No hyperbole! This genuinely made me upset. I was a big fan of the original Star Wars Battlefront games on PlayStation 2. How the mighty have fallen.

Countless hours I've played of the first two games on PC. I was really hoping that it would be great and popular, and people who enjoyed it back in the day as well as the new generation of younger players would have a great time online. Damn it.

It's incredibly unfortunate how much Aspyr fumbled the ball here. Hopefully the backlash forces their hand into fixing it. Fingers crossed

@@flyingvct7214 Neversoft was closed years ago, but Vicarious Visions did an amazing job with the Tony Hawk remasters. Insomniac couldn't work on the Spyro remakes, but Toys for Bob carried the torch perfectly fine. Digital Eclipse has been making incredible Atari conversions and ports for multiple generations now, while their original creators are either long-retired, or have passed away. Point I'm trying to make is that there's plenty of ways of honoring the source material without butchering it. It's been done flawlessly before, but Aspyr didn't care

Forgot to mention that- not only are the texture files uncompressed, a lot of them aren't even properly upscaled. They used Photoshop's Nearest Neighbor setting to smooth them out. So you're spending 50+ gigs of hard drive space for textures that look almost identical to the ones from 2005. Cool!

I bought this just for the single player, played it for 6 hours and have yet to encounter a single issue. If you want to claim the multiplayer is unplayable then fair enough, but claiming the entire game is unplayable is the most hyperbolic thing I've ever heard...

That's great! I'm glad you're enjoying the single player. For me, I've owned physical and digital versions of these games on several consoles, across several generations, so I've had my fill of the single player. Both the Nintendo Direct and PS trailers specified "Massive 64 player online multi-player" as a main selling point, so that's why I decided to buy this version. Couple that alongside the accessibility settings for x/y rotation not working in my playthrough, I could not comfortably play this game at all. Hence why I called it "virtually" unplayable. For me, without the ability to adjust the sensitivity or play online (which was HEAVILY advertised) it is unplayable. Again, for me. That's why "...I've ever played" is in the title of the video.

Perhaps they shouldn't have had "64 player online multiplayer" as a selling point in numerous advertisements if they didn't want people to play online

"*Virtually*" unplayable. The multiplayer is completely unplayable to me because of the rubber banding post-death screens, the game's single player was probably fine, but that's not the reason I bought the game, so I did not play it.
