For a bright mind as Joshua Beckford, it surely is terrible luck he had, talking to such a person for an interviewer. A little respect wouldn't hurt.

@@helenakina5357 : That kid is not a genius. Look at the video again carefully and tell me one thing that is even remotely intelligent. He speaks Japanese and yet struggles to extremely badly count to ten. This is some sort of scam.

You've got this right. The implication is that this boy attended Oxford at 6 years old, but that is not true. Many online tutoring companies try and incorporate Oxford into their names, and he attended one of those. This boy is Nigerian, his father has trained him like some kind of circus seal, and the world eats it up. It's all BS.

You realize it's all a fraud right? This kid never attended Oxford, they are from Nigeria, his father has trained him to be a fraud, it's all a scam for money. A terrible example for this boy.

yes she indeed managed to laught with him and made he feel at ease with the audience, but maybe if she didin't treat him like a child he wouldn't felt nervous at the first place. Looking at his choices in life, I think he demand at least some respect

Also, I didn’t think the interviewer did anything wrong. She was just trying to make Joshua feel comfortable not uncomfortable. Some people laugh when they are very nervous and when she was interviewing Joshua, she was also nervous too because I laugh when I’m very nervous as well. Well some people have there opinions but, I didn’t see anything bad or wrong of what she was doing, she was doing a fabulous job. ☺️But anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day today Henrique.😁😁😁

Young Joshua is from my home State of Kaduna, Nigeria, sadly kids don't have lots of role models to up to for greatness, it fills me with immense pride that now they do; in a kid of immense gifting

The interviewer laughs a lot and yet he is satisfied with it. He smiles and feels more assured. Thanks for talking about mother earth and speaking for the rights of children and adults

Why are you all hiting on the interviewer? she did a perfect job, she had a very friendly environment and needed to make the boy to relax, he is a kid by the way so it is only a trained interviewer will set that pace and at the same time get the information from him. She was not trying to disrespect him in no way or manner. See beyond your biases.

I quite agree with you. I see nothing in her method of interview. She kept an open friendly environment as he is still a kid. People need to just get over themselves over these little things. Great to see this amazing genius.

Exactly! I'd do same if I were to be the interviewer. This is how I relate with kids and even adults. Being childish when necessary is awesome! She is friendly and I love them both.

This is very adorable! This boy needs more encouragements, mentoring and he is good to go. He has chosen a lot of things to get involved in but at this age, it is normal. As time goes by, he will learn to let others go and focus on what he is most passionate about. i wish him well and thank TedX for this presentation.

I think she’s is just very soft spoken and all her giggling is probably because she thinks he’s absolutely adorable. I agree with you that’s she’s is doing a great job interviewing such a smart little darling.

@Kimbo : Watch it again, critically. The kid is very average or below average. Why is he there ? This is the strangest thing I've seen on youtube and it seems no one is actually looking. The interviewer was really unprofessional... Just because one didn't accomplish the same things at his age, doesn't mean one should laugh at the mention of any of his ambitions. They shouldn't forget that he's still a child. The impact of being laughed at as he explains what he loves and aspires to do can have a negative effect on his development. Hope one day he has an interview that truly highlights his brilliant young mind.

Has this interviewer a nervous disposition or did she take gas and air before she conducted the interview? She really did not allow us to see the brilliance of this young man and yes he did a great job in the face of the adversity of poor interviewing skills. Just listen to the message in his words politicians.

Thank you Jasper, it seem the people in these comments are being more patronizing than the interviewer herself. I read in the comments one person say thats not impressive my kids spoke 3 languages fluently by the age of 10, like really, that is so counterproductive.

He can't shine by himself, he needs prompting. My kids were more clever than him at eleven. He is allowed to say anything and isn't questioned at all. You can see it's a big scam.

I had the same thoughts. All children deserve respect. I hope someone discussed this with her so she can learn how to talk with children. I doubt very much if she realizes it's a bit condescending.

You know that this is a lie right? The lad did not attend the University of Oxford at all. He simply completed an online set of lessons run by a private company who happened to use 'Oxford' in their name! He's a cute lad but his father should be ashamed at using him like t his for his own ends!

Is JBeckford / Child Author and Ted Speaker, book ready! Ready to read it! Yes the interviewer at his presentation was a bit, so, so! However i think she was not been partonising. She knew as woman that despite his high performance he is still a young child. She behaved with curiosity and interest, he was oblivious to what most of the comments indicated. 💦❤💦🙏

Reality: He never went to Oxford University. This shows how reliable TedX is as a source of information. He can count to 10 in Japanese, my kids are moderately clever and spoke three languages and one dialect fluently at the age of 10.

Yeah the promotion of this kid seems to be geared towards people that have never had kids and don't know how impressive the average child can be at a young age. I suspect this kind of promotion is one of those "diversity" things that liberals do.

@@KimberlyHarge My kids aren't exceptional. Where I live it's quite normal to speak multiple languages fluently. English is my wife's third language. It's hard work for the kids: learning languages does not come for free, but they manage. Beckford is not 'shining', he's being abused. His father said he has taken courses in Japanese but he can barely count to 10. He needs to get off the stage and back into school working but his father has persuaded himself that his son is a genius. Find me one thing the kid said that wasn't the result of him being coached

She is part of the fraud. She asks him leading questions. All he knows about Japanese is to count to 10. Nothing else. So she asks him to count to ten in Japanese and he does so. And his dad tells him he speaks Japanese now. He’s no different than the average kid, maybe less.

I thought she did a wonderful job : he was obviously not able to speak with out her giving him questions ! She did great ! I was extremely shocked at all he knows and has done for his young age ! And everyone else was laughing , he was very charming

I really don’t know why anyone would think this or get this conclusion? She is very impressed with not only his smarts but him as a child. She obviously has not been in the pressence of genious or she would not be reacting to him as she is. She is human and in ahhh of an 11yr olds brillance! Interviewers do this with elderly who do amazing things at their age, too. Be amazed by this young man and glad he has been discovered and we know about it now

I don't know why I had a feeling he had austism when he first started speaking he seem very bright His poem is amazing I'm baffled why everyone is bashing the interviewer I honestly think she was just nervous and because of that she kept laughing This interview was great to listen too This how I was when I was in primary school always talking on I want the world to change for the better for poverty and war to end that still my passion today and more Any way please all of you stop bashing the interviewer Don't judge her its not right People laugh for all kinds of reasons I know she was repeating what he said but there could be many reasons behind that and I mean personal reasons on her behalf I have had people think I'm rude when i'm certainly not this is what happens when others judge instead of acknowledging that not everything is about them Everyone is going through stuff Some is for a short period, some will be for life All depends what it is
