I enjoy your channel, I watch a lot of Midwest farmers with corn, grain, and cows, both dairy and beef, so learning about different types of farming is interesting. I am sorry the excavator "experts" did not read the comments to see that their answer was in several comments before theirs and with the attitude some of them imply. Still, an interesting channel. Thank you for showing this long reach excavator. Its brand name is ( Hitachi) The bucket size is very important these type of excavators can roll forward if the bucket is oversized

i have little suggestion for your farm instead of keeping manure on ground you can actully build a circular pit a little deep and wide enough it can hold your manure for whole year. for refrence watch a video of channel name farmer drone where they turn solid manure into liquid and then spread it across their whole field i have been following from last year much love from India 💗💗

Enjoyed the poop scooper video, thanks for driving out to get us the shots of it working, much appreciated. Is the weeping wall a converted shed roof? If so that was an impressive use and very MacGyver like :) I wonder if the dairy ever moved to a digester system to manufacture Biogas to fuel their farm machinery etc, if that would affect the quality of the residual 'Black Gold' when applied to your fields for improving the soil conditions etc. A little info for those that want it, the writing on the side of the boom of the scooper is Japanese, not Chinese. it's an Hitachi long-reach excavator, I'm assuming it was probably what they refer to a 'grey import' because of the Japanese characters on the stick boom, if it would have been a normal import it would have said HITACHI, Importing that way is not illegal, but most companies won't honor warranty on grey import equipment.

We basically built the wall as a roof, but it didn’t work very well could not sport the weight. And I don’t know what a digester would do to the manure. Glad you enjoyed the video.

This is a Hitachi EX300LC about a 1998 model. It ia an excavator with a long arm. Hitachi has made every excavator that John Deere has sold. All of them were made overseas. Oh this has an Isuzu engine in it with twin 70 gal/min hydrau;ic pumps.

I’m not sure because we don’t do much with the dairy. I know there is an inspector that comes around from time to time.

Hopefully all the farms in the area are using this as fertiliser & not chemical fertilisers. Farmers absolutely have to get get away from chemical fertilisers & start getting back to traditional & sustainable methods of maintaining the soil. P.S. That's NOT a dragline it's a long reach excavator.
