Oh my GOD, I knew about idols’ debt and all that but to hear that the MADTOWN members getting *evicted* from their dorms through no fault of their own truly shocked me. And to hear them talk about essentially being homeless with no car or manager and still showing up bright-eyed to work hard on The Unit everyday, I actually felt my heart break. And if their senior group MBLAQ was so successful, why did they stop making albums for them? The company was just setting them up to fail. They had so much potential. I stan mostly popular groups from well-off companies so I guess I never considered the issues that come with being from a broke/mismanaged company. Thank you so much for educating me with this series.

I never stanned any of them, but I saw the 2013 MBLAQ episode of After School Club and two MadTown members were on the ASC After Show that ran throughout 2014. Honestly they both seemed to have so much potential, cause they had pretty good songs and MBLAQ was SO successful. Truly epitomes of the saying “What if?”, cause truly I wonder how companies make such stupid decisions that cost them such amazing groups 💔💔. I just hope all the members of both groups are doing well wherever they are ❤️💕❤️
@nick38053 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. But at least J.Tune camp only had 2 groups ruined. Chrome had 5 groups they completly ruined. The worst case is K-Much who were awaited as Got7's rival and were ruined by the fact that they were debuting with a Bar Bar Bar Re-Skin, a year after Bx3 came out by the way, had no activities between March 2014 and February 2015 where they would have a COMPLETLY UNPROMOTED COMEBACK (!!!), another completly unpromoted comeback in the middle of the year and finally a barely promoted one in November. After that they would go into hiatus again until summer 2017 and rebrand as Be.A after all other artists had left the company, have a completly messed up european tour with one member leaving just weeks before it and another one being unable to attend and being replaced by a guy who actually wanted to join the group but that obviously didn't happen as they are either in hiatus again or disbanded quietly.

I still don't understand how MBLAQ suddenly went down just like that. Their success might've been stalled after Smoky Girl but they were still popular. The sudden concert cancellation was so suspicious and they didn't have any reason to cancel it unless JTC never planned for the concert was to actually took place. Instead they were announcing it just for money, and never actually booked the venue for the actual concert to happen. TwoX disappeared without any trace. MBLAQ thropies is the flea market after Lee Joon and Thunder left was a huge shock to whole fandom. And Madtown sudden company change back then also surprised me. The fact that Rain established the company but he was never there to monitor or manage the company saddens me. He outright neglected everything and left the company for the staffs to handle. I was such a huge fan of MBLAQ and I was so disheartened when I watched this :( Thank u so much for the video! I stanned too many mistreated groups. MBLAQ and ZE:A were my favourites back then

MBLAQ revolutionized kpop to become what we know it today for boy groups. They were one of the first if not the first to use the hair, makeup, and clothes that have are the iconic styles of 2010's kpop, and their choreo was also super iconic. They deserved a happier ending but all in all they really pushed k-pop to become the global sensation as it is today. I remember seeing Y, Cry, and Stay when I first got into kpop and their visuals grabbed me in and kept me with the catchy songs and fun dances. It's sad that so many people now aren't as familiar with MBLAQ for all that they did because the way they ended made it difficult for any kind of legacy :( All their songs were quoted all the time in memes and just during normal (stan) conversations, there wasn't a kpop fan not obsessed with MBLAQ in 2011.

I really hope that all of the idols involved with these shady, selfish companies are able to move on and continue their lives and careers in peace. Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort to make people aware of these issues. P.S. In a future video, could you look into Amuse Korea? Thanks for this video! I'm glad more people are finding out about how dirty my boys were done. MBLAQ had so much more to offer but JTC ruined it all. I wanted to comment since everyone feels bad about them, you guys can support Mir and G.O on their respective KZbin channels if you wish. Mir's one is MirBang - 미르방, he does commentary style vids talking about all types of things from his time as an idol and vlogs sometimes, there's some interesting stuff, and G.O has one where he posts covers Jung G.O and one that's lifestyle videos, mostly with his wife (yes, he's married) and they're super cute! It's called O.Y Couple. Thank you if you do check them out. As an A+ (MBLAQ's fandom name) it was so hard to see them go through all the hardships JTC brought upon them, they deserved so much better. They are doing well and seem happy nowadays though so that's something to be glad about. Again, thanks for this video and bringing some attention back to this as I've always felt not enough people even knew what happened!

I was legitimately sad when I found out that MBLAQ broke up because they were THE first k-pop group I was exposed to. I have been a multi-fan since 2009 thanks to a little movie called 'Ninja Assassin'. I had a huge crush on the male lead of the movie who turned out to be Rain oppa & I did some research on him to see if that was his real name (which was sexy tbh). I went down the rabbit hole & have been stuck every since, Lol. Thinking that Rain oppa was in a group I got into MBLAQ. Turns out that Rain wasn't in the group & the person I was swooning after was G.O oppa. The first song I heard from them was 'Stay' & my first k-pop song EVER was 'Hip Song' by Rain oppa. So MBLAQ & Rain will always have a special place in my heart. Because without their contributions to k-pop we wouldn't have BTS, Got7, EXO, ATeez, Stray Kids & VIXX today. We have to give respect where it's due to the boy groups that came before our faves. Such as Shinhwa, H.O.T, SHINee, 2 PM, 2 AM, U-Kiss, MadTown, Boyfriend, Dalmatian (Or DMTN), DBSK, Big Bang, CN Blue, Legend, History, Cross Gene, Infinite & Beast. I know my history, Lol. I'm sure I forgot a few but these were the golden years of k-pop where the influence in America was making splashes here & there but wasn't as major. I hope all these men are happy & healthy. 👑💖😁 #Nostalgia #OldSchoolKPop

Their songs were great, they didn't change the concept of the group every comeback but still show us something new in their songs. I remember they were pretty straightforward in reality shows so it was really fun to watch I probably watch their every reality show and tv program. Mblaq debuted the same time with Beast. And Mblaq was more populer than Beast at the first. But thanks to the company today no one knows about Mblaq. Our fandom also wasn't toxic. B2uty supported Mblaq, A+ supported Beast. Then rain act like there was no company like that and give up Mblaq. If you mess up something you need to clean your mess. But Rain just run away and never cared about Mblaq.

Both groups had so much potential to be amazing groups and bring the entertainment up like BigHit gotten with BTS. JTune Camp was doing well at the start of it. Compared to other entertainments I have seen, MBLAQ didn’t really have any weird scandals or anything like that, making their rise to fame as a clean one, where their rise to fame wasn’t built up by being scandalous. This shows JTune taking care of things well till the concert in Peru(right?). Both groups showed they COULD become big. It was possible for MBLAQ who literally was starting to etch JTune’s name as a big company. Madtown could’ve put the finishing touches. Though if they were handled right. Both groups made great songs and promoted correctly could’ve given them that win. Madtown was in promoting great songs just like MBLAQ. I still enjoy both their music till this day. Would be nice to hear what they would make now

bro i was an A+ and later followed to become ARMY, i vividly remembered MBLAQ being such good sport to BTS in their debut days, their photo together backstage was somewhat an omen to me for BTS, and it was just so sad watching MBLAQ went away in such bad terms with JTC, like the rumor of Joon and Thunder departure was 1 day before MBLAQ's 5th year anni, after that everything went dark, Mirror is like a bittersweet goodbye to me..

I heard of Mad Town and wanted to stan them after OMGT. It hurts that the hard work they pulled through was worthless. These companies _actually suck._

Even though I've only ever heard of MBLAQ in passing and dont know that much about MADTOWN, this makes me so sad. I saw MADTOWN's Jota on WGM and he was such a sweet heart :(

I've been supporting MBLAQ since debut. And also support both two x and madtown to help the company. But they're fucked up. Hello, u've got MBLAQ, talented group two x, and a fresh newbie madtown by that time. Yet due to management problem, things just shattered. I miss MBLAQ so much. I really hope the trios will at least make a song together and post it on their individual youtube channel or something. I really miss them. And i'm kinda glad because they still hashtag their group name whenever they post pictures on instagram😊

i actually own every mblaq cd and dvd, i was only 12-13 then but i loved them, i barely knew any of this was happening at the time either, i stopped following kpop around 2014 and eventually came back :(

MBLAQ was my first kpop group and I will always be an A+ most of this was very accurate and i thank you for spreading light on what artists under the company had to go through. Sadly this happens a lot. I think one of the worst is SS entertainment (formerly JK entertainment) who owned one of my othe ult groups the legend. From what i understand, the former members of the legend informed fans that the CEO was finally sent to jail for his mistreatment of his employees and idols.

Missing info, but very important. JTUNE was a public company. The reason JYP merged aka acquired JTUNE was to go public via back door listing. JYP did not get approved to go public the official way . So you can do that by acquiring an already public company. JYP had the management rights to JTUNE. JYP went down bad after his american adventures and took JTUNE with them, JYP actually was resposible for MBLAC. I think some trainees were even from his auditions.

i still can’t understand how this company actually work...like...what actually on their mind...most company did that and i don’t know why...mblaq was such a famous and big group...they could make money from them...why they didn’t their best to treat them well and put an effort on them...madtown debut sure aren’t as big as their senior but its not like they totally unknown or even underrated...they do quite well in their debut for a rookie...the company bankcrupt also their own fault and dumbness...not even a fans of both group but still feel bad for them...

Im an iraqi fan of MBLAQ and I really loved MBLAQ when i was 6 y.o. and today i was playing their music with my big brother (he was a kpop fan when he was a kid too and so my two big sisters) and did not know these thing abt them in the video and it broke my heart i really really miss them 💔

It broke my heart when I discovered that mad town disbanded after I saw leeGeon and Daewon on the unite (which I watched up till the final episide). But now that I know why they had to disband my heart aches even more. The members went through shit beyond imaginable. I loved them from their debut and then anticipated their comeback after emptiness, but that never happened. I really do hate it when groups that i get attached to disband before they even get the chance to showcase their talents worldwide. Shout out to The ark, C Clown, Lc9, chocolate, and Madclown. Groups that definitely would've dominated kpop if it weren't for the lack of support they received from the companies, whose hands they put their trust in😔.

Thank you so much for making these videos enlightening people about the incompetence and corruption that occurs in kpop. Hopefully enough people will be informed enough to be more aware of the flabergasting explotation idols face. My dream is that the Korean idol industry can be reformed so that idols are treated with respect and fairness.

MADTOWN and MBLAQ were both favorites of mine. MBLAQ were about done when I started liking them, but MADTOWN were still going on when I started liking them. I knew something was going on when MADTOWN stopped posting on Vlive and heard NOTHING on their instagram. When I heard they both disbanded, it hurt a lot.

I am now very worried about CIIPHER. I really want them to succeed and 6 of the members already went through the heartbreak of being too close to debut but not making it into the cut. I hope they won't break the kids' hearts again : (

Almost all these companies make the same mistakes. They mistreat and overwork their groups. Then they give up on them deciding that they are done while they go looking for the next big thing. And in the process they destroy something that already was a big thing.
