There are only 2 terminals at KLIA. The one you landed is at terminal 1 which is the main terminal and also the one used by MAS and most major airlines. So no, it is not more convenient for MAS passengers to access the immigration office as they would have had to do the same thing that you've done. By right there is an aerotrain service, but right now it is unserviceable, hence passengers have to take the bus to the main building for immigration. Terminal 2 is for low cost airlines which includes AirAsia.

Yeah I just realised when my dad arrived with MH and he still had to take a bus to move on to another terminal. Thanks for the correction

Lol Because the airport is owned by the government and only operated by the private company. It means those automated self check-in infrastructure is implemented by the funding from the Singaporean government lol
