People need to calm down on hating others for making "negative lists". Honestly, making and watching these list help me a lot in figuring out what kind of things I like and dislike in books, which is important and helps improve my experience for the next year. No offense but why do you need to hear what others like or dislike in order to know what you like and dislike in a book? Firm your own opinions girl. Be an individual. If you can't even think for yourself what other dysfunctions must you experience.
@renee_33643 жыл бұрын
@@phillipstroll7385 Thanks for your concern about my daily "dysfunctions", but don't worry: I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinions. I don't use these lists to let others tell me what to like or dislike, but I do enjoy hearing other people's thoughts about the things I liked or dislike. Disagreeing and hearing the *why* behind other people's opinions is part of the joy in consuming any type of media for me. The goal isn't to "form my own opinion", it's more so to do with understanding why I feel that way, and why others might feel differently.
@phillipstroll73853 жыл бұрын
@@renee_3364 but you said watching helps you decide what you like and don't like. Hence why I mentioned it. Now you're saying you don't. So in that case, goodbye. If one can't defend their own thoughts I really don't care what they have to say. Thank you and Good luck to you.

Like he was supposed to be an example of cruel innocence and what happens when you refuse to "grow up" (grow up in the sense that you start to take responsibility for your actions and grow as a person.) However, if you want a really good book about a nice Peter Pan with lots of adventure and magic, I reccomend "Peter and the Starcatchers," which I read instead of the original Peter Pan!

Demonata - this was my favourite book series as a kid and until recently I'd often say Lord Loss was my favourite book, though I will concede that as I've got older I remember them less fondly. I think there's middle grades that are accessible to both kids and adults (Percy Jackson, for example) and other ones that are only really entertaining when you're younger, I think most of Shan's books are the latter - though he's a top bloke, I've met him 3 times 😁 Fear Street - I like these because they're simple and quick, sometimes in between a long arduous fantasy you just want something you can tune out to read in between your next big book - that's what the Fear Streets are to me, though I definitely recognise most of them aren't that good, I just usually keep my expectations low whenever I pick one up. Most of them are 3 stars at best but my favourites, out of the ones I've read, are College Weekend and Halloween Party - because they both had really unsettling atmospheres and had twists I was genuinely surprised at so I'd definitely recommend those two at least! Just goes to show that most of them are forgettable because the films were based on the location as opposed to the stories 😂 Girl on the Train - I mean, I thought the film was alright 🤷🏼

I didn’t like The Starless Sea either!! I was so confused and I felt like I was missing something. I have The Night Circus and I’m hesitant on reading it because I DNF’d The Starless Sea and I feel like I might do the same thing with The Night Circus…

Ive been meaning to go back and read the reimagining of peter pan series, Peter and the Starcatchers..Ive never seen anyone talk about it on booktube, has anyone else read it? Or even heard of it?

I think people need to chill. I really enjoyed The Final Girl Support Group, but it doesn't bother me if you didn't like it. I love to hear about why people don't like books I do. What someone loves from a book, other people just don't. And that's definitely okay. The reading world would be pretty boring if everyone, loved or hated the same books. Now to go back and watch you talking about Den Of Viper, because I know its definitely coming.

You should read Priest by Sierra Simone! Or you could read Saint (follows the brother from priest) it’s m/m and so gut wrenching and sexy and one of my fav romances of the year!

My secret to limiting disappointing and lackluster reads is reading the first chapter and then the last. If I don't like the ending I don't read it. I am one of those atypical readers that do not mind spoilers at all. It does not diminish my reading enjoyment in the least.

I’m a white wine drinker but I’ve got to have a bit of lemonade with it! Great video ☺️

Not a wine drinker. Perhaps I'm a big baby, but I've never been able to enjoy the taste of any alcohol. There's one drink I like because you can't taste it in there, but even a lot of those fruity drinks, I can't handle because I can taste it. =/

I found Peter pan to be incredibly boring to read. I'm pretty sure that it was due to the old fashioned language of 100+ years ago. I have the secret garden on a 2022 challenge (the prompt is to read a book with a secret) and if you didnt like that either, then I dont hold out too much hope for me liking it any better. Maybe I better find a more recent book with a secret. LOL
