she had to go through that, especially at SUCH a delicate time in a young girls life.
