Even better the diffrent Province name is something the community have been asking for (moders because the old way to do name change is a pain whit this DLC and maybe as part of the game update that will be a lot easier from now on). just add all the posible names for a province to the list that contains its name and for what country the name change is for. like if there is a Province in sweden called Town_sweden. before you needed to fiddle whit scripts to change the name to its historical Danish, Finish, German/prusia, Norway, Sami name. now you just can put it in the list that contains that province name and you can probably have stuff like on recapture name it X instead of the original Y. (like now the Russia/Chinese+warlords+Korea+Japan that eastern part of Russia/china can now have its correct name depending on who owns it vs what its now that is who control it at the start of the game. also as many moders says when ever a game dev releses a DLC that is sort of what a mod does thats usally a good thing because it means that what ever mod jank the moder uses and then all other moders that uses that as there backborn for there mod have to pray that the function moder dont stop uppdating it or a dev patch breaking it completly... pain and unsable. when HOI4 released the Le resistance and the spy agency (there existed a mod that did that before it was jank) the Paradox solution is more stable and moders can always build further whit it... (that is if your not like EA and every patch you relese breaks more of the game and breaks all the mods and then you relese something thats so much worse then what the moders had made). the bear was historical mind you.... and the fact that the unit and all that is sort of a few year before it was official but poland did have a bear that was part of the artilery unit and served it well carrying ammo crates and even dragged wounded to safely plus alot of other stuff. now what I would do to update it as the right now as part of the historical event you get a general called Wojtek (that is the bear). what I would have done now that individual unit can have a captains instead is to make Wojtek a captain instead... yes you can still promote Wojtek the captain to Wojtek the general and then Wojtek the field marshal.

I stopped listening to the video when I first watched it when he brought up the console command thing. I do not understand why people bring it up like its something definitive. "It didnt used to lag the entire game". Like even if we drop the bit where the devs do not expect the players to do it, there is still the fact that the more content a game has, the more it will have to process at the same time if you force the game to process it all at once. But after playing around with the DLC myself I dont understand the "lack of optimization" thing. The mid-late game feels way more optimised than it used to be. Probably helps that I have the Better Optimization mod turned on too.

If he had taken the angle that Germany is too busted? Yeah that makes sense, they were nowhere near this strong, and the game cannot fully grapple with the factional infighting. Mefo bills need to do more damage, Autarky must be harder to reach, and still worse than free trade or limited trade. And the left side is just straight busted and makes you outperform the allies, delaying the war by like a year at most. The whole point of a 1939 war is that the UK and France were becoming to powerful and were going to outmatch Germany quickly, and yet again another problem. France is horrifically weak without player intervention, you speed through Brussels straight into Paris in nearly every game. And if you pick the left economic tree, Stalin becomes a joke. This patch has giga buffed Germany to an extent the Wheraboos are creaming in there pants. And they still won’t grapple with the Holocaust, which I get is really hard for them, but by showing how strong, powerful and fun fascism is without showing the reality of its horrors? That’s disingenuous and also potentially radicalising. Does the game talk about the real use and benefits of Slave labour? The confiscation of Jewish wealth which funded the Mefo bills? The Holocaust and it’s impacts at all? No, Paradox is a coward who’s fine using the fun parts of history but won’t touch anything even remotely bad.

germany is busted if a player plays it like every nation can be busted. I have played a lot of historical games and the a.i germany certainly is not any better than last time. dies to the soviets even faster now since the german economy dies with mefo bills. often germany cant even beat greece and shit. Also paradox has said from the beginning that they wont add le genocide or holocaust mechanics since no matter how they would make them people will be angry. Do you think making mechanics for holocausting people would be a good thing? mostly nazies just want those added so they can larp harder. normal people just want to play in the ww2 setting and command armies and such.

I suppose this a problem with the Ai and not making units correctly, nor knowing how to delegate time and resources efficiently. So they couldn’t nerf Germany because then it would be crushed harder. Which, is probably historically accurate, because Germany only won through the miracle of the France capitulation. To be fair, the Soviets are far to busted as well, and the lack of inclusion of the Holodomor in the Ukraine and Kazakhstan is also on my shit list. On the note of not going to add genocide, why not? They sure as hell do it in Stellaris and Victoria 3, to some extent. The issue is that players shouldn’t be able to simply “play a simple WW2 game”, because the subject matter demands nuance and tragedy, you cannot make it simple and “fun” and anti-political because war is political. That’s like having a fun and carefree Fallout game, or Chenobryl game, or Dark souls game. Sure Nazis would enjoy adding it, but who cares? There already going to use the mods for it anyway. It just seems like Paradox is whitewashing history, while also seeking a realistic portrayal of it, unlike COD or Battlefield. Not showing the horrors of a Nazi or Soviet victory is tone deaf.

Not picking sides here, sejozwak is a cool guy, am not the type of person to argue opinions often either, i feel like a ton of people are just harping on HOI4 not because the game is ACTUALLY bad but because it became a joke at this point… I can definitely see where they’re coming from though, the overpriced DLCs just feel… not worth it, like AT ALL, it would have been fun if it was cheaper, i even seen people who ONLY hated the dlcs because of pricing and nothing else Can’t blame them, but can’t really agree on anything else though

what wrong whit this DLC. I mean Arms Against Tyranny is 20 euro. Man the Guns is 20 euro. Götterdämmerung is 25 Euro. and from what I gathered Götterdämmerung is way bigger then Arms against Tyranny in content, gameplay just models and unit type from what I can tell, focus trees and its gameplay and so on.

I havent seen the game slowing up noticeably myself (when i got the dlc on the release hour with my friend, i even thought the game was faster) but most peoples experience was the game noticeably becoming more slow.
