Ahahahah! This was hilarious ! Well done Bart for trying it. I was lucky to visit Iceland recently, it is such a beautiful country and i loved the arctic char! Had never tried it before, it’s not a fish you commonly find in Italy.

Haha thanks C Rod, happy to have made you laugh. The cod coming from Iceland is very beautiful and tasty. It's just the recipe with the lamb fat that I didn't like. But the fish itself is great! Hope you will get a chance to taste it one day. You can then use my recipe to prepare it ;-) Find it in the box below! Cheers

Hi Bart, long time fan here, I just wanted to say I have MASSIVE respect for you being honest enough to upload this. Most of the bigger food channels would never have the guts to admit something didn't turn out well. I don't know if you like the taste of land animals, but they are a completely different flavor than fish!! That's just how you live and learn. :)
@Bartsfishtales6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mystic, happy to have shared this now even more! I'm not a picky eater, but just this taste was really not my favourite. Have you ever tried it? You are right about land animals and fish, but I can actually appreciate surf and turf for example. This combo just wasn't for me! Happy to read you've enjoyed the video anyways :)

I am from Nova Scotia, we eat salt cod with pork fat, potatoes and veggies. It was one of the old staples in fishing communities.

Nice Armand, it sounds quite similair! I've been to Nova Scotia for lobster fishing. Cool to read that you have cod-eating-traditions as well. Should've tried it when I was there! Is the dish you describe something you eat often, or more like a festive dish? Cheers!

Hey Gary, this video then wasn't that much of a surprise to you. This smoke alarm just kept going and going! Regards the dish: yes. Please stick with butter. You will love it then, I'm sure. Cod is such a great fish, it doesn't need much! Cheers and happy cooking.

Bart you are a valiant man! your face after tasting the cod bathed in lamb fat was priceless. Was it the lamb fat on the fish that put you off? or the fish over night? or?
@Bartsfishtales6 жыл бұрын
Hi Vilhelm, it was the lamb fat for sure. The cod is just beautiful in Iceland, it's one of my favourite species. Salting it over night helps to keep the fish firm while poaching it. Really delicious actually! But the lamb fat... that wasn't for me. Would you try it? Otherwise go for my version of this dish with butter! Recipe link in bio. Cheers!
