*UPDATE ON ALBA* Her rehabilitation was successful. She was released into Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park, a protected rainforest region in Indonesia. Her previous caretakers spotted her last year (2020) while working with a different rescue orangutan. According to the park rangers, she spends her time eating, exploring and resting. She is also allegedly a deft nest builder. Got this info from a smithsonianmag article. 😃 So yeah, this is a rescue and rehab facility guys. They heal animals and release them. *Edit: Can somebody please pin or upvote this so that the people crying out animal abuse can stop harassing the channel and facility? Thank you!*

Alba is grown and now living on her own in the forest, though she does come back for small visits; mainly for the food and company. Her humans are still keeping an eye on her but allow her to live an independent adult life for however long that may be. They fear for her safety against other humans more then they do with other orangutans as much as her fans, but part of the process is allowing animals to live their lives in their natural environment.
