In this snowboard video we're snowboarding in Niseko, Japan in possibly the worst winter season in decades. When we first arrived in Japan the weather forecast was only calling for traces of snow. Luckily on our first day of snowboarding we woke up to over forty centimeters of fresh powder. The snow has continued to fall since we've arrived which peaked on this day when we got over another 40 centimeters for the most epic day of powder snowboarding yet. We also met up with our friend and fellow youtube snowboarder Casey Willax who's out here for the next month to make snowboard video. So far this has been our best snowboard trip to Japan and we're feeling super thankful for the snow. Thank you for watching and I hope you're getting some great snow where you are!

Chaska Cox-Potter just had a cold snap in the northwest now it’s looking like 40 and rain down lower for the next couple weeks .. hopefully the temps stay cool up higher.. it was good while it lasted .. fernie BC got 12+ feet in a few weeks .. the place I usually go to got 7+

This is filmed the day after a 35cm snowstorm at the base, the first two 20cm+ day for the season at the base only arrived on Jan 17th and Jan 21st, while a normal season should see about 8 days like that in a month from mid-Dec to early March... This is indeed the worst year in decades

It's good in Hokkaido, but in Niigata, Nagano, and Yamagata where all the other resorts are, it's super dry. No snow at all :(

You went at the right time. I was there last week. It was fun, but the snow was incomparable too my last trip. The base wasn't deep enough, bamboo and trees sticking up everywhere in spots that were completely covered last time. Still had fun though. I was there a week before you guys on both my niseko trips. I lived in Niseko, the best time to go is February! Jan gets hit the most with snow storms, then it clears up into Feb, plus Feb is usually the coldest month here in Japan. Definitely don't go in December!

If you search "snow japan niseko" and look at the snow depth data, this is the worst year out of all the years of data the website has. Same with many other japan resorts. Hakuba has 50% less snow depth then years before.

The rest of Japan is suffering and even Hokkaido / Iwate resorts are seeing less snow than previous years :( Miyagi is nearly dead snow wise this season. Feelsbadman
