As someone who drove around with his phone number on his vehicle for 20 years, I totally agree and I have said the same thing. "Imagine if EVERYONE had their phone number on their vehicle." I have received calls from drivers who thought they were calling the business owner but I was the only one in the office so I received the phone call about MY driving. PEOPLE ARE LIARS!!!! I've had multiple calls where these people were literally making stuff up about my driving and of course never mentioned that they may have done anything wrong. It truly was SHOCKING to hear how badly people will just flat out lie when they feel that they have been "wronged" on the road". "Calling In" on someone who has a company vehicle means absolutely nothing because the caller will NEVER admit any wrong doing and they will make it sound like your driver just randomly picked them out to harass them. If you're one of these "Call in Karens", stop it because nobody believes you and it makes YOU look stupid.

I’m a retired fireman, and sometimes someone would have one of the compartment doors on the side of the rig closed but not latched. First run we’d get, first turn on that side we’d have tools and equipment all over the roadway, we called it a yard sale. Another thing, the PITA customers, my tattoo guy charges what he calls the A hole tax. Some people unknowingly pay more.

Our quotation terms - Owner to locate and provide location of all property/boundary bars -. Customer: "I'll show you where the property line is and where to install the corner post...........it's right where this oak tree is. My grandfather planted it 75 years ago right on the corner of the property." Me: "Ma’am, are you sure? Aerial maps is showing your property line is approx. 15ft to the west" "I'm hiring you, so you put the darn fence where I tell you to put it!" Months later, neighbor calls and got a survey that fence is 15ft on his property. SMH.

6:36 legal issue? As a lawyer, I can’t even remotely fathom any kind of legal issue with using a customers tractor that is voluntarily being offered to you. Could you explain what legal issues you were facing by using his tractor? I’m always excited to learn. Love the channel by the way! You guys are incredibly talented at making fence building videos entertaining and fun! Keep it up!✌️

Not being lawyers, we're making assumptions. But if his tractor broke while I was using it, or he felt like I was too hard on the machine, or if I scratched it, couldn't that create problems? We've had people complain about some weird things.

I’m a pm for a carpentry subcontractor that does high end homes, one of my installers overheard the homeowner say “if contractor make money, I didn’t do my job”, needless to say we are fighting a 15k back charge

Curious: for privacy fences, do you install sliding gates, similar to barn doors? There should be no gaps for sight lines. More complex to install, I suspect.

There's an opportunity in the 1" gate gap problem. After market Gate Gap covers. Plastic, wood, or metal. Different colors. Solar LED lights embedded. Security cameras and microphones attached. Recyclable. Non-hazardous. Safe around pets.
@chiefsilverbackАй бұрын
I was thinking if there are options for a some kind of flexible 'seal' that could be installed on either side of the gate to fill the gap but also allow for expansion and contraction? Growing up in the UK gates in privacy fences would normally be recessed slightly and stops would be installed on both posts.

Thing about fences is they're no thing of beauty. They serve two purposes to keep something in and to keep things out. You can do the scallop or the weaving or the chain link but they're still just a fence.
@finallyfriday.9 ай бұрын
I dunno. Hiding some of the muglies that live on the other side of that fence does make it a thing of "beauty".

Dealing with a customer now, we get 90-95% done with project customer comes out I don't like that let's change that so I write up a change order at the agreed extra cost, we get done with that change.... customer decides they don't like that change, let's make another change, so another change order on agreed price plus the previous change order with the agreed price by both parties....now we're bleeding a week into another scheduled project, so we're on clean up I hand home owner the final bill........ you would have thought I handed them a declaration of war... I hear excuse after excuse my husband's a cop this is illegal my brother is an attorney you'll be hearing from him and so on and so on, this is my first lawsuit ever in this business

I hope your original contract was written or at least approved by an attorney. If so you should be in pretty good shape, especially with the signed change orders, amending the original contract. It’s a ‘PITA’ just the same.
