As the largely aesthetics-free 1970s came to a close, it was clear that the 1980s would be a decade of bold design. The '80s did yield some beautiful cars, but also brought forth some horrifically ugly ones. Here are twenty of the worst offenders.

Did he just say nonsense about the Panda? The Alfa Romeo Milano (Alfa Romeo 75 in the rest of the world) is a legendary car and magnificent for its intended purpose. But it's fun to hear the opinions of mentally challenged people, even if recited by a synthetic voice.

Panda was made for narrow European city roads. I lived in Greece for 16 years, in the Athens there was so many of SEAT Panda and Marbella, FIAT Cinquecento. "American Legends" you really don't know where and how these little cars are used in everyday life.

0:50 - You missed the mark with the Panda. Yes, it might not be that nice from an "American legend" point of view, but it was conceived ground up rationally and 4.5 million units sold confirm that it was not that ugly and that people loved it (and many of them regret they don't build it like that anymore). 2:36 - That's not a Brooks Stevens' Studebaker SS: it's an original 1936/39 SS Jaguar 100, the first one to bear the Jaguar brand name. 5:07 - I agree with you even though I'm Italian: the Mondial was and is an ugly car. 10.07 - The car you show at this point is not the large model you think, it is the "Giulietta" instead, ancestor of the same segment as the Milano (in Europe, model "75"), same wheelbase but a whopping eight inches shorter than the Milano. May I suggest you to focus on American cars, where you show greater expertise?

My first new car was a 1980 4-speed Toyota Tercel. And to date, it was the easiest, cheapest car to maintain. The oil filter was right on the side, easily within arm's reach. The spark plugs were right on top of the engine. Lots of room between the radiator and fan belt with a mechanical fan, no electric fan. It was front-wheel drive but the engine was traditionally mounted, not transverse. Unfortunately, after 7 years, my girlfriend was driving it one day and got hit from behind. Totaled!

You were right about Lincoln Mark VII. I thought Mark VIII was worlds better than what came before( Mark VII). You were right about the 1985-1990 C and H and E Body GM cars. I could not agree more. Too small and not distinctive at all. I am a GM owner and fan and I am saying that. They did not fix the styling until starting in 1989 model through 1992. How they looked then is how they should have looked in the 1980's.

Gotta disagree re the Panda, it looks exactly as it should. Simple, no frills and in proportion. All the flat glass and panels was to make over seas production (likely under license) in countries without a well developed industrial base. Trunciated and dodgy looking rear ends however, always a fail. And I like the look of the Subaru XT, S-Cargo and Pulsar NX is at least interesting.

Right from the beginning there are blunders. It's Daimler (Dime-ler) not Dame-ler. Judas Priest man, learn how to speak properly. In addition the sentiments about construction, engineering, reliability, etc., have nothing to do with the vehicles' appearance. Lastly, when arguing a certain point of view, it weakens your contention to constantly refer to yourself as "We, Us or Our" especially when it's blatantly obvious it's just your opinion.
