Congrats to Tom joining an elite club of 3x WSM winners. And he's still so young, he could possibly take the record of most WSM wins if the biggest competition he has is against Hooper and guys like Singleton who continue to improve. I see the two of them having a back and forth battle over the next few years like Big Brian and Savickas.

Alot of chat will remain that this was a weak lineup. Mateusz, Novikov, Licis and Bish would not have challenged Tom or Mitch. Thor would have done well but not won based on the axle. I hope Mitch takes the defeat well (doesnt blame his hands). It was the best thing to happen for WSM to keep a rivalry narrative i thought Mitch would run away with it.
@likeyou33178 ай бұрын
This line-up had only 2 WSM and Arnold winners, being Tom and Hooper. Comparing that to this years Arnold, it was a pretty weak line up. Good thing though is that lots of new guys got their chance to show up and score really well, Tristain, Andrade, Derwinsky.

Happy Tom won and it was great to watch the highlights on your insta stories throughout 👍👌 When Tom matched Hooper on the axle, Tom knew he could win then. Hooper is undoubtably the best in the world at right now at Axle with that awesome jerk technique and Tom had him beat psychologically from that point, it hurt Hoopers belief badly not getting that WR in front of that crowd and only matching Tom on the lift, is that all you got? Shouldn't have counted out Tom in my predictions for 1st, a good, consistent performance with no mistakes. In the past Tom's deadlift and overhead was rather weak, but in few years, year by year showing constant improvement, now it's his top strength and it'd seem there are no weaknesses left. Tristain, Andrade and Derwinsky showed up almost out of nowhere and went 5, 6, 7, really impressive. I've expected Aivars, and Pavlo especially to score better than them but I guess I was wrong. One can wonder how many strongmen are there that are capable of reaching good places in WSM final but don't even get the chance. Where folks like Pa do get it and... well. Also good to see my fellow countryman Adam Roszkowski 1st time on WSM, I hope this result was good enough for him to see more invites to big events. As for Oskar.. yeah it's not a great year for him. :( I hope Mateusz heals up for good. Those constant injuries not only preven't him from improving his deadlift, but to simply reach his peak strength 2019-2020. :/ Peak form Mateusz was beatable by peak form Thor only. Thanks for all of the clips and coverage! Helps us diehard fans to follow our beloved sport.

I am sad and upset about the injuries he had and the idiot doctors... I hope everything will be fine now he is a very nice guy and deserves every title. He is not just extremely fast at moving but also has near perfect techique for example dumbell press, but people forget that he is actually very strong statically especially for his athletic body. He even worked up his deadlift to 420kg before his injuries, i believe he could have a deadlift of 430 or 440kg in the future without injuries. Then he would be unstoppable.

And it also makes it sound like the other guys (who all deserve to be their on their own merrit) were just popping in to make up the numbers. And for you armchair analysts Just being there and fit doesn't guarantee you anything at wsm as we've seen many times so lets just enjoy it and look forward before the debate starts going bk through the decades and delegitimising past winners because of who may of beat them if they had turned up fit.

There is a legitimacy to people's opinion because factually around 6 of the world's top 10 did not compete (Thor, Mateusz, Martins, Oleksii, Maxime, Hatton) and a couple there (Trey, Bobby) were not at their best. However Tom and Mitch are 2 of the best for certain and may well have placed top 2 with all there. The fact that many athletes got their first chance was a great positive for me. I thought they all did great and showed their high level. The selection process is still diabolical when half the invites are based on relationship or politics rather than achievements.
