At first I thought this is not a new video, but then I realized in the middle of this week we were at freezing and had almost 3" of snow. I don't live on a mountain. I'm in Cincinnati right on the Ohio River. First, this scenery is unbelievable. Going up the snowy trail with blue sky and those overhead spiral views were spectacular. Testing the equipment gave us a "in the driver's seat" view. "I feel the need - the need for speed". Once again, you did it Mike. We see the future.

As a avid backcountry snowmobiler the battery life in the cold and distance it can go still worry’s me as well as the WEIGHT! I’m not the only one that breaks at least one part per season so how accessible are parts and of course how does it do in the real technical and deep snow, to me a top speed test means nothing personally. I’m definitely not sold on it after this “test” but maybe it is a step closer to the future but then you look at electric dirtbikes and see how bad they flopped. Hope the best for the company though!

2 strokes won't die if they get to cold plus you get to piss off a liberal so it's a double win. Always buy 2 stroke and demand they start making them again.

I can see these being super popular at ski resorts. Being able to keep them topped off without needing to buy fuel could be great for them. Have a charger at all the ski patrol stations and they will never have to worry about running low on gas. the fast acceleration and torque is great for response times too.

Mike - At 06:30 - the engineer mentioned placing system sensors in the radiator and I found that a bit odd as this isn't a traditional gas-powered snowmobile [so why a radiator?] Then it dawned on me that they needed a way to offset excess heat discharged while there are heavy loads being used from the battery area. The system is really quiet and you can definitely hear gears and tracks moving in this system. I'm still skeptical about all totally electric vehicles [snow or otherwise] because if you get too far out of the way and there is no generator or access to the power grid, how do you recharge the vehicle?
@DownieLive3 жыл бұрын
You'd have to get towed back, just like if you ran out of gas.
@mstrdiver3 жыл бұрын
@@DownieLive - Michael ~~ The irony is that the towing vehicle would probably be a gas-powered vehicle. I saw a diesel wrecker towing an out-of-power Tesla last winter on Interstate 95 in Virginia. The owner continued to run his car like he was going to get his usual average mileage during his trip and failed to factor in the extra battery use heating the vehicle cabin in the cold. That's something I didn't ever worry about in my gas vehicle, plus I've not heard of a 4WD all-electric vehicle yet either.
