Love your channel Bigfoot! I learned, and continue to learn, a lot from your videos. I also had a limited time frame if I wanted to attempt a thru-hike of the AT because of my job. I had a little more time then you did but if I was going to give it a try, I only had 130 days and you inspired me to go for it. I’ll never forget that day on Katahdin 126 days after I started thanks in part to you and this channel. Thanks for everything Bigfoot. Keep the videos coming!

Did you feel rushed with a 126 day pace? How many zeros and did you have to take any time off the trail for anything? I'm thinking about a thru hike in 2021 but would have a similar time constraint.
@jasonporeda9303
@jasonporeda9303 5 жыл бұрын
@@race29dub Honestly no, I didn't feel rushed at all. I enjoyed the pace very much and hiked about 1,200 miles with 2 other guys who also enjoyed bigger mile days. Everyone enjoys the trail differently. I took 10 zero days which included 2 family weddings and a handful of nero's which for me was anything about 10 mi or less.

This jacket definitely fits a niche and will certainly have a market with through hikers who truly want to minimize weight and are willing to spend what it takes to do so. For me, the lack of pockets and price are limiting factors for the Plasma Down (and price for the Ghost). The Patagonia is the winner for me! Thanks for this thorough review, it truly helps us make "big" buying decisions. Also, congrats on 30,000 subs!

Way to go reaching 30K! Nice to see another MN boy getting after it on the trail. I really got a kick out of the Holloween convention, who knew. I have been called bigfoot for years, but my size 15 feet made that an easy trail name. A follow bigfoot shirt would be a natural on my back. I am going to give the Plasma a look as soon as I can. Happy trails.

As for a video I would love to see that I've not found (that really meets what I need), I would LOVE a comprehensive video on how to layer. By that, I mean the specific considerations we should be taking for each layer we put on. What materials, how versatile, how they play with each other, what temperatures constitute which types of layers, do you sleep in one of your layers (or being separate clothes for that)? I'm an avid hiker, but much newer to longer backpacking trips and have really never given the layering much thought. I'm lucky I've not run into anything, but I want to be better prepared when I go out for 3-7 day trips. Thanks for the awesome content!

Great jacket for what it was designed for. Not one single piece of gear ever designed will be the best for everyone in any given environment since we are all are so different but you did a great job of presenting the jacket for what it has to offer as well as it's short falls. I do think however that a standard needs to be developed for jackets similar to sleeping bags in regards to warmth. Certainly fit and weather are factors but, I still think that a standard model could be produced with given lab conditions that would make people better able to make a more informed choice. I want to thank you for all of your hard work in producing these videos as they have been an invaluable source of information for my AT hike this year.
