I dont know why someone who is famous for struggling to make a cohesive and complete story in 10-12 episodes thought he could do well with 1 hour
@elphbwckd2128 ай бұрын
I honestly thought that he would do better in short format. It seems that he doesn't lack for ideas, what most seasons of the original AHS struggle with is taking a good premise and stretching it to 10-13 episodes. The only worthwhile episodes are the first two and the last episode. Everything in between is just boring filler. Stories could actually serve him well, and it does for the most part. The biggest problem is the poor quality, direction and acting. It seems slapped together, making even the good stories in there seem bad because they are just poorly executed. I think Ryan Murphy actually benefits from a shorter run time if he had the focus to pull it off. He's just spread too thin to make sure any one single production is the quality it should be.
@alejandraavina66048 ай бұрын
I thiught it could work because during Glee and AHS, Ryan struggled with delivering a good payoff for the premise that he sets up. I think he has a similar problem to Marlene King in PLL, where they set up a bunch of cool stuff but they can't find a way to close the story in a compelling and cohesive way.

Other thing, the Rubber costume wans't possesed, it was bought by Zachary Quinto's character as a way to save his marriage, then later used by Tate as a disguise, and since Michael Langdon doens't exist in this timeline, in theory, there is no greater evil in the house influencing people, then why the girl gets turned from edgy teen to killer while putting the costume, and if this is MH, why is any of the ghosts doing something to scared them of, was not what they did in the end of season one, is because none of the original actors wanted something to do with this show, seriously, Ryan Murphy needs to know a thing called recast.

Even American Horror Story always has massive plot holes and rushed horrible endings, even if the first half of the season is good. And everyday I feel more and more suspicious of Ryan Murphy bc wtf is this shit having a 16 year old girl like male gazed in the rubber suit AND having a scene of her m*sturbating 💀 and then his excuse for it is childhood trauma as serious as kidnapping but that's the ONLY time it's mentioned?! Like how exploitative is that bro 💀💀💀 I loved you comparing scenes also! That comparison of the characters realizing they're dead and stuck in the house REALLY highlights the difference in acting ability and tone. Taissa Farmiga looks DEVASTATED when she realizes she's stuck, the real palpable expression of confusion but also full emotional breakdown really shows you how this kind of revelation would be mind boggling. Meanwhile the two dads are yelling at each other APOLOGIES after just witnessing murder like is this the time?? And then when they realize they just stare and gawk at each other like wtf 💀 like yes Violet being a volatile teenager plays into her specific reaction but seriously what does that scene tell me about the dads absolutely nothing. From the absolutely tired ass storyline with the mean girls and forced lesbians to the absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous?? Idea that even a corrupt contractor would think a bj is equivalent to the pay required to completely renovate a home from the 20s?! Like wtf were the writers fucking smoking bro I can't handle it

If whats-her-face the model wanted Scarlet to stay in the house to be with her..... just kill *her.* Why would you go after her dads hoping she'd just stick around and never move on? She could've just killed *Scarlet* and then she'd be unable to leave, and as a result she'd be even more emotionally distraught and susceptible to Ruby(?) coming in with lovebombing & manipulation! But considering they used "Oh she was kidnapped as a kid" as a reason she's into heavy kink (without including ANY OTHER symptoms of such a PROFOUND trauma), something tells me they don't care to get into their actual psychological states and effects on these characters. There's potential for her to be a flawed fucked up character who starts as an aggressor and becomes a victim of this house ghost. But they didn't do that. They just wanted some shots of a girl in a rubber suit killing other girls because "they're mean bitches." Ugh. Would've been way more compelling if those girls really were trying to be her friend and were maybe bitchy and sassy but well intentioned (not trying to out & shame her ffs), but she mistook their actions as mocking & decided to get revenge in an overblown way that reflects her own mental instability from her trauma being dredged up by ghost girl. Maybe even seeing those girls as a proxy of her kidnapper and feeling like she's justified and getting revenge on said kidnapper, because "They're just like him. They're the same." Based on only a few similar sentences said, or a few similar movements, or maybe the kidnapper was sassy and kinda rude, and these girls imitated that demeanor and it triggered Scarlet, but she's not mature enough to recognize that in the state she's in, especially with ghost girl egging her on. But nooooo. AHSs said nah, we only want puddle-deep aeesthetic bait that reads like it's written by a 13 year old on Wattpad.

The second half of the two-parter hinges on a character who isn’t in the first half, and the show hopes you don’t remember what happened in the episode you just watched. That is a choice.

Sounds like a very nice show to watch with the family

I will say Kaia Gerber is a little better in Bottoms. I won’t say *good* but she fits the tone of that movie way more.

I feel like these type of anthology shows with a new story each episode, especially an AHS spin-off, should take the opprotunity to employ amateur writers. Like they're already almost always a waste of time so they might as well give new writers the ability to flex their muscles in a proffesional setting under a more established name in order to break into the industry. Can't be much worse that /this/.
