Doug wants an epic Mulan movie? Then he should try Hau Mulan (2009; also goes by Mulan: Rise of a Warrior). It is so good, and the reason I wasn't too interested in the remake (despite liking almost all of the other ones). I love the Disney animated film, and would have likely enjoyed if they had stuck pretty close to that, but when I found out they were getting rid of Mushu and the songs, I just thought "but I already have that movie in Hau Mulan". I mean I liked the 2009 film so much I bought the dvd off eBay while only an hour or so into the film, so I had very little interest for the Disney remake.

Fun fact: The Assassin 33 AD storyline leaves a big butterfly effect if it actually happened, since well, Jesus is acknowledged as a prophet in Islam, which would certainly give a massive effect on history.

As a Christain and Catholic myself I know it's weird to enjoy saying this: But it feels like that it would be more the case when it either could be them terminate Mary's pregnancy or do a generic modification

I didn't see a single new movie this year. I honestly had a hard time even trying to remember any films that were released in 2020, looks like I didn't miss much.

If you're going to do a Funkopop type movie with bobble heads, you have to make it completely silly and melodramatic.

On Artemis Fowl... or at least its director... I saw Kenneth Branagh's version of "Murder on the Orient Express". I love the 1976 version of MotOE. It's by far the best Agatha Christie adaptation put to film IMO (sorry 1945 "And then there were none" fans, but it doesn't come close.) I was shocked how unimpressive the Branagh version was to me. Excellent actors were reading their lines like they were actually reading their lines off a screen somewhere, like they hadn't prepared. It had some of the worst performances from otherwise good actors. It also didn't have very good scoring, not very good cinematography (everything just looks too warm and plastic), etc. It was the second whodunnit movie I saw that week, the first being a silly horror comedy called "Happy Death Day". How was the silly horror movie a better whodunnit than the Agatha Christie adaptation? How is that possible? I remember "Conspiracy", which was the Kenneth Branagh movie about the Nazi conference where the "final solution" is agreed. Chillingly brilliant movie, with a mixture of great character actors and big stars like Colin Firth, Ian MacNiece, Stanley Tucci and Barnaby Kay giving amazing performances. I also remember his four-hour adaptation of "Hamlet", which is way better than you'd think it would be. I'm a Branagh fan. But I look at his recent filmography and I think: "What's happened to you?"

On the same topic, what the heck happened to Disney? Anybody remember when the name "Disney" usually meant the movie would be good? Ok, it also usually meant that the villain would be either gay or British (or, in the somewhat baffling case of Scar, both) but still... I used to like their movies!

I think the big thing with the mulan remake was unlike lion king, beauty and the beast, aladdin. There was actually alot of room for improvement

@@chasehedges6775 Safe to say its one of the ones you don't have to worry about....It didn't do well, it wasn't liked...They're only doing live action remakes of the ones that did well and people actually liked....They're not doing Atlantis or Treasure Planet, they weren't good and one was just Treasure Island with space boats.

The baseball bobbleheads were around in the 80s, yep. Superhero ones and the like are more Funkopop crossover ones. That's new from just the past decade.
