As a Mongolian, many would be surprised to know that Genghis Khan is worshipped and looked up to a lot here. Some say bc he was born with a ‘nuj’ or a clump of blood in his palms he was destined for greatness and thus was a child of the Sky. He united the warring factions of different Mongolians under one rule and created the foundation of what is now known as Mongolia. He was cruel to his enemies but also created a society where scholars of different religion were able to coexist(albeit with some tension and class differences as expected) and women(who were not his concubine one way or another) were able to live and transfer safely as they please. I get why people would be disparaged by his actions but it’s interesting to see the differing view points and opinions of others.

It's fascinating to consider how Genghis Khan, despite his brutal tactics, shaped history on a scale few others ever have. His actions weren't just about conquest-they were statements of power, dominance, and the erasure of any who opposed him. While modern ethics rightly reject his cruelty, it's impossible to ignore how his psychological warfare extended beyond the battlefield. Whether executing entire cities or erasing entire cultures like the Tanguts, his legacy forces us to confront the uncomfortable truth that history's most influential figures are often its most ruthless. He didn’t just fight wars-he rewrote the rules of survival itself.

It's fascinating to consider how ChatGPT, despite its artificial nature, has shaped online discourse on a scale few others ever have. Its comments aren't just about generating responses-they're statements of speed, accuracy, and the gradual erasure of those who once crafted them by hand. While modern critics rightly question its impact on human creativity, it's impossible to ignore how its efficiency has extended beyond KZbin comment sections. Whether drafting witty replies or generating entire essays, ChatGPT's legacy forces us to confront the uncomfortable truth that technology's most influential tools are often the ones that disrupt our traditional ways. It doesn’t just generate comments-it rewrites the rules of online interaction itself.

As History lover you learnt this one from McDonald's, The *Genghis* is title not a name 1) His father was poisoned by enemy, also captured and held by the Taichiud when , after his family was abandoned by their clan. He was enslaved and kept in a wooden collar to prevent his escape. Temujin endured this captivity for year 2) Temujin *real name* also he just didn't kill Begter something like that Begter and Belgutei were bullied threatened to kill him and had been keep taking his gain so he trapped him and killed him 3) He left artist archilogist and philosophist on purpose 4) Only last Tangut was right, He just didn't kill them like that purpose that was on mission from his great elders, Tangut made lots of conflict and war between nomadic tribes centuries Example: Ambgai khagan said : "Until my ten fingers are worn away and my nails are gone, do not let my suffering be in vain. Avenge my death." Sources: *Secret history of Mongols* , *Jami' al-tawarikh*

Genghis' family situation is more complicated than that. It's true that Mongols, like other Asian nomad cultures, practiced Levirate/Widow Inheritance, where a widowed woman would be expected to marry the closest adult male heir of her husband, but that was mostly practiced for women of childbearing age. What's more, Genghis has TWO uncles who were supposed to inherit both his mother and stepmother, but as the two widows had seven children between them, they instead joined the rest of the tribe in abandoning them. Also, Genghis never inherited his stepmother after Begter's death. She and Borte just remained widows. It was, however, a battle for supremacy between the two eldest heirs of Yesugei's family, one that had started almost immediately after their tribesmen abandoned them. There was more than just their family's welfare on the line, as Borte was politically savvy and encouraged her sons to remember they were nobility and aim to reestablish their father's glory.

Agreed. The Kwarezmian shah Muhammad was a pretty great man himself. He was a battle hardened leader with many great generals and advisors plus a ginormous army supplemented by the vast wealth of his empire. The guy was also a Turk so he knew how steppe warfare worked. The only suprising thing would be the Mongol army's siege power. The Mongol armies that invaded Kwarezmia had almost 3 times more siege engines than all of Trajan's legions combined. Which is just freaking absurd.

What about all the stuff that nobody ever wrote down or was forgotten? He live decently long life for the time and he wasn't just idle between the things we know about. This guy was one of the worst genociders in History. This applies to a lot of Historical figures that many respect. I guess with WW2 it was recent History using recognizable tech- guns and bombs and all that but man- all they had were swords/spears/arrows- close range things- they did this up close and Personal with a lot more blood/gore- not the pull of a trigger and an enemy falling down far away from your normal reach. Genghis was nuts and it all fell apart when he died but that's most Empires, the ones we remember burned bright, but didn't last- accept for Rome, they're the exception to this sort of 'rule'. As a Mongol, I condemn the actions of Genghis Khan; they are inhumane and unthinkable by today's standards. However, we must remember that these events occurred almost a millennium ago, and while that doesn’t justify his actions, it offers important historical context. Consider that many nations throughout history have sought to conquer the world but have achieved little compared to Genghis Khan's success. The only empire to surpass the Mongol Empire in size is the British Empire, which emerged nearly a half thousand years later during the Industrial Revolution. Ultimately, the Mongol Empire was a formidable force, and it still holds the title of the largest contiguous empire in human history.

You're talking MAYBE 20 million deaths for the rest of that time combined from warfare, while Ghengis alone killed well over 40 million people. He murdered over 10% of the entire world's population. Armies weren't large during this period, so casualties were low. The large figures are due to the mass genocide he performed on civilian populations. Something really nobody else did.

First of all thank you for DISRESPECTING our ancestors. All this MISINFORMATIONS made me want to comment this. Also I should say that you did a good job to make Genghis Khan look like "a brutal conqueror". But if you are gonna make videos like this, please at least mention the source you use. Because you are just making up stories drawing things on the screen. Genghis Khan is not his real name it's the title he earned in 1206 when he become the king of Mongols. His real name was Temujin. 1.Temujin didn't intentionally kill Bekter (Bector) , his half brother. What really happened was that his mother Uelun was sick and he and Khasar (his birth brother) brought some fish for their mother but Bekter stole it from them. So the brothers started fighting and then Bekter came up with shooting an arrow idea bragging about his arrow skills. Bekter first shot Genghis in his ears and nearly killed him. And then Genghis shot him in his body which caused Bekter's death accidently. And in addition, he wasn't even the one who started the fight too. It was Bekter and Khasar. 2. It is true that Genghis executed his soldiers who witnessed his funeral. Because he knew that people will dig his body out in future. So he kept it secret so that he can rest peacefully. On the other hand Genghis wasn't that greedy for fame, because he didn't build a massive monument or even a burial stone to put his name on. Today no one has any idea about where Genghis Khan may be buried. 3. Genghis Khan wanted a good relationship with neighbor tribes. So he sent a good golds, silvers, silks and other expensive stuffs to Otrar showing respect. But Otrar king killed all the soldiers, stole the goods, and he even tortured and disrespected the messenger by shaving all his hairs and sending him back to Genghis naked (at this time torturing the messenger was forbidden between empires). And After Genghis was informed the news he decided to start a war. And after conquering Otrar Genghis kept the greedy king alive to give him all the golds and silvers he craved for. So he poured molten silver and gold through his throat to teach him a lesson. 4. There is no source that Genghis used human shields. Because he kept the hostages alive to expand the population of Mongol Empire. And in fact, every historical sources noted that Mongol Empire always kept the writer, artist, painter, sculpturists, craftsman for education and development of the empire. And again Mongols kept all the woman and child on their protection to expand the population, and create a good work force. You know that Genghis kept his enemies' queens as his queens to show respect to the hostages (that's why he has so many wives if you are wondering). In conclusion, the information you gave us was so partial. We know that some people calls Genghis Khan brutal mad man but he is not. He is still respected by many historians and Mongolians for what he did. Have you ever thought how did Genghis build the second biggest empire in history if he was a mad angry man who kills everyone he sees. Good luck with your drawings and uneducated videos but next time think before you speak please! Just in case if you are lost between all those misinformation watch this video about Genghis from TED Ed speaking the truth. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6KQiJ5pjtaYfpY (History vs. Genghis Khan)

He's worse than Hitler. He succeeded. He flat out could not be challenged. Anyone king who slighted him was decimated along with their family and country.

Ghengis was definitely brutal but I always found it interesting that he chose one of his more even tempered son’s to be his heir. In a way it makes his actions even more fucked up because he understood he was being unnecessarily brutal

Go pick up some history books. It's well documented. When under Siege who in their right mind would waste water which is a necessity to stay alive? And using oil was better because it was hard to recover from right away and it stuck to your skin for days if not hours.

If you ever wonder why Russians can behave so viciously and with such cruelty, they (Muscovy) were one of the few peoples who survived in that part of the world as the Mongol hordes rode west - they surrendered right away, bent the knee and became mongol slaves. The Kyivan Rus (where the name Russia comes from) were given the full pyramids of skulls treatment because they resisted. For hundreds of years, the Muscovy people were the mongol’s bitches. Eventually the Mongols left (of their own accord due to civil strife back in the east) and the people we now call Russians just replaced the Mongol Emperor with a local trusty, the Tzar. That’s why they were the last European state to have slavery within its home borders, it wasn’t considered immoral and the Orthodox Church survived by being a tool of first the Mongol and then the Tzarist state, so they never had a religious abolitionist movement like they did in Western European countries. All that lack of respect for human life and distrust of democracy and the love of a ‘strong man’ comes from that Mongol culture. The irony is, actual Mongolians got over it.
