Whoa, shocked to see that choice for Origins. I do NOT like water levels, but not only is that world an exception, but it's no question my favorite set of water levels in any game. It just pulls it off so well between the visuals, the atmosphere (especially in the dark with the creepy hands reaching out to you), and the movement still being free and quick (but admittedly not as complex and satisfying as on land) so it's more of a change in pace from the other worlds without feeling bogged down and slow and miserable like other games. It brings the fun and livelihood of the ocean (something that's usually not there in video game water levels) and whips the mood around as you vary depths from the surface to the abyss.
@michanowak706012 күн бұрын
I'd say my least favourite levels in Rayman 2 are... Iron Mountains and Pirate Ship. For Iron Mountains every segment is fantastic, but they are so strange join together. Other levels don't have that problem that much. And Pirate Ship was really disapointing to me as a kid. I really wanted to explore the Buccaneer on foot but it was just a slide and rocket with only small really explorable area in the middle. Not to mention this level killed my 1000 lum run because of final few lums being placed around warp hole at the end of the slide and I really didn't want to repeat entire level every time I messed up those few lums.
@GeneralRedNortherner12 күн бұрын
I definitely agree with you on the Buccaneer level of Rayman 2 needing much more content than what it actually had. I wouldn't call it my least favourite level of that game by any means, but it would benefit from being expanded. You're in the heart of the Robo-Pirates' whole operation, so you'd think there'd be tonnes of enemy pirates to fight - but no, there's just one single ninja pirate and seemingly nobody else around (at least in the PC version - I can't speak for the console versions). Ubi should've absolutely added more parts to the Buccaneer where you can explore on foot at your own pace and face off against a much stronger contingent of pirate guards.

I think Legends' main gimmickless levels are pretty fun, albeit usually short. The controls are massively improved from Origins so as long as you have any playground to use your moves in it's a good time. The problem with it is that between Murphy and the constant interruptions of autoscrollers, chase levels and reused daily challenge levels its gameplay loop feels very padded out and redundant. For the regular game I'd probably say one of the 2 duck levels are probably the worst for completely stripping you away of the movement that makes the game fun in favor of a boring Murphy gimmick. Or taking challenges in account, Infiltration Station for being hell. I also think my most hated Origins level is Mecha No Mistake, because getting all the lums is just tedious waiting and takes ages

Rayman Origins: The second Tricky Treasure Chase from Gourmand Land, this is surprisingly more harder than Land of the Livid Dead, but it's also one of the levels in the game where the camera will really be your main killer.. Rayman Legends: The third level of the first World, the lack of any obstacles make this the most empty level from the entired game, and it's also the shortest main level of the game too, such a wasted level, and its a shame, because its not even a Murphy level. - Dishonarable mention for Legends go to the first ducky level in the third world.

Whole place felt like a labirynth (which was, fair enough, called so by the warning sign left by a robo-pirate at the beggining of the level), and it was easy for me to get lost and confused. Now it probably wouldn't be as bad, but it's still annoyingly long, especially if you go for 100% completion. And the Tomb of the Ancients. Screw the spiders, screw the zombie chickens. Rayman 3? The Longest Shortcut. I hated it then, I dislike it still. Never was a fan of time tight challenges. I like the secrets, ambience and Ly easter egg, but it's the only level in the entire game that made me groan out of annoyance. The second I saw that crown collectible, all the memories from playing demo segment of this stage made me go "Oh no, not this thing again!?". At least we get 3 more banger of levels after that.

While, I agree Mr Dank's final boss is a bit anti-climatic, Raymun has WAY worse levels. I know you like Allegro Presto, but its, small, slippy platforms over bottomless pits is what springs to mind when I thing of the game's questionable level design. Also, Eat at Joe's is especially tedious with a blackout basement-esque level and a long platforming section over insta-death waters with fish that knock you off the tiny bouys you need to jump on. Steve McQueen in the Great Escape, I sadly had the crappy PS1 port so I'm missing about 1/3rd of the game. I...Need to agree with the people who dislike rock and fire... Level is WAY too long for its own good and the shooting to move the plums across the lava is tedious at best, infuriatingly unresponsive at worst. Raygunn 3: Havok engine I honestly never like Tower of Leptys. Mostly forgetable combat and vehicle sections I could not care less for. Especially disappointing after how great Hoodlum HQ was. I feel the game should have ended with the final boss there. Side note: If you want to give Rayman another chance, I recommend Rayman Redemption. It cuts out a LOT of what makes the game plain unfair (knockback, some insta-deaths e.t.c) as well as adding new levels, cage RADAR, costumes AND a far more fitting final boss against Mr Dank.

Honestly hard to say on this one! Rayman 1: The hard Rocks, probably Absolutely the worst difficulty spike from Band Land! Many different blind jumps, shit that starts spawning out of nowhere, the works! Rayman 2: Yeah, Top of the World! I HATE THAT CHAIR But for real though, the chair is the most trial and error thing in the game, and the storehouse at the end doesn't really save it for me, as I think it's a pretty boring way to end the level. Rayman 3: Just like you, I think there's no bad level outright, but my least favourite has to be The Longest Shortcut! I feel this level just drags on and on! The music is pretty repetitive, the platforming feels untested at times, and the time limits on the timed gates sometimes feel very strict, which made me fail too many times to count! Combined with the fact you have to redo entire sections if you're just barely too slow is sometimes frustrating. Rayman Origins: Agree with you there, Swimming with stars is my least favourite! The darkness mechanic, especially when you get to the angler fish section is just the worst! Really brings the level down for me. Rayman Legends: This one's a tough cookie, probably the boss of Olympus Maximus! (ironic since that's my favourite world) I really hate how finnicky the amount of insects you have to knock off is! It always feels inconsistent to me! Sometimes the boss dies quickly, sometimes it takes too long, sometimes I have to knock off a few extra pieces bit by bit and die trying, having to redo that section! But yeah, not really much of a hater! I love all these games and picking outright "bad levels" is tough for me!

So difficult for no reason. R2 - Cave of bad dreams - it’s just so long and boring. Too much backtracking. All of these are fairly based to be honest. For 2 i think Fairy Glade... maybe? I think because its the level i feel like i have to get through due to playing it so many times. Its a bit long, quite easy and that flying section at the end of the non PS1 versions is so tedious. For 3 i think its either Bog or Tower. Leptys is an upsettingly underwhelming final world for what is otherwise a fantastic adventure. Feels like a worse version of Hoodlum Headquarters in many ways.

My personal least favourite levels in Rayman 1 are related to Band Land and Picture city because I've always found them very out of place in a world based on nature. I don't know ... In Rayman 2 I really hate the Tomb of the Ancients. It's so dark that in PC version I always had to put the brightness to the maximum. It has boring and slow sections with the barrels, the spiders and the zombies... So frustrating. Rayman 3 has the most enjoyable levels in my opinion but for some reason I don't like the Land of the Livid Dead. Maybe because it's too long and you have to climb that damn tower in which I risked to fall every time and had to repeat it over and over again. In Rayman Origins I enjoyed every level but in Legends I agree with you that the Murphy sections unfortunately ruin everything, even if I like the idea that he helps Rayman but... no, just no. I like these two games for their speed and those levels kill the mood in my opinion. A part from that I enjoyed it.

I get your opinion but for me, the platforming part is the best thing about rayman 2 ; stripping that and making a good chunk of the level an on-rails trial and error session is not my cup of tea, at all. - rayman 3 : like you, there are nothing about this game that I actively hate. Every level, every hour of this game has a fantastic ambience, a fantastic humor, perfect game mechanics… Maybe the longest shortcut ? It’s the one where the ambience/theming was the weakest, and it mostly felt like a platforming challenge, rather than a well rounded level - rayman legends : orchestral chaos 8-bit. Easily. It’s an unfair challenge, adds nothing fun to the original level, and due to the video effects it was the only level in the whole game that made me feel physically ill after playing it 4 or 5 times.

Rayman 1 : Dining at Joe ... that level was a real knightmare for me, I was stuck at that level to a point I had to get 50 lives to end it with only 8. and worst part is the darkness was not a problem, I nailed that part! But the section the cables got was much more troublesome. rayman 2 : the great bay. I love Rayman 2 and I don't think underwater levels are not as bad as people say. It's just some games tend to make yor movement slow in water which make the gameplay really boring. And sadly, Rayman 2 is one of those. So, yeah, the underwater level is a fail. rayman 3 : the longest shortcut ... I'm really sory, but that level is just a filler. Also, I usually don't like when you have a timer for some challenges, so a world centered on that was so frustrating. you can also add the lack of action and most of all, the fact that you may spend 3 hours running in circle, looking for that one last crown you might have missed anywhere, just to find out it was the one next to that FREAKING DOOR! YES, I lived that! (the mirror section was cool though) rayman origin, It would be the reaveal. That one was quite a disapointment starting with a boss rush. Ok cool but only 2 bosses on the 4 ... that's lame. THEN, comes that stupid, useless and way too long dance where all you can do is wonder what you are looking at. THEN, comes that die and retry section where you run after MR dark, but it's clearly harder than most chest levels which were suposed to be the hardest levels. THEN, come that section with the moskito which was ok cool but way too similar to the flight you had to enter the factory. THEN, like for raman 1, don't expect a fight against MR Dark, you fight the ship ... or actually no, you don't even have to fight it, it crashes in the main central of the factory by it's own. AND THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN OFFICIAL FINAL BOSS. great deception for my part ... rayman legends ...
