@Sophia-ol3sk3 жыл бұрын
@@arcious60 I get what you are saying. It's just reality tv is often exaggerated for views. Kind of like KZbin thumbnails 🤣. Producers definitely persuade and encourage you to say and do certain things. In her video, Jordan explained the producers wanted her to focus on rationing. In her video about this, she explained that she feels it's important to be mindful of waste, however she doesn't actually limit food or toilet paper like that. For food, she teaches her kids to start with less and you can get more if you're still hungry to limit waste. In the video, she explains the toilet paper scene was supposed to be more of a teaching moment for her son, because he was becoming more independent and wanted to wipe himself. Except he was using more than he actually needed, as most kids do. That's why she was asking, "and how much do you think daddy needs". Here's exactly what she said in the disclaimer below her video, "Obviously things are exaggerated in editing, to make our lifestyle more entertaining for TV, unfortunately. So always keep that in mind with “reality” TV! That being said, everything we did on the show, we find helpful when it comes to living frugally… Maybe just not as extreme as they made it look. For example, we certainly teach our kids about portion sizes. We teach them to only take one handful of a snack, or to start with a half bowl, so we don’t waste food. With toilet paper, we definitely teach our kids how many squares is appropriate, to help cut down on clogged toilets 🤣. But, do we ration food and toilet paper? No, not in the way they make it look on the show." I think it's just important to keep in mind that reality TV is often not reality. It's often persuaded and exaggerated for views. Which, at the end of the day, that makes sense.

And that’s why if the kids don’t finish them, they’ll get less next time. Cause then they didn’t need the fourteen to feel full. And the toilet paper thing is her teaching her kid how to determine how much toilet paper he actually needs since a lot of kids use more than necessary. Teach the kids, ‘Hey, how much do you think daddy needs,’ to give them an estimate on how much they should need. Hopefully that helps make things seem less troubling.

It’s crazy how now her kids are older and she has a KZbin channel. I had no idea she was on that show bc she actually gives good advice on her channel about saving and raising all her kids in a budget friendly way. now she’s way more chill about her kids consumptions and instead of neglecting their meals she just has good ways of using left overs and other good tips.

Omg I’m so glad you did this! The woman in this actually has a KZbin channel and opened up about how the producers instructed her to do a lot of things she normally wouldn’t in order to make her look more frugal. She actually seems so sweet and not cheap in real life, she just does a lot of couponing and different things for her family. I’m almost positive most things in this are misconstrued for the sake of reality TV.

Imagine her husband complaining about having only - like - 3 squares of toilet paper for that month and she verbally harasses him by saying “then shake! We’re not made of money!”
@AllieBug793 жыл бұрын
She has a platform now, youtube, blog, etc, I follow her and she has addressed her appearance on TLC, she doesn’t starve her kids, she doesn’t limit their toilet paper, everything was over dramatized. She just teaches them to only take 5-6 squares of toilet paper at a time so they don’t clog the toilet by using half a roll each time they go to the bathroom, and she gives them what she thinks they can eat, and they can always have seconds and they can have snacks as long as it’s not too close to a mealtime, like if dinner is in an hour they will wait to eat, overall she has good ideas for saving money, and doesn’t mistreat her kids
