You hit the nail on the head with this list! I've been a life long Braves fan oddly enough because I was born in Brooklyn New York. That only attest to just how good the Braves are as an organization. They are so rich in team, as well as, franchise history. Being one of the very 1st professional MLB teams when it all began in 1866 or 67, I believe. They've always been a team that relied on the players they drafted for team success. That's what a franchise is truly supposed to be about. It's great to have money to spend. But not when you're spending the money to buy championships like the Yankees and Dodgers. Why draft and develop good players if you're not planning to promote them because all you wanna do is buy superstars to win?! This video is a perfect example as to why money hasn't been the only means for the teams success. Great job!

eddie's 2023 stats were by no means great, but it felt to me like he had that clutch factor for a lot of the year and you could always count on him in the big moments. there were a couple stretches too when he was practically the hottest hitter in the league, and on a lineup with that much talent, i'd say even with the overall average stats he served us quite well in 2023
@homerunproductions16211 ай бұрын
Yeah those clutch moments stand out if you follow the team day by day, doesnt pop out of the stat sheet as much

That's what I was thinking too. He's one of those players who makes far more of an impact than the numbers show.

Yea Eddie had a lot of game winning hits

Eddie was worth the money we paid for him , I wouldn’t have minded if we picked up his 8 million dollar option this season.

The one really good thing about trading BJ Upton was that trading him and Kimbrel to the Padres got the Braves Austin Riley.

Well, both actually. The Braves got Max Fried and they got the 41st pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, which became Austin Riley.

Len Barker’s extension was almost as bad as trading for him, and trading for him was one of the worst trades of the 1980s.
@s.henrlllpoklookout506911 ай бұрын
I know this doesn't count since it's a trade rather than a contract, but 20 years later I'm STILL pissed that we traded a prospect named Adam Wainwright for JD Drew in Drew's last contract year before he hit free agency
@AT-dx9pf6 ай бұрын
In all fairness Drew had his best season and without him the division streak would've ended.

You nailed it. Upton is def the worst. Got to admit that the Braves don't offer many bad contracts as compared to other clubs
@MrLaneSir11 ай бұрын
From most of the contracts I saw on this list were mostly "Frank Wren" contracts. Most of them were under his watch. And as a result it was canned after winning the 2013 division.

Greatest missed opportunity of the 2010s was that Braves team early in the decade. They were all set to supplant the Phillies as the division’s front runner.

When it comes to Marcell Ozuna he still has this year and next year on his contract if he continues to play like he did last season and helps the Braves win another World Series or 2 it will end up being a Very Good Contract.... WAIT AND SEE.............................

Thank you for this! Oh boy Mike Hampton...he was around when I first started watching the Braves. Didn't see much of him! He said something pretty funny after signing with Colorado. Somebody in the media asked him why he chose that club. He answered that he liked the Denver school system lmao.

I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of players choose their teams based on what their wives and families want

I would take out Sutter he was on some terrible Braves teams and the number 2 on bad contracts would be Kenshin Kawakami. Check his stats and salary if you disagree with me.
