You shouldn’t be Neutral, 7 years and the audacity to charge $60 for dlc and a bunch of reskinned “new” characters with the same ultimates as their Shippuden counterparts has to be the most LAZIEST dev work ever CC2 is taking advantage of your nostalgia it made sense for Revolution and Generations because they were in betweens that only needed a year or two but 7 whole years is main line entry length of development time. Never feel sorry for your rating it reflects on your feelings about how the developer treats your money (and the audacity to charge 25$ on top that 60$ for characters FROM shippuden is another slap in the face). CC2 needs to feel it in their wallet before things change otherwise the next game we get is a micro transaction hell of a Naruto Battle Royal 🤦‍♂️

I can slightly understand not adding much new content but the amount of things they degraded from previous games is just completely unacceptable, how could they mess up this bad? They would be better off not adding history mode at all because that's just an insult to the previous games

Thank you for mentioning the problem with the dubbing in Brazilian Portuguese, in addition to that horrible dubbing by Kushina, They even merged the voices of several characters that were already dubbed in Storm 4 with other voice actors, thus leaving a horrible mess.

They could have just released an updated version of Storm 4 with new characters and the Storm community would have been happy but the fact that they took so many beloved features away like the tilt moves, The story mode is a complete waste of time. Online mode is trash 🗑. Why did they think making us have pre-made teams would be a good idea? I'm a huge fan of the Strom series, I pre-ordered the game and I was soo hyped to finally play Storm again but I was devastated when I realized how bad this game is :( Complete waste of money

Agreed this was a watered down version of 4 with like 1 new chapter and thats it should have been dlc for 4 not an entirely new game its worth maybe $10-$20 because of that added story basically the standard price for an added dlc story but not no $60 flipping bucks and then to top it off so much content removed from the past games it was insulting they removed so much but added so little then had the audacity to charge a full game price for this its not even a full game its a new chapter and thats all should have been dlc would have been much better received had they did that instead but they wanted that money so bad logic was just not there concern this was clearly meant for profit and nothing else

Man, what a trainwreck! I remember the missing awakening sharingan being a bug back when Storm 4 originally released (PTS Sasuke and Kaguya had the same problem). Then they fixed it with the release of Momoshiki and Kinshiki and now the issue is back?? What are you doing CC2?! Also, why are destroyable buildings gone now? This was literally marketed as a 'next gen' feature during the PS4/X1 days!

If you wanna see tragedy. Look up Fuga Melodies of steal or .hack:// g.u. last recode. Those games only exists because, fans of Solatorobo, Tail concerto, Little tail story, and .hack supported cc2 by purchasing merch to help fund there inhouse games not funded by Bandai-Namco. If you played or watched those games, or watched/ read interviews of Cyber Connect 2. Bandai-Namco is very tight with money CC2 is allowed to use. With some games like Fuga Melodies of steel that was a love letter to solatorobo fans. Adding features that will make you wanna put your controller down to reflect after the tutorial. CC2 inhouse games sadly under sell. Even, with the ammount of detail and polish in there games. Sure, there in house games have anthro characters. Since, cc2 has always been a company designing furry based games in house. Which isn't a suprise if you look up the CC2 international store. It's a shame modern players won't get to play solatorobo which it's in dire need of a remake . Since, it's stuck on the Nintendo ds. If you can emulate the game I would strongly urge you to do so. I think if you compaire that game to what Naruto fans get. I think you'll see why Bandai-Namco sucks not letting CC2 do there own thing.

8:10 Thank you for address this. I thought I was the only one noticed some of the lines just didn't flow right and the obvious mistranslation that just contexturely wrong. I only pay attention to the story mode, but I noticed: 1) When Mitsuki said "Hold on" before fighting Nanashi, I'm pretty sure the Japanese line he said supposed to mean around the line of "She's coming" to signify she's about the attack and the battle begins. That English line made no sense because what's there to hold on when she's about to attack? 2) Sasuke said "You're one to talk" and the next line begin with that same sentence back to back. It's just sound awkward. 3) Nanashi repeats "The Ninja World..." 2 times in one line when she tries to save Boruto. That's all I found, though there're maybe more mistranslated and weird sentences.

a very good review u talked about everything needed fairly. i hated seeing some ppl saying speical story was bad when they just skip cutscenes and never wanted to give it a chance it deserves. it isn't perfect but FAR from bad. Story almost got me crying i really hope nanashi is playable eventually too.

Great job on this video, you really pointed out a lot of the problems that should never have been a part of this game. I used to be a big Storm fan, having played the whole franchise, but CC2 really got lazier and messier over the years. And this is the pinnacle of that. This game might as well have come out well over 10 years ago, there's hardly anything next-gen about it and the amount of things they removed is baffling

0:21 what pissed me off is that nothing in that intro was in the game, like none of those scenes at all, when i saw it i was excited af cuz every intro of every storm games shows only content that is in the game but this one really pissed me off cuz nothing at all in that intro was in the game, i was like damn are they revamping madara vs hashirama boss fight? are they giving us a indra vs ashura boss fight , but noo all we had was what i feared dumb slideshows with stupid fights that can be recreated in vs battles 😥😥

I love Storm games so much but even i admit this felt a bit rush. Like the History Mode doesn't retain everything from previous boss. I know its been years since i play Storm 2 but Naruto vs Sasuke was my go to to play the game and still remember the button input to this day and seeing the changes in QTE and dialogue was annoying. The true saving grace of this game was Nanashi and Boruto's story which I love so so much wishing it was a movie for Boruto during the Kara arc like previous films or anime canon arc. Hey both would've been a massive hit like Road to Ninja movie or Time-Travel arc. If we get Boruto Storm game or Boruto Strom Vortex, they better listen to fandom and incorporate ideas from us from character (Deepa), bosses, (Kawaki vs Garou, Naruto&Sasuke vs Jigen, Borushiki vs Boro) and added tons of content from certain anime canon to most manga canon

This is a very comphensive review, at least from what I watched so far in KZbin. Man, I didn't realize they cut so many contents, it's frustating that not only they didn't make much new contents (except Special Story Mode, I adore it), they also made it fcking expensive. Although I don't play with English dub (and my god it sounds so bad!), the translation itself is super weird. I used to listen to the characters' Japanese voices and somehow the words do not match with it, it's seriously annoying (like the Obito or Haku you mentioned in the video) And the amount of bugs and missing details compared to the previous titles... What the hell happened, CC2?

Thanks for the point out in history mode.i mean in history mode they removed some content like quick time event, some char battle in history mode like guy vs Madara & they didn't even add hd cutscenes instead they used anime screenshot cutscenes like you said in the video & I can totally agree with you.and special story in Boruto cutscenes are great.i really enjoyed watching the cutscenes movie.hoping that bandai namco & cyber connect fixes issues in Naruto history mode & some battle combat system.

It feels like the more anime games become the norm, the more they seem to be geared towards rank or competitive players, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but does no one not care for character customization? And no, I’m not talking about making the characters look cute with the accessories, but for all different Variants of the Same character to share Ninjutsu, Ultimates, any Team Ultimates, and Outfits. I don’t understand why Jutsu are once again tied to a specific variant instead of them being customizable within all Variants of the same character for more variety, that also includes old tilts that are now ninjutsu. Since most of ‘The Last’ and ‘Boruto’ versions are reskins of their Shippuden forms, they should be able to use any jutsu from both their Shippuden and Part 1 counterparts. Next any Ultimates, ninjutsu, and Versions of characters from Storm 1 that didn’t return, to also have been added in Connections. Lastly, instead of removing Chakra Shuriken, they could’ve done like the OG 2D Narutimate Ninja games were the 2 Ninjutsu were based off Up or Down directions.

Storm 4 already has perfect gameplay. No one asked for them to remove tilts, nerf counters, combos off the ground, chakra bar regeneration, etc. NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS!!! The only thing they should have focused on was: 1) Bring back the 4th combos & original combos from S1, 2, Generations 2) Add in Kurenai, Anko, and Zetsu + some Boruto characters 3) Punish people who disconnect online 4) Maybe find a way to introduce wall fighting for 4-5 stages 5) Support the game long term with DLC like Shinobi Striker That’s ALLLLL they had to do and they screwed it up because they don’t listen to fans. cc2 don’t care about the fanbase & continually disrespect the fanbase.

History Mode was missing a ton of fights. Special Story was good, it was really emotional and I enjoyed it. I too damn near cried a few times. The Character & Stage Selection Theme I fell in love with. Toneri should be playable. Assist Characters from past Storm Games should be playable. More costumes for characters who were featured in THE LAST & Boruto should be added. Brand new Ultimate Jutsu should be created for different versions of the same character, mainly the Boruto Era characters. New Team Jutsu should be added for various characters like: - Naruto (Part 1) & Jiraiya - Sakura & Tsunade - Sasuke & Orochimaru - Itachi & Kisame - Kiba (Part 1) & Kankuro (Part 1) - Shikamaru (Part 1) & Temari (Part 1) - Rock Lee (Part 1) & Gaara (Part 1) - Orochimaru & Kabuto - Kakashi & Yamato The Ryo earnings are absolute TRASH! The Collection Shop is TOO damn expensive and grinding for pennies in order to unlock everything is not worth it. I like the game, but there is so much to be improved upon and hopefully it will.

Also, the fact that they locked weekly challenges with decent Ryo amounts behind online playtime irritates me too (someone wrote on GameFAQs: "I don't have time to be fighting with sweaty tryhards online" and that stuck with me lol) I feel like a lot of the content we got in this game could've been ROAD TO BORUTO DLC for Storm 4.

My only gripe is that I can't play online because my version is automatically set in Japan, to make it worse I can't find online enemies. The saving grace for me is the new story with them playing a game. But after that, I'll play this for some short battles and/trying to use all the characters then move on.

Yeah.... I'm playing the game now (a walkthrough is coming out on my channel), at the beginning there were cool things that pleased and surprised me, but the more I play, the more disappointed I become. They could have simply glued the whole plot together with all the boss battles, but no, they cut them off, depriving me of great boss battles. There are very few costumes, I really want costumes like Naruto and Sasuke for other characters, they have Naruto the pirate, but no Kisame the pirate, what nonsense? Also, the character development is boring, they could have made a mode where for each character there would be a couple of levels telling their plot, again the same Kisame: a battle with Itachi, Asuma, Guy, Suigetsu and Guy again, that's all. There is little customization, too little, everything looks either ridiculous or disgusting. There is still no ultimate combo between Kisame and Itachi, as an example. Everything they added to the game they could have added like big DLC for storm 4. The only thing I really like is the two ninjutsu and Boruto's story. I also like the new characters, but there are so few of them that you stop enjoying them very quickly. Where are the other Boruto kids? Where are Shizune, Anko, Kurenai, season 1 sound team. There isn't even an adult Konohamaru. If they only release two DLCs with 6-12 fighters, it will be the most disappointing part of Storm for me, as a very big fan of this series of games. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

They should have closed the series with Storm 5 or already started with a reboot for the 20th anniversary... for years everyone has been asking for Storm 5 and no one has asked for Storm Connections, then the funny thing is that Connections seems like the exact same thing that they did with Generations or Revolutions... with a cliffhanger-type scene of Boruto looking at his hand with Karma 🤷‍♂️ then they say it will be the last chapter... ATP i have only one question - why the heck we need to play through Naruto's content twice? And why in such horrible quality? We have separate History Mode where we experience all major Naruto's story battless, which is really poorly composed and cut , especially with S1 battles. We could finally get some Zabuza vs Kakashi boss battle (with implementation of that little QTE from S3) but they ruined it. Removing awakened Naruto vs Sasuke battle really surprised me. Especially after i went through Boruto's Episode. Storm Connections worst part to me is - u get through all Naruto most important battles in Boruto's episode, AGAIN! What's the point of making you play these battles twice?! Not to mention - in Boruto's episode, first battle between Naruto and Sasuke at the Valley of The End IS PLAYED WHEN THEY'RE AWAKENED! WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED HERE?! I know it was mostly to tweak up gameplay but good lord - just packing all Storm games story in one game ISN'T THAT HARD. There doesn't have to be any world to explore - just Ingame cutscenes, not screenshots from the censored anime. CC2 cutscenes are really amazing, some of them are better then manga"s or anime's ( S4 Naruto vs Sasuke battle as my favorite example) but they cut them out. Why? WHY?! I swear - worst story mode in Storm history

Saying we lost tilts and chakra shuriken is a loss is a loss is kinda dumb,because 1 most character had shit tilts Most melee based tilts were bad period,they used some tilts as second justu but they buffed damn near all of them rock lees tilt was mostly useless does shit damage can barely used it to escape pressure and can't even be used as a support but now they made it into a second justu they buffed the damage it's cancelable it leads to a combo can be used as an assist so yeah I'd give up chakra shurikens and useless tilts anyday,also you mentioned how storm 1 you could select the jutsu for your assist but in storm 1 both assists have only 1 jutsu now you have have 6 jutsus at your disposal thanks to all characters having 2 jutsu

At this point, I think they made this game absolute horse crap so that gamers and reviewers can directly advertise the storm legacy. I mean, the storm games has been done for like 7 years, so in order to spring back up the other dead storm games, they have to bring in the big guns by introducing a super badly made and 'similar-ish' new game in this time of year to create relevancy. After all, the more Storm connections gets hate > the more ppl gets the wind of the issue > then more reviewers will recommend ppl to buy the Storm Legacy, thus reviving a dead 5 year old game back in store shelves.

So the original Story Mode (Special Story) is quite good, but does have issues to it? Sucks that Nanashi is not playable, only a NPC. Merz is not compelling as a villain, and the only two boss battles have no QTEs to spice it up. For Spoilers, So Nanashi dies from using her technique to help Boruto kill Merz, dying in the blond boy's arms? With help from Toneri, Boruto was able to go back in time to the Warring States Period (which was a hundred years ago from present) to save Nanashi from her clan and give her back her real name. After that, Boruto goes back to the present, and Nanashi proceeds to have a modest life where she surrounded herself with people who care for her and live away from war where her clan could never hope to find her. She left an anecdote to Boruto after he came back to the present to thank him for his help. At that point, Nanashi is already dead, having died from natural causes (old age), but surrounded by her loved ones?

My main problem with the game is that they don’t care about the returning characters anymore some of them haven’t been touched since storm 2 I was even hoping they would add more boruto generation characters like shikadai or metal lee even characters like suzune or anko are unplayable characters despite being here since the start of the storm series I really thought they would have added Boss fights we didn’t have in the previous games like Rock lee vs garra or Sasuke vs Danzo the game really didn’t live up to my expectations I really expected something new and exciting instead we got this horribly copied and pasted thrash it feels more like a rushed DLC than an actual new game it’s really disappointing that this is the way they choose to end the storm series 🤦

Storm series just ended now for me, even Bandai Namco and CC2. What did they do to my childhood game is a joke. It's a new title, but it has much less content than the previous ones, even pointlessly cut out, wtf. A story mode would be cool and I would even approve of these slideshows if they added boss fights that weren't there before, such as: PTS Naruto vs Neji, Rescue Sasuke team vs Sound 4, Sasuke vs Killer Bee, Sasuke vs Deidera, Asuma vs Hidan , Kakashi vs Obito and more. But no, they just cut content from previous games. I sold my copy because I couldn't even play online on my Xbox. Fuck Bandai, they're out of my league. There is too many bad things to say about this crap game

It still has its FUN factor but there are some things in Storm Connections that is completely HORRIBLE! And its like they completely disregarded the core fan base that's held the Storm games down for all these years to cater to some NEW players to make it easy for them. Why should I have to re-learn how to play a game I've been playing for 13 years all because you're doing stupid shit with your game to cater to other people??? Some of the basic maneuverability's I can't even do any more, the combat system isn't even COMPETITIVE anymore....its really sad what they produced and have the audacity to charge $70 or however much the Ultimate Edition cost. I agree with your opinion in most of the subjects, for me Naruto Storm Connections it doesn’t feels like a new Storm game at all, they changed only a few buttons commands and nothing more, the fact that they removed Tilts and they put the tilts moves on the second jutsus it's pretty lame, disappointing and lackluster, this game feels more like an update DLC than like an actual New Storm Game. But honestly, for me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. The First Storm game has the most Unique gameplay features perspective and the particular presentation of the game was so ahead of it's time in my opinion, the only downside of the first Storm game was the very lacking Story Mode Interactions, and from Storm 3 the developers cut and shortned the movesets of characters, that's why I don't agree with their choices. (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. (these have my favourite vibe and charm of the anime itself because of the dynamic gameplay features) 2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2( for the unique Story and some Unique Boss Battles and let's not forget that Iconic "Calm Before the Storm" OST from the Characters Selection Screen and many more diverse soundtracks) 3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Because of the more well-rounded diverse Story Perspective and very epic Boss Battles and also the soundtrack "Outside Konoha" and others soundtracks as well) 4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (mostly because of the unique option to change/switch between your characters team during the fight, this particular option mechanics should've been already in the game from the very first Storm game in my opinion) 5. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (because of the abused and annoying Counter mechanic) 🤷🏻‍♂️

It still pisses me off that in Storm Connections they have the correct OST for the Pain vs Naruto (Phase 3) Fight but not in the Storm Trilogy collection. Same goes for the Phase 3 of Jariya vs Pain Fight OST in Trilogy. It could honestly be an easy update for CC2 & Bandai to do for Storm Trilogy. But I forgot... It's Bandai...🙄 And funny enough, I consider the Storm Trilogy collection superior overall compared to the last gen versions of Storm 1, 2 , & 3.

I knew This storm game would be a cash grab when they revealed it would be focused on Naruto vs Saskue, instead of Boruto story. Also the english dub for Naruto has always been terrible in my opinion. So i didn't notice much difference in this game than before. I stick with original japanese audio.
