Well, you should understand this. Even for "Made in Italy" glasses, all the parts are coming from China. They are just "Assembled in Italy" as the matter of fact. Nowadays it doesn't matter where they are made, since all the factories are basically using the same machinery and technique. My Aviator Optics are made in China, and they are fine. I love them. By the way, I spoke with a Ray Ban agent, and she said both RB2140 Wayfarer and RB3025 Aviator were now made with polycarbonate lenses(!). No glass lenses for those flagship models anymore.... Sad.

Regarding the different construction and differeent position of the nosepads on the Chinese one, is it possible the Chinese ones are an "Asian fit" model where the nosepads are angled differently because of a slightly less pronounced nose bridge in Asians?

Luxottica owns Rayban, Oakley and many others, that's when quality fell. Elon Musk is right, if companies can't make a great product anymore they should go out of business. The bigger they get it seems profit takes priority over quality. More is never enough. It's sick!

It seems that all Ray-Ban prescription frames are made in China too. I didn't learn that until I went to a brick and mortar optician. I soon as I picked them up, I could tell they were very cheaply made and that's when I saw they were made in China. I ended up buying made in Italy RB sunglasses for my prescription. Just a a word of caution for those thinking of buying RB frames online.

Amazon sell genuine made in Italy 🇮🇹 Ray-Ban but they cost over $200 but you have to pay if you want the Best 👌 if you buy cheap then they will be cheap Chinese crap, so it's up to the buyer!

I bought a pair of RB3025 Aviator mirror but the light reflections inside the glasses bothers me a lot and the inside reflects much more than my wayfarers....Is this normal?

Well I have the same problem. In my opinion it’s twofold. First, these are base curve 6 frames which IMHO let in too much light from the sides period. Second, I’m not totally sure if they use an anti reflective coating on the inside of the lens, but if they do it’s a rather ineffective coating compared to other sunglass brands. Comparing these to Watfarers, the aviators have much narrower temples so the side Wayfarer temples block some light from getting inside the lens. Both are fashion oriented and not good choices for serious sun where you really need a wrap base curve 8 frame. By the way, there are some aviators with wrap frames but you have to really look for them because they are in the minority of frames made. They are much better for blocking sun and still have the classic aviator shape Cheers

I have a pair of outdoorsman's in the same situation, I think the reflections come from the metal on the nose pads, the Wayfarer is a plastic frame so it won't have this problem.

I have the Top Gun G15 style aviators. Mine are made in Italy, came with the gold sticker. I know that everybody raves how the old ones were better etc. but I also have another pair of sunglasses that imitated the aviator, kind of homage. They were also polarized and had UV protection, and although they were quality made, my 2 pairs of Ray - Bans: the Aviator and Justin cost 50% more and the build quality is night and day compared to my other pair. I am not sure how they were in the 60/70s and I am not that crazy to hunt for a vintage pair - I am not a fan of used things that are worn on someone else's skin. I live in Europe and getting Made in Italy Ray - Bans is really easy. I like the brand I think they made really good sun glasses for the price - quality wise. For example Tommy Hilfiger are also in the same family, yet the Ray - Bans are cheaper than them and looks wise way better. Bought mine from an official Ray - Ban seller for 50% bellow retail as most Ray - Bans do. I have heard plenty of people praising their pairs and how they stood the test of time and still going strong. I know that 99 they were sold and prices "are not what they used to be". But then again, my eyes appreciate the clean and not gouging image my Ray - Bans produce when I wear them.

I bought my classic Ray Bans in silver with silver mirror lenses 10 years ago, and they still look brand new. I just need to replace the temple tips, and nose pads. However, I do baby my eyeglasses.
