Apparently there was a "fan mail" section of the show where King Koopa would read real letters sent in by viewers. Most of them were about how terrible the show is and the crew played it off as the hate making them want to do it more.

@@senritsujumpsuit6021 nintendo is only like that because they learned the hard way that you cant let others just use your ip without supervision. they're scared of tanking their image and only recently are starting to break the mold a little with the new movie. and even then, it took em like a whole decade of development and planning, with at least one other company having it at first (sony pictures in a 2010 ish leak) them being upset about fangames is retarded though.
