Most of these vehicles are FAR from the worst cars. They may have been marketing missteps or shy first steps into a market they were new to, but that's it. Some were bad, but not the worst. Generally, most on this list were still were well made vehicles and priced well, especially compared to the crap we have today. I think the only vehicles that truly belong on this list are the Dodge Van (bad mechanicals), 2nd Gen Chevrolet Cavalier / Pontiac Sunfire (bad mechanicals and quality control), Daewood Lanos, Nubira, and Leganza (so bad Daewood no longer sell cars in the US), and the Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible (typical 80s malaise still plaguing GM). This video needs to go back and revise its criteria for what is bad. Bad marketing and sales doesn't make a car bad. Bad design, construction, fit and finish, quality control, safety, handling, unreliable mechanical or electrical functions are what make a car bad.

Yeah the guy making those videos must be retarded especially by using AI, I've had a 1997 CL 2.2 with the 2.2 engine, it wasn't a fast car and it was never meant to be (and honestly I don't give a fuck about this) but it was still running strong, cheap on gas and parts. Here's the kicker : the car was a hand me down by my parents in 2015 and by then it had already over 500 000km, I live in a rust area so that was kind of inevitable but other than that it was great, I miss that car to this day as my current 2012 Nissan Sentra SER door pannel armrest side broke off, that shit never happened with the old Acura 😂
@karlbeaupre68132 ай бұрын
I've heard the Honda's automatic transmissions coupled with the V6 were notorious for poor reliability, it's a shame as otherwise the J V6 are underrated engines. My old 97 had the 2.2 and the transmission only started slipping when it was over 500 000km, at the time I was also a dumb kid that I was doing 1-2-3 drive with the automatic transmission, which I regret it to this day 😅

7:42 - Wrong. The Catera was an admission by GM that they're making the wrong vehicles to compete with the Europeans, namely BMW and Mercedes. They needed a sports sedan with RWD and sophistication. Catera was more of a case study than a final project. The lesson wasn't "wE nEeD a DiStInCt DeSiGn," which then led to the CTS. The lesson was "we need agility, horsepower, sophistication, and a new identity." That's why CTS was so starkly different from the bloated FWD shit Cadillac was selling before then.

Ok a SAAB on this list? The heck? First off, GM fully bought Saab in 2000, not the 90s, and Saab was really it's own company until then. Saab actually LOST money on the cars because they were trying to keep the original. Also, The 900 was NOT with the Opel, that was the 9-3. Lastly, half of the pictures of the Saabs shown are not even the same generation? Get it right smh.

The Jag XJ220 wasn't a bad car, just ridiculously overpriced. Daewoo were just cheap crap and probably the worst 1990's cars, closely followed by Mercedes Benz with their stupid wiring harness that degrades and costs almost the same as the car to replace. Nissan was also a problem. With cars that would fall apart and mechanical problems that were expensive to fix.

I still have my 1996 Toyota T100 SR5 extracab with the 3.4L engine I bought off the showroom floor. It's been the best vehicle I have ever had. It had the highest quality rating of any vehicle made during those years and was the last truck actually made in Japan. The bed is full size with a 2,000 lb. payload rating which is more than any 1/2 ton full sized pick up today. A truck this size would sell well today as trucks made now are as big as tanks
@eightbitw0rldАй бұрын
The Toyota Pickup was one of the greatest small pickup trucks of all time. Trucks do not have to be huge to be useful, the new F150s and RAMs have a smaller bed size than the T100. My dad used to pick me up in kindergarten TO my high school years in his pickup. He sold it to his brother at 350k+ miles to his brother and drove it for years until it rust took it. That truck saw so many lawn mowers and couches that he would help do utility work. Toyota blows american cars out of the water any day of the week. And the CL has the most reliable engines ever made. I never see old american cars on the road but when I do see old cars, they're almost- always a corolla, camry, accord, or civic or their derivatives; barely an example of the worst 90s cars.
