I really wish Passengers had been kept as a horror movie, having Chris Pratt turn out to be a psychological thriller type horror villain would have actually been an unexpected twist since he usually plays harmless, likable characters.

Passengers really was a nice scenario not used to it's full potential. If it WAS played as a horror movie, it would be extremely groundbreaking. Imagine it, the hero is stuck with a psychopath that they want to kill, but can't because he's the last person they'll ever know. There's the fear, and complete sense of helplessness, caused by the unique situation. The struggle is against themselves as they weigh their hate vs loneliness.
@Palmieres5 жыл бұрын
I saw it suggested as being told from the perspective of Jennifer Lawson's character and get us to feel the horror she felt when she found out why and when she was woken up. The movie failed spectacularly by trying to make us empathize with Pratt's character, even though what he did was anything but "romantic". Making him a psycho who woke her up, and wanted her to go along with a plan to wake everyone else up as well so they wouldn't be alone, while she tried to stop him, would make the movie great.

Yay yay yay it's here! Nearly two hours! Yay!! 41:42 It's "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, if anyone is curious to know. I know because I not only had to read it last semester, but I had to read literally half a dozen critiques and analyses of it for my Literary Criticism class. It's one of those stories that you can read quickly, and it's readily available online and elsewhere. Of course, as Sarah has demonstrated, there are several different ways of interpreting the story since it doesn't paint the clearest picture of what is happening. My interpretation was that she was crawling around the room or tracing it with her body (not necessarily pressing her face against the wall LOL) because the sister/maid mentions that the paint dust or whatever has gotten all over her clothes. And of course the story itself prompts the question of how it can be interpreted as a feminist work or not. Again, Literary Criticism: You never leave decent stories well enough alone in that line of work.

If Batman v Superman was three separate movies, we'd be fine. One movie about Lex Luther slowly developing a hatred for Superman, replacing Batman's role, and doing other things. They battle, but it doesn't end with them making up over their mothers' names, instead Supes just beats Lex down, deciding not to kill him before retrieving his mother, explaining to her he doesn't want to kill anyone again. Lex still hates Superman, but knows not to mess so rashly next time. Then a Batman movie about the Joker messing with him after killing Robin. This would be the third of a trilogy where we meet Robin, then he dies, and then this third one where Joker is the main villain. As I'd say that we wouldn't have him as huge in the second, just a few scenes, manipulating the plot, and then killing Robin. A different villain takes the spotlight in that so the Joker can be more present in the third. Joker would be replacing Lex, and instead of Supes, the Joker would just be manipulating Batman into traps where he seems to be terrorizing places. He gets more and more reckless through this. The third one would be basically the batman superman movie, but live action. Has anyone else seen that? Well, that's what that would be. This is just a random suggestion that none of you care about and probably many have heard many times. I shouldn't pretend that it's original And no one cares about Lois Lane.

57:03 That's half-true, Brian. Set was the usurper pharoah and Horus was the real pharoah. Therefore, Set wanted tobring shame upon Horus. One night, Set got teenage Horus good and wasted and raped him. But, Horus only faked being drunk and caught Set's...material in his hand. He then went to his mother, Isis (queen of magic) and showed her the seed. She then cut Horus' hand off (she did make him a new one) and smeared the old hand on Set's favorite food: lettuce. When the council of gods was assembled, Set was disgraced.

1:20:50. The pretending to speak a foreign language made me have flashbacks to when I was little and walked up to some people speaking Spanish and started making gibberish noises because I didn't understand the concept of foreign languages at the time.
@crescentfreshbret Жыл бұрын
I had a weird fear of people who spoke different languages when I was a little kid. It wasn’t because I was xenophobic or anything. I just remember one day, my cousin and I were riding our bikes all over his apartment complex, and we kept passing by this group of people standing around in the parking lot having a long conversation in Spanish. I kept trying to avoid them, because I was terrified that they would pause their conversation and say something to me in Spanish, and I wouldn’t be able to respond. I don’t know why this made me so incredibly fearful. I also was afraid of drunk people or people with, like, extreme cerebral palsy- even seeing them on TV… I guess because seeing people not being able to be in control of how they acted was scary to me.

Regarding other accidents with the Ace Chemicals vat, that actually cropped up in a comic once, The Man Who Laughs, which was a retelling of the Joker's first appearance in Gotham. It really pokes holes in the whole mystique to have Batman show up at the Ace Chemicals plant and find a guy who accidentally got a little bit of it spilled on him and now he has the bleached white skin and green hair on that part.
