None of these social media platforms care about real issues. For example this chic on twitter makes a racist comment about white people so I got upset, went off and called her a racist twat. 🤷🏼♀️ Granted I did call her a name(sort of) but I’m the one that got reported and lost privileges. Now the only reason I got reported was because someone(99.9% sure it was op) reported me. Then Did they take the time to actually review the entire tread to get the full picture? Nope! You’re not innocent until proven guilty. You’re Guilty until your ban expires. The only reason they even allow you to report is to appease as many people as possible and to look as tho they are responsible. Twitter and all the rest say they don’t have the capability to look into every report because they don’t want to be liable. Every company’s number 1 priority is money. They have to seem as tho they care about the issues at hand or their company would be negatively affected. If they lose customers, they lose profits.

Hey Sierra, I am a third year law student. I've been watching your videos for years and love the message you are spreading. Although I am not a lawyer and still studying, I would suggest that you take them to court. I understand that there is a "few seconds rule" before content can get copyright created, however, such ads affect your brand. I feel this case has strong grounds for the following reasons: 1. This does not come under the definition of "fair use". They are using content without permission to sell a product. 2. Since it is obvious that their before and after are not the same people, this can be classified as false advertisement. 3. Most weight loss "miracle" products do not have compliance with Drugs and Food Safety Standards, this issue would definitely come up if brought to court. 4. Lastly, coming to your locus standi, it is obvious that such advertisements affect your brand and the message it stands for. It may cause you to lose credibility and following, thus resulting in loss of income. This particular area of law is not my area of expertise, but I would really encourage you to see a lawyer practising in your area to seek possible legal recourse. Stay strong!

@Author.Noelle.Alexandria4 жыл бұрын
@@skrunklycreationz I'm a gym rat, and can tell you for sure that there are three kinds of people you'll find at a gym, and two of them contain gym rats. 1) There are the meatheads who are always assholes. They aren't always the buffest, but you can tell at a glance that they think they're hot shit and that everyone else lives to entertain them. Theses are *mostly* cismem, and are always gym rats. 2) There are the new-year-new-me-ers who start of trying, then quickly reach a point there they sit around on equipment because technically they went to the gym. Hate to say it, but these are usually ciswomen, and they usually clear out by April. I find this group the most annoying since they aren't actually using equipment, but are taking it up anyway, and this group has a surprising number of people who turn their noses up. Since they're the most relatable to most people, the snubs from this group are harder than from the meatleads. I get the most hassle from this group. "Why do you want to use this thing when you're already skinny?" I literally had someone say that to me when I wanted to use the adductor machine. (I used to be 400 pounds, and worked my ass off, literally) They are definitely not gym rats. 3) The third group are the nice people who think it's just plain cool that someone's there trying. This group is equal parts both cisgenders and more transgender people (I've met a transgender asshole at the gym, ever--sadly, they're usually too afraid of getting kicked out if someone complains that they exist.) You will have buff buys and women who look like they could kick the Linda Hamilton's ass, and you'll have people who are obese and sadly almost always scared and looking apologetic for taking up space as if their existence is wrong, there's be thin people trying to maintain or strengthen their bodies, an everything in between. Since this group doesn't usually make nuisances of themselves, it's easy to think that there are more of the first two groups. Sometimes people in this group may look like they're looking at you, but since they tend to be focused on themselves, they could just be zoning out and you're in their line of sight. But this group really is the majority, and you'll find some gym rats in there, but definitely nice ones. The nice people are always overlooked thanks to the idiots who draw attention to themselves as if they want to be admired or to be seen at the gym and praised. If you want to go to the gym (presuming you have one open--we don't, and there isn't even a projected time that we'll get gyms back), then go ahead and go, and if someone is an ass to you, flip them off and know it's that they're insecure assholes who feel a need to be admired. When I'm there, I like to work my way over to the people I can tell are feeling shy or embarrassed to give them a compliment and encouragement, but without drawing attention to size.

I feel your pain. Ugh it is the most MADDENING thing! Right now there is a super problematic diet/weight loss ad going around Facebook that uses a cosplay photo of me in my Ariel costume (literally from 2010 at Comic con). I’ve had my online followers sending it to me for weeks and I can’t seem to get it taken down. It shows multiple other women (all dressed as Ariel, but clearly all different people - some even cast members at Disneyland) claiming we are the same girl. The verbiage they use is so gross too, and really disrespectful to women. And like you said, this is just one of many, but it’s the one that makes me the most angry. For years I’ve been sent these ads using my stolen photos, first with princess party companies acting like I worked for them, then with companies on Wish, Amazon and Ebay using images of me in my (one of a kind, custom made) costumes and wigs, acting like it’s their product and selling cheap rip offs. Even party city replicated one of my photo shoots and has been selling rip offs of a shirt from my clothing line as a Halloween costume for years. And people every year think it’s my product and send me congratulations messages about my “success” with it. 😓 And of course the Facebook ads. The ones using my hipster mermaid selfie for college courses 🤷♀️ was weird and annoying. But when they go into the realm of weight loss, it gets me really angry. I am so sorry you have to deal with this Sierra. You are amazing and you do not deserve to be treated like this! I hope by you making this video it will shed more light. Maybe I should make a vlog about my experience too to help spread the word that pple should not believe this stuff. That is one of the grossest thing I have ever heard of... I'm so disgusted that there are businesses out there that 1)straight up steal content for their ads, and 2) USE THOSE IMAGES TO PERPETUATE BODY SHAMING. Thank you for bringing this up, Sierra!

As a 15 year old that has been watching your videos for over two years now, I’m so happy that I was able to find your channel. Body positivity should be thought since we are little but sadly we live in a society where comparing people’s looks is better that accepting that we are all different and beautiful. I’m so glad I was able to get to know the body positivity movement at such a young age because I’m able to educate younger people (such as my three 6 year old sisters) and my friends/ family to accept themselves and their bodies for what they are and also to love others for who they are and not for their size. A few of my friends have told me how they started their own body positivity journey thanks to what I have told them which warms my heart everyday. Thank you Sierra for doing this same thing for hundreds of people out there. I love you ❤️

I mean sometimes it’s good to be real with yourself and realize that enough is enough. Being overweight isn’t healthy and a lot of times those people aren’t being real with themselves. Often times these people can be sensitive and take things personally when in actuality that’s not the case. Just showing a different perspective on it that’s all.
@musict43794 жыл бұрын
@@kamarwashington Making people feel ashamed and disgusted in themselves to lose weight is not a good way to do it. Sure do it enough and the person might lose the weight or try to lose it, but by then it's not out of wanting to be healthy, it's about not being fat anymore. And that kind of mindset can lead down a dangerous sad path. I know that happened to me. Point is, ads shouldn't make you feel like shit about your body. Because in the end all they want is your money, they dont care about you. In my opinion, if you are really worried about someones health, speak to them in private and be respectful, offer them your help. And if they decline, then whatever. It's their life.

When I started watching Sierra more I got so many ads about losing weight. Especially before her videos I see ads telling me how to burn fat, injections, pills, liposuction and fit teas. I’m not trying to lose weight. My parents are pressuring me into it. But at the end I’m not. I like my weight. Wtf KZbin?!
@mayar.89444 жыл бұрын
I’m really sorry that your parents are pressuring you to loose weight. It really cuts deep to hear people you love and have looked up to tell you that you need to loose weight, even if it’s coming from a good place it does more harm than good generally.

You know it’s bad when Sierra starts cursing... Jokes aside though, I totally understand this level of frustration. I think a lot of us have been/are on similar body and confidence journeys (hence why we’re here), and to have companies subvert the main message of this channel is so offensive and inappropriate.
@amber._.4 жыл бұрын
I've always found it very insidious that googling anything to do with body positivity or plus size fashion immediately causes every ad I see to be about weight loss, but I feel like this is another step further. You've been working so hard to build a community where everyone is allowed to exist as they are without being shamed for it, and those shady ads/companies are actively working to destroy that. I hope no one falls prey to them, thank you for making this video

ageism and fatphobia go hand in hand for these brands, they make you hate everything natural about yourself to sell you their awful products
@larossi854 жыл бұрын
Because, you know, if you get women to focus on fixing their 'ageing' problem (as well as 'fat problem') then you can't focus on more important things like crushing the patriarchy and social justice. That's why men are allowed to age more than women.

Anyone also getting dieting/weight loss ads on KZbin I recommend deleting "female" from your advertising preferences (access by clicking the 'i' in bottom left of the screen while an ad is playing). Sure I've had the odd "manscaping" ad but it's well worth it to me. Side note, I'm non-binary so tried deleting "female" in the past but I assume they saw my love of beauty videos and put "female" back so stay vigilant.
