I like what Charlie finished the video with in importance of liability because in that same description; the scumbag landlords TRIED they TRIED to flip the script and make the resident pay for all this insane fuckin damage. Imagine crying about 150$-300$ max for this repair job based on the “30min” thing; and instead going for thousands of dollars worth of damage, not to mention what came of the people below them. And then get the bright idea of, oh well we’ll make the resident pay for it. We may have destroyed all their belongings but... These people are such cheap jackasses they shouldn’t own an apartment space.

I wish that was the case but sadly turns out the landlord did tell him the situation and he agreed to fix it without the water being shut off to save her money (probably hoping she would use him in future then). Turns out aswell it was a small leak before he started work on it 😬 However I will say this guy (lacking plumber skills as he may be) is not the villain. Like any good anime he's the one you think is the bad guy however it's later revealed he's working for the real villain the evil landlord. But thanks to the guy recording this they proved the landlord was lying when she made the bitch move of trying to blame the tenants and she had to pay a LOT of money for all the damage to this and another apartment lol. The family have apparently moved somewhere with a decent landlord now so a happy ending. Though we don't know what happened to the plumber. Maybe he will get his own spin off or season where he goes off to train under a master plumber 🤔

Wouldn't be surprised if it was part of "the plan". Landlords can charge you for "damages or unreasonable wear" caused during your stay. If they flood the carpets and ruin the drywall, they can nail the ex-tennants with the cost and not have to soak up the reno costs themselves. Common scum-lord tactic. Send in a scab to mess things up, blame it on tenant miss use. If the tenant doesn't have video/photo, or any solid evidence, the courts often side with property owners under the assumption of being an upstanding citizen.

You need a water key and in an apartment like this the whole building is likely on one meter so you'd also have to find it in the heat of the moment and hope it's the right one. Not to mention the fact that your landlord would find a way to charge you if you cut the whole buildings water off, even if it was warranted @@sailor5853 Edit: after re-reading you probably meant BEFORE doing plumbing work, my bad. If he was a competent plumber, which he wasn't, he would have *REFUSED* to do any type of work till the water was shut off. The landlord should have informed the tenants at a later date the water was not going to be available for a set amount of time to allow the plumber to safely do his job. Especially if you're working in an apartment building. If the water gets everywhere on the fool, it could not only ruin the floor, but the ceiling of the apartment below it...
