@samoanjoseph14575 ай бұрын
@@hayleypalm6975 I mean I guess if he fired all the people not working, the one guy that was working would quit because he's not going to do it all by himself. Or at least he's not going to be in the bar alone with Church, need some bodies between them. And if Lee's logic is to fire the one good worker, you know he can't be bothered to replace the entire staff. And as everyone kept saying, Church didn't work there, so firing him wasn't an option. But I appreciated that unlike almost every other fired employee, L-Boogie's exit interview was calm and straightforward. He wasn't crazy or furious, he told it like it was. And he's probably got a decent future as a bouncer, if it comes to that.

So I used to work at a bowling center. I wasn't trained on bar, but I would make drinks a couple times when the bartender was sick and we were finding coverage or whatever. Do you know HOW MANY CUSTOMERS were more than happy to wait an extra few minutes after I put a smile on my face and said in a cheerful tone "Hey, I'm not a bartender, but I can definitely serve you, so give me a second to look it up and I'm happy to make it!" I've been to bars before where the bartender gave me a friendly "Ya know, I'm new, so I'm not sure the answer to your question, but let me check," or "Oh, it's my first night, so I have to check the book, but I can absolutely make that!" It's all about a friendly attitude. If you're doing your best, people are forgiving. And there's a difference between "not fully trained yet, but working on it and will definitely have the ropes in a couple weeks" and "just doesn't give a shit." Most of these bartenders just don't give a shit.
@umungus5182 жыл бұрын

It's about humility, respect, and customer service. Honesty and being earnest will get you everywhere. Some of the veterans still haven't learned the new menu by heart but they'll never turn anything down, will just look at what's in it and immediately go from there. I see a pattern with all of these owners where none of them are treating a bar like a business. It’s just a good time where they can hire their shitty friends not to do the job they’re supposed to do. Do you really need someone to come in there and tell you that your employees shouldn’t be arguing with customers and getting drunk behind the bar? All these mistakes are just common sense

You know, there’s something really funny about these bartenders not knowing how to make some of the simplest drinks. Now, I’m no bartender myself, but at my workplace, a local restaurant, we have some kind of cheat key-chain that has all the kinds of drinks and how to do them (lubejob, orgasm, old fashioned, etc.) Can they just NOT have any of those at hand?
@holzcartoonz99622 жыл бұрын
Well, it requires them to care somewhat about their job and the place. Yout noticed, that you have a problem and found a solution for it. And they don't care enough, to think of it as a problem. And the main difference between them and you is, that knowing how to make drinks, is a big chunk of their job. It's like a mechanic, who doesn't know, what which tool does, or how a car functions.

@@awesomesauce2000 Depends on the place. A cheat sheet/reference sheet to refresh your memory if you don't make them all the time is a nice thing to have. The second bar looks like a dive bar. They shouldn't have to know how to make luxurious cocktails. It's a beer bar. Now yes, they were a little rude, but it's a beer bar, not a cocktail bar. They even stated it themselves. The only cricticism I have of this show is that they expect dive bars to make luxurious cocktails and when they don't, they criticize them. If you want a luxurious cocktail, go to a cocktail bar. Not a dive bar. Other than that, I love this show.

There's no such thing as a "beer bar" that actually makes money. The beer bar claim is just an excuse for not having a competent staff. Instead of blaming the bartenders for the owners failed business practices, you should focus on staffing the place for each position, cut some staff in other areas, VOLUME. I’ve been a bartender for 15 years, and this would piss me right off-having to do every position to save the business money is disgusting. When I’m hired somewhere, I expect to do the job I was hired for. Period. I shouldn’t be responsible for everything else while my customers and attitude suffer.
