Hated that trade, as a French Canadian, I feel like Moslon thinks having “quebecois” players is all we think about. Puck moving defensemen like Sergachev don’t come by often. I don’t hate Drouin. He is a great playmaker but Markov’s role was never replaced when he left Montreal and that hurt a lot. I’m pretty sure that was not Bergevin’s trade but that was Molson’s to find a “quebecois de service” to please French Canadians. It’s all speculation but that’s my take. And Molson has a reputation of getting too involved even though he denies it.

There are reasons why this guys bounced around a bunch. And it's not because he's an amazing player. @niccolom2 жыл бұрын
@@idontgivetkachuk 1. Locker room issues can be a factor for signings or tradings. Look at the Evander Kane "locker room cancer" issue right now. Ignoring this, I could see you saying something along the lines of "Kane is a legit 30-goal scorer, but yet 31 other teams passed on him, making him the biggest GM blunder of the 2021-22 season" when in fact he's worthless. 2. What caused my comment was the fact that your speech came off as professional reporting. You sounded like you know what you're talking about, and you sounded trustworthy. But I know that you're omitting a lot of important information, thus becoming misleading journalism. That's why I had to point that out to other people. If you sounded like Gilbert Godfried, I wouldn't have said anything. 3. Fact of the matter is, contract status, impending free agency, and salary cap are some of the most important factors that determine the trade value of a given player. For example, the fact that both Jeff Carter and Jacob Voracek with RFAs when the trade happened was an important factor, as their new salary cap hits were undetermined at that time. Voracek ended up signing for just one year, meaning that, at that time, the Flyers had no idea that they wouldn't lose him after that season.
