Syria was one of the countries I visited at the beginning of my KZbin journey. When I posted my trip precisely two years ago, I had less than 10 thousand subscribers. I am resharing these videos for a wider audience now and sharing my experiences from Syria with my guide. Syria is a country that cannot be visited solo, and you have to have a guide assigned by the government for security reasons, but also, your trip details get reported to the government at the end of your trip by your travel agency. That is why I had a companion most of the time in Syria.
Twelve years ago, a peaceful uprising against the Syrian president escalated into a full-scale civil war. The conflict has caused the death of over half a million people, destroyed cities, and involved other countries.
The war has resulted in immense suffering for the Syrian population, with over half of the pre-war population of 22 million being forced to flee their homes. More than 6.8 million Syrians are internally displaced, with over two million living in tented camps and having limited access to basic services. An additional 6 million Syrians are refugees or asylum-seekers abroad, and countries like Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey, which are hosting 5.3 million of them, have struggled to cope with one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history.
As of the beginning of 2023, the UN reported that 15.3 million people in Syria required humanitarian assistance, which is an all-time high since the war began. Furthermore, 12 million Syrians did not know where their next meal was coming from.
Although the government has regained control of Syria's biggest cities, rebels, jihadists, and the Kurdish-led SDF still hold large parts of the country, and there have been no changes in the front lines for three years.
Video Highlights:

14:43 - Ancient Syrian Mosaics;
39:51 - Damascus Street Food;
1:04:33 - Oldest Cafe In Damascus;
1:17:31 - Inside Historical Mosque;
1:33:03 - Luxury Breakfast Experience.

We want you to go to a place called Sayyida Zeinab to photograph for us the sex hotels that Iran has opened, and there are Iranian prostitutes. So that they do not laugh at you, put the maps and go there. We also want you to go to a city called Suwayda in order to photograph the demonstrations that are taking place to bring down drug leader Bashar al-Assad. Do not go to places. There is nothing there. Go to the city of Idlib to photograph the suffering of women and children. Did you not find Iranian and Russian militias? There is an Iraqi, Russian and Iranian mafia there. Be careful not to let anything happen to you.

where exactly did you see how people are living? What exactly do you think is normal enough for these people to live in? What do you think that they deserve? Is breathing and a ( half) full stomach more than enough for them? Ok... you have seen the real country.... they are good...having a blast... who needs electricity, or jobs....or any freedom....or dreams.... these are the things that these western propaganda machines have created. as we have seen... every restaurant had huge lines of waiting people. These people are really living the life.

Mary is a sweet, shy guide who is happy eating mana'eesh or pide/lamacun..lama ajeen..I feel like you didnt experience the full extent of syrian food which is really among the best in the region..it and the lebanese food. Also the time in the backgammon factory was too lengthy.Sweet old men but i am not getting the essence of this city in this video. The mosque is spectacular. A more outgoing guide would be good if you go back..she is sweet but very simple. Damascus is the oldest city in the world. Lots to see and visit! John the baptist is buried there! Salah Eldin was a kurd who conquered jerusalem for the muslims. There is a turkish dizi currently airing about him!
