Just remember these sleds are really in their infancy stage. These will be great today for things like hotels, ski resorts etc. They won't have to replace them every 3 to 4 years like a two-stroke, won't have to deal with oil and gas, they have inside storage and the ability to Quick charge which only takes 20 minutes. Perfect solution for them.

If you replace every 4 years because you wear it out you’ll replace electric also, you’ll have minimal charge capacity left. 2 stroke is easy and cheap to rebuild, battery is easy and expensive to swap. Less parts on ev. I see everyone takes a side. Future is electric but do not underestimate ice. We can have them both until we go antigravity fusion core dark matter 😂

@@SGTDuckButter ya I think we need to know more about taiga batteries and charging needs first. My camp solar system is a 6kw system with 3000 watts of panels. The downfall is winter I make a lot less energy. Being lake access though I only need to travel 5km, then a few more to ice fish and get firewood. So it maybe possible to get by for the weekend. I'd still keep my titan as a backup though for sure.

Great video. I love the sound of the Atlas. It actually reminds me of high end RC cars. Taiga's success will hinge on their ability to find the right target markets. Early adopters will help validate the concept (range, cold temperature performance...). But, they need broader market acceptance with the segments who buy new every 1-2 years.

Half the time I go out I put on at least 180-200 kms to up to 300 in a day so unfortunately it wouldn't be good for me. Well the snowmobile is certainly a feat of engineering for the future of the sport but it seem's very exclusive to riding in areas near towns (power) and nice groomed trails. I cant see myself trusting a fully electric power plant to get into the mountains and explore. There is a market for them, but it wont go far with the big three manufacturers having the sleds they do.

How nice would it be to have a Taiga lineup of snowmobiles, watercraft, atv’s, etc that all use interchangeable battery packs. It might make the sport justifiable for some people that can’t stand to see their expensive sled sit for 8 months of the year.

if this had a 150-200 real km range, and that you could charge up everywhere you stop on a trip in like, 30 minutes or less, it would sell like crazy. The problem is not only the sled, but the charging infrastructures. If there was a DC charger at every gaz station, restaurant, hotel etc, it would be near perfect. I think riders would pay the 5-8000$ more, if they could really use it, as a normal snowmobile, just like Drivers paid good money for their Model S, because it was a car, a real car that works exactly like a normal car.

OK great review! But there are still so many unanswered questions. Right from the get go if you go to their website to inquire about Spring order. They only tell you the starting price of $15000. You have no idea what the sled will cost with the larger engine and the top suspension package. Could be well over $20000. Also With prior snowmobiles we have a track record and we know the durability of the motors and what kind of mileage we can expect if it's built properly and maintained properly. And E Tech you can easily get 8 to 10000 miles before any rebuild. 900 Ace 20,000-30,000... How long do these motors last and other components before needing replacement. How many miles and charges will you get out of the batteries over the lifetime. These are serious questions that need to be answered and be comparable to present sleds. How can they expect us to spend $20000 on a sled with so little information besides your review? If money was no object, sure I'd slap it down right now...

@@doktordice9219 Considering that the charging connector is the same as for cars, and car chargers are popping up everywhere, I don't think this will be a problem for very long. Plus, since it's simple to add a charger to a building that already has electricity, eventually it will be easier to find an electric charging point than a gas station. Thank you for the review... It really sounds like they may a real sled. When you go to pre order one on their website they only tell you the starting price of $15,000... So I really don't understand how much the sleds cost with for example the larger engine or what the founders edition cost and what the extras you get are... Seems like you would be buying it with unknowns. Who knows what the sled will cost with the largest engine and the best suspension package. Could be over 20,000 US? Do you know anything about pre ordering and more detail. Thanks again

OK I see now when you go to their website to pre order you have to give them your contact information and then tap pre order. That brings up the ability to pay the $500 deposit which will open up the ability to choose your options and price the sled. Reading into their terms and conditions of the contract, they will give you your $500 deposit back after you tap pre order, but they will not give it back after you tap the pay button... So you basically have to give them your contact information and make the $500 deposit to really see what you're ordering and what you would be paying, then you're given The Choice to continue at that point, if you continue your locked in and you can't get your money back. Their terms and conditions also state that The sled is in Product development still and that they are not guaranteeing that they will be delivered in the fall or at all. They also stated because of individual country regulations it may hold up the importing and the ability to meet standards... If so deposit will be returned.

It’s range is 85 miles give or take which is a tank of gas on a 850 pretty close and you can charge it at the bar with regular outlet. 80 percent in 20 minutes not bad I get it gas is music to my ears but it’s not a bad unit !!! Just saying

I think that it would be cool if they had an accessory that mounted to the tunnel that was another battery kinda like an extra gas tank with like another 40 miles or so on it

might be ideal for the 'need to go riding' on a 70 mile loop ride after work, jury is still out for those that like racking up big miles until and if there is sufficient fast-charging infrastructure in place. then again, all the forward looking saloons in the 1800's had hitching posts out front, so maybe... there is hope and a place for a modern day Gillette razor in modern snowmobiling. the future is bright, and dare I say electric

Would enjoy durability tests in more standard fresh snow, 4 to 8 inches deep riding. A kit would also be better, soo many used sleds out there for under $1500. I have broken ski's, and the arms, buried trees, ect. When gas prices and shortages come in the next 5 to 10 years. Be more viable.

I'll add many farmers own sleds and atvs. But need to be affordable. Your market should be them

The absence of any mention of range is glaring and tells you what you need to know. They ignore it because the news is bad, I suspect really bad. When a manufacturer states estimated range expect no more than 2/3 of that. Even if there were places to charge in every town I doubt it would make it to many towns. Then there’s recharge time. No mention of that either. How long do you want to sit around in your riding gear while it charges? 4 hours okay? I think the hosts here severely short changed the viewer by not mentioning such important issues

Very good video, the snowmobile looks impressive. The most important question is the one thing you said nothing about. Range, recharging procedure's and what is this thing going to cost.

87 optimum miles = 40 to 50 miles if your lucky. Mmm batteries typically dont like pounding, jarring hits, first meltdown? Imagine the line up at a Recharge station.
