It's why Gordon stopped doing Kitchen Nightmares. The 2 restaurants that succeeded couldn't outweigh the 20 that failed, mostly because they went back to old ways. _(On the rare occasion, they actually did well, but other reasons got them to shut down. That usually wasn't the case though.)_ While Bar Rescue is still going, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Taffer stopped for the same reasons as well

I lasted about two weeks in one of these kitchens. Not one of these specifically, just the type. Can't think of a single thing about the place that wasn't broken, nasty, or fucked up. Including the owners and staff. It should be obvious that there is a direct correlation between how much alcohol is consumed and how fucked up a bar gets, how it got that way, and how much you care about it.

As for the "cancer researchers", I doubt strongly they are what they purport to be. Labs used in cancer research have very very high and mandated standards regarding safety, hygiene, contamination, and the safe and proper storage of materials. Of all the people who could run a bar safely, it would be researchers in the field of biology. So, something is very wrong with their backstory.

What everybody in this comment section is ignoring is the obvious. These owners werent paying attention to the bar or kitchen to know that they are in bad shape. They werent managing the place, that is the problem. They mainly just cared about the front of the house, but were bad even at that. Like most owners, they thought if they kept throwing money at the problem, it would be solved by others and they can wash their hands of the problem. People have blinders on about a lot of things when they dont care about it enough, and the whole idea in the first place was he wanted a real old school bar from Casablanca but movies and fantasy never focus on the details and neither were these guys. Reminds me of the woman that bought a restaurant because she had her wedding in it decades ago so she bought it with her divorce money. :/
@xavariusquest4603
@xavariusquest4603 Жыл бұрын
@@waltermh111 I understand the point and your examples. If these were random businessmen who were the "money" side rather than operation sided...then yes. The issue remains that it requires a very special kind of person...educated, professional, clean, hyper-organized, detailed, and having great patience...to be involved with "cancer research". These guys...well...display none of those characteristics. In fact, your description of them is antithetical to scientific research of any kind.
