While I'm not going to say that his career has been irredeemable since that album, there is very little of it that I find myself going back to. If you enjoy what he's been doing for the past 45 years, you are certainly welcome to it, but I can safely say that his more soft rock and adult contemporary-tinged blues stuff just isn't for me.

I honestly really liked the idea of Hobo Johnson’s song. Like, at some point as kids or teens we all realized how fucked up the world actually is, and the weird feeling of wanting to somehow fix something way bigger than you from across the globe but feeling powerless to make things right is I think something a lot of people have experienced. If only he had used this as a setup to say anything beyond “the world sucks oh well time for alcohol”

@@walter4180 I don't think so. There was a distinct change in Anthony's reviews around the George Floyd/Trump v Biden election that has increasingly colored his reviews. He drops more political ideas more regularly and with less thought as to their relevancy to the album. The mindset of the Burzum review from a long time ago was an anomaly but is becoming the norm. More deplatforming, more personal attacks, more artist > art, etc. Same with his livestreams and other channel's content. It's become *unnecessarily* political and it doesn't forward the message of his critiques
