even if the battery can last more than that i dont think the heat that it produce can make you hold it in your hand on the highest setting... the heat must be insane for the small body light at that lumen..

Nice torch and review 👍🏽 but the (also Chinese made ) Fenix TK35 2018 UE gives some good competition and is very similar in many many ways. PLus, 3200 lumens & it’s using two 18650’s which actually gives a better grip IMO and the obvious benefits of having an extra 18650 in there. Check it... but just sayin 🔦 😉

always a tradeoff, the higher the output the shorter the battery life, no matter what the battery is called. Personally I never have had the need for over 500 HONEST LM. I. also only need a low and hi setting, everything else is an accident waiting to happen. In a high pressure situation I do not want to mess with strobes and 8 different settings. Its fairly easy to find a 10 buck light with a good switch, Cree, with 500 lumens. I do not need a nightcore or fenix for the price.

500 lumens is ok for most tasks but 1000 lumens is needed sometimes, ive never needed more than 1k. Its really nice to have a moonlight mode (1-5 lumens) for a night light when you just wakeup or just to keep it on for lighting at night. Ive also used the 5 lumen mode to check someones pupils or to look at reflective surfaces which would blind me on higher modes. You should check out the olight s1r, its got just enough light and runtime for daily use and its the best edc light ive found, there are 3 regular modes which you switch between by holding down the button while its on and all the other special modes are accessed through special clicks so they dont get in the way but are there when you need them.

Living in the "free" United Kingdom I am hoping the Authorities did not hear you say that the torch could be used in self defence by employing the serrated end against an attacker, otherwise I suspect the torch will be declared illegal here next week. And if you think for one moment I am joking, just try defending yourself and watch what happens. I can almost guarantee you will be arrested on the spot, and the "alleged" attacker will walk free. This country is coming apart, and only a few of the citizens are even remotely aware of the potentially dangerous future ahead.

Supposedly, the light will remember the current setting when you turn it off. So if you turn it off in 2800 lumen mode, yeah, it'll come back on at that intensity. But if you turn it off while it's on low, it will come back on at _that_ setting. That's what the Nitecore web store says anyway.

DANIEL LONG I recently got the MH27UV for xmas. I got to say I like it a lot. I got it with 2 18650 2300mah batteries and charging set. I haven't looked at specs as to if it will take the 3500 battery. I was out in the road when I saw this video. Anyways the only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a quick set button for strobe light, you have to turn it on and then press both +&-. I also have the power Tac warrior gen 3 that does offer that but in all honesty MH27UV is superior in current technology such as it being able to be charge using a micro USB and multiple light settings. I only wish one or the other would add each other's technology and include a zoom in and out option.

I think this is a good torch, and no instant strobe on a tactical light equals instant fail for me, so that's a plus. Poor battery life, memory mode, and the mediocre throw distance all add up to a no thanks from me. Granted, throw isn't the domain of a tactical, but other lights of this size and smaller are doing it better. Also the 40mm head whilst not big, is too big for my liking as an EDC, too big for a lot of pockets. With all this in mind I prefer the Klarus XT range, because apart from the lumens of this beast, they are just better in my opinion. It's definitely a good light, just falls ever so slightly short for my preferences.

Most flashlight using 18650 and 21700 or other like that with outrageously high lumen output is just a marketing gimmicks. Because most of them run in Turbo mode gets extremely hot for the LED and body and the battery. Most these flashlights get extremely hot that you were not able to handle it. Its because the flashlight is used as a heat sink for the components especially the Light Emitting Diode. Diode is a solid state electronics and semiconductor. As we all know Electronics especially semiconductors dont like heat. Thats why you see computer processors and video cards nowadays have very huge heat sink and cooling fans. And more creative in heat sink design. Some even use thermo electric cooler or even water cooling. Excessive heat will destroy semiconductors. Yes they are rugged in construction but extreme heat can destroy them. Heat can also destroy the battery itself.

A comment I heard on iTube lately made me think. The Government has made self-defence virtually illegal here possibly for a very good reason. Solicitors and lawyers make a substantial living from court cases, especially involving victims of crime. So what better way to make them even more money than practically encouraging criminals to act, thereby guaranteeing a solicitor another court case. The outcome doesn't matter because he collects his fee anyway. All these people are rich, privileged buddy boys, especially those in government, all looking out for each other. We,on the other hand, are expendable.
