Yup. And change is necessary. I don't necessarily agree with you, but I argue it is something that is needed to keep the game fresh and viable. The pendulum mechanic was a polarizing mechanic, but LS I can actually see some fun things coming about it. Plus, I do love videos like this because in my view newer players or players who didn't play during specific eras should be informed. Because, history very often repeats itself. :)

It's interesting to note that Test Tiger, a card that was crucial in making Glad Beasts dominant, was a TCG exclusive. Meaning that it was created by Upper Deck for the west and didn't even exist in Japan. Without it, Gyzarus wouldn't have been anywhere near as consistent as it was at the time and even with Cold Wave I doubt that they would've won as much as they did.

Excellent, overview Cap. I was around playing during that time and I will never forget the responses when Glads topped at SJ Saint Louis, which were a shock. Not to sound smug, but there was a part of me that believed that Glads could do it. Especially, now with Cold Wave. A very powerful card that could floodgate DAD and most decks very easily. Overall, keep this series up, Cap. It is important that newer players understand the past meta. Because history tends to repeat itself. For who knows? Maybe, we will see the dominance of a similar deck, like Spiral Mythic via with Heat Wave? Especially, when LS comes around.

Amethonys ygopro ai spams the fusion GB by using elemental hero prisma. I can try that too along with that loop. Turn one is okay as long as you have at least one trap/spell for protection. Any cards that helps you shuffle parts of your hand to search or something like that if you get a bad hand?

Almost all duels had some back in forth between the two duelists and it was generally decided by the grind game". No OTK? Good Card Advantage is important? OK Rarely one-sided? Great! The grind game? Great as well! Please, I want to live that, rather than the decks that contain like 10 cards or more to disrupt your plays so that you lose a turn and then kill you the next turn

TundraL5Z Some still can be if you play your cards right. Also, with the new Link mechanic coming out, fun decks are about to compete again. The decks that usually rely on the Turbo Extra Deck Engine are about to become nigh irrelevant. You can't play those kinds of decks without having to throw in a link monster or few and turning the engine into a jumbled mess. They'll still retain their power, but only slightly large fraction of it unless you are able to incorporate the Link mechanic correctly.

Had fun experience against this deck back in the past. Had to use anti attack stuff like threatening roar and Necro Guardnia. It was also a real boon when Necro became a quick effect. Other anti stuff that I had to use was Corridor of Agony and effects that shut down effects that activate on summon from the deck. It was a powerful deck to face off against, so had think hard on counters. Through it was really funny when I ended up in a stalemate when I sat on a GB hunter in a morphtronic deck.
