Great job with the bike! I have the exact same colour, how did you get your fuel filler cap looking so good? Mine has a few marks on it and I want it like yours!

I don't know what it looks like now, bike was sold many years back. Removed from tank (undo the securing bolts) being careful not to drop in tank ! I rubbed off the worst with wire wool (fine) cleaned off with panel wipe. Then once clean, sprayed with 3 or 4 thin coats of silver paint. That was it. Just be very careful to go with 3 /4 coats thin and build up to the perfect finish alow 15 mins between coats. I usually find something else to do or read a motorcycle mag, that way you don't get impatient and spoil things. (Been there!) Exact same technique applies to lower fork legs on ALL older Hondas. You can finish with clear lacquer too, but I would wait a week, then rub down with 600 grit just to give a key for the lacquer. Good luck.

Loved this series of episodes. Guessing you did a lot more than what was mentioned in the videos. Can you say how much you payed, spent and sold it for. If you think it was worth your time? Would have loved to see you ride it at end.

I bought it blind (via Ebay)for £1600. Mostly it was clean, spray, but finding the non starting issue was the costly part, trying various sensors etc. In the end just swapped out the throttle bodies for what turned out to be US model ones, but started 1st time after that and went like stink! I had to pay £100 for wheels to be powered and cans of paint etc. Luckily all panels were good so no paint to tank etc. I really do not know how much spent, but figure around £500 tops, and most was servicing what was a bike not looked after. Got very lucky with the fork recall, that saved me a lot and got new forks out of it. Sold it for £2800 as much as I recall. Learnt a lot, which I have carried into my newest project, just as much time ( often thinking this is CBR 954 all over again) my latest YZF750R. You will enjoy those too if you liked this one. Nearly finished it. I will get them all down, edited etc soon.....ish. Thanks for your comments and subscription. Stay tuned. Oh and yes wish I had hooked up on board/ road view cams, but do it all on my own without troubling others to help. Dean

Nice low budget job, should of ordered a Chinese race replica fairing, oh well it was a project and you sold it. Just a question, I've owed a lot of bikes from my first new bike 1975 H1 500 to ZX14 turbocharged, yes I have 954 I like it so much that it's part of my collection. Why would you not keep it?

yes my thoughts exactly why would you sell off such a great bike??

Too much pressure on wrist when riding, actually made my hands numb.
