@Cadesworth2 жыл бұрын
It would be racist because equating blackness with "the ghetto" is an extremely reductive way of looking at both institutional racism and black people as individuals. Blackness isn't the same as the ghetto, but blackness often exists in "the ghetto" because black people have been historically marginalized. Besides, anyone implying black rappers as a whole are "ghetto" is just displaying how much they have to learn about hip hop. Hope this helped ^^

As soon as I heard her say “Satan-sama” I knew it was going downhill from there. EDIT: Have heard the whole thing now. I didn't think it could be that embarassing but this is legitimately the corniest thing I've ever heard. It makes fucking HAZBIN HOTEL look un-corny in comparison. It's so bad. It's so fucking bad. It's like the worst musical number you'd hear in a cartoon with the singer intentionally using the most annoying rapping voice possible to show you how "quirky" and "humorous" they are like "Haha I'm talking really fast while rapping!" It's like if you combined that one white girl in high school who tries to impress people with "I CAN TOTALLY RAP THE FAST PART FROM RAP GOD!" with an obnoxious theater kid, and some edgelord boy who wears ahegao hoodies. I hate to say it, but I'd rather listen to Revival than this. I'd rather listen to that Hobo Johnson song about seeing the world than this.

At least with AJR you can tell that they're talented artists who simply lack tasteful restraint. You know that if they didn't have that little voice in the back of their heads saying "add more spokestep and more piano and more horns and more...", they'd be much more pleasant to listen to. This on the other hand is irredeemable. That last clip you played where she was singing was surprisingly amateurish and unremarkable for someone who has so many obnoxiously devoted supporters.

I think it should be clarified that she herself is aware that this isn't very good lmao. She literally tried to bury this, took it off streaming sites and has stated a couple of times that thinks her more older works are bad. The only reason why it was uncovered was because someone came across a massive dump of her old discography on the subbreddit for this artist's music and decided to upload it to youtube. Now granted her newer stuff isn't that much better either but now it goes from "wow you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the genre you are trying to be in and you're super corny for rapping about it" to just "just kinda corny" at worst.

The flow and delivery sounded like they crammed a bunch of words in a line and figured instead of removing some words to make a good flow, they'd just say them all and hope for the best. Also its funny how the lyrics critique other rappers for being repetitive and unoriginal yet the rhymes are some of the most basic and simple rhyme schemes one can come up with.
