@@Alan_and_Shannon I know you didn’t necessarily mean it that way, but I don’t really think that is a compliment. the diaspora countries like ours keep the precious, longstanding Chinese traditions and culture alive. The mainland… by literal policy even… does not.
Fabulous couple love that they are changing perceptions and educating overseas people on all these countries! Well done guys!!

That flavor that makes your tongue tingle is Monosodium glutamate (MSG). If you got heart palpitations, or shortness of breath or perhaps a headache. then you know what caused it. it is the worlds 3rd most popular "spice". its a drug, a flavor enhancer. many people cant eat it at all. it has caused what was once known as "Chinese food syndrome". People have been disabled because of it. Many people have had to go to the hospital after eating Chinese food that their cook got a little aggressive with the MSG. i can stand it a little and my sister can stand it in small amounts but my Mom cant eat it in anything.

Philippines history was they there? History:Yes Because' Binondo in Manila celebrated on February 1 its 430th year making it as the oldest Chinatown in the world. Binondo has served as the center of Chinese commerce and migration in the Philippines for over four centuries. It is the oldest Chinatown in the world, established in 1594 by the Spaniards as a settlement near Intramuros but across the Pasig River for Catholic Chinese; it was positioned so that the colonial administration could keep a close eye on their migrant subjects. Spain established its first permanent settlement in the Philippines in 1565. Spanish colonial control of the Philippines continued until 1898, when the United States took possession of the islands as a territory after winning the Spanish-American War. The Philippine Revolution, a struggle for independence from Spanish colonial rule, had been ongoing since 1896, and news that the US would replace Spain as colonial overlord was unwelcome to many Filipinos. The First Philippine Republic declared independence and established a constitutional government in 1899, which American military officials viewed as an act of insurrection. Later that year, the Philippine-American War broke out as the Republic declared war on the United States. By 1902, when the U.S. Congress passed legislation creating the Philippine Assembly, hundreds of thousands of Filipinos had been killed or died of famine or disease as a result of the brutal war. World War ll When Japanese invasions happens the objective of the strikes at Pearl Harbor and the Philippines was to shield Japan's drive southward to seize the oil and natural resources of Southeast Asia and the Dutch East Indies. The strategy was to clear the US forces in the Philippines out of the way. While a series of U.S. federal laws gradually increased the amount of legislative authority Filipinos had in their own country, the Philippines was initially administered by an American Governor General and appointed American members of the Philippine Commission as the U.S. military continued to pacify indigenous populations throughout the islands. Though Japan took control of the Philippines during World War II, it returned to U.S. control after the war. In 1946, the U.S. and the Philippines signed the Treaty of Manila, whereupon the United States recognized the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of the Philippines. The Treaty contained a provision that allowed the U.S. to retain existing military bases and assets, which the U.S. continues to actively use. The Japanese occupation of the Philippines occurred between 1942 and 1945 during WWII. Filipinos staged guerrilla resistance against the Japanese until 1945. The Philippines was liberated from Japanese control by Allied forces in 1944. The Philippines was granted full independence by the United States in 1946.
