The point about slide cancelling is so spot on imo. When people found out about it we were calling it an exploit because that’s what it was, but then all the sweats started making montages abusing it and screamed about how it was a skill mechanic that made the game better. Most people don’t slide cancel at all in average lobbies but it’s about all I see because I maintain a 1.2-1.4 KD which isn’t even very good. COD was never a movement shooter franchise and I genuinely believe it’s made the franchise worse because of it. I yearn for an old COD style game where we don’t have any of that shit, sliding like you said shouldn’t be a violently offensive mechanic but a way to escape a gunfight.

I understand you mostly play COD for the multiplayer and have gone on record as hating most COD campaigns, but I feel like calling Infinite Warfare "bad" and just leaving it at that is a bit reductive; it had one of the best campaigns in the series with lots of optional missions, player choice and some really well done story beats. One of the few COD campaigns where I actually cared about the characters and was even sad when some of them died. I'll concede that IW's multiplayer was hot garbage, and seeing as how to most people, the multiplayer IS Call of Duty, it's understandable that the game is so reviled. That being said, I stand by the campaign and I wish more people would go back and try it, it was genuinely a step up from most of the campaigns we've gotten and I wish they'd innovated on that formula and focused more on player agency and good storytelling in future campaigns instead of immediately going back to the scripted interactive action movie nonsense with the next game. Honestly I think you should try it out and maybe even do a video on it, I really think you'd find enjoyment in it if you gave it a shot. Not saying you'll love it or anything, but for a COD campaign its surprisingly solid imo.

WW2 was overdone by the time the original CoD released in 2003. But that game got a pass because it handled the setting completely different from every other WW2 shooter at the time.

By 2003 not yet that much, but definitely by 2005 when COD 2 and MOHPA released. Brothers in Arms EiB too. So many of these games released and by that year we truly had enough of WW2 shooters. What COULD be refreshing is a WW2 shooter where you play on the Axis side. But no such shooter came.

@@alewis514 yeah the closest thing we got was The Last Tiger Campaign in Battlefield 5. A full on CoD campaign where you play as a Wermacht soldier would be “too controversial”.

Not a competitive player. I enjoy CoD MP with bots. Obviously this is NOT the intended way for MP, but it does NOT abuse any meta and the bots cover a reasonable baseline behavior, so it is just amazing

WaW was the GOAT. The balancing was good, the maps were creative and fair, and the killstreaks weren't overpowered.

The worst thing for Modern Warfare 2 '09 is Activision's lack of support to even fix the servers on PC. And it isn't just MW2, it's EVERY game in the series that is suffering from RCE. Also, I wanna mention, MW2 (2022) chose to basically SINK CoD's image with one thing..... Warzone. You know the saying "it's the same game every year"? Well it actually feels like it is the same game every year because of Activision's reliance on Warzone, even MW3 (2023)'s campaign is just smaller portions of Warzone. And it's gonna be the same with Black Ops 6, it's gonna be smaller portions of Warzone, it's nothing BUT Warzone!

I haven't played cod since black ops. And judging by what I've seen I haven't missed anything. Tbf I'm also not an online shooter guy anymore so cod would never really appeal to me and I can't justify full price for a small campaign. Love the videos mate have a great day.

I left after MW2 original. And came back for MW 2019 for a short time. Didn't last long, haven't bought another cod since lol. Series just isn't for me anymore.

Give Black Ops 2's campaign a chance. Played it too late because I also lost interest in CoD right before MW3, but I found BO2 to be another improvement from Treyarch after WaW and BO1.

my biggest problem with cod as a campaign only player, ( or used to be, mw2 2022 put me off the series for good, thankfully before mw3 2023) is how they've leaned more and more into per level gimmicks. having a level with a turret or vehicle section or ac130 mission once in a while was neat, but by black ops 2's campaign, nearly every other mission had a new gimmick. and now it's like every single mission in mw2 2022 has a gimmick again. 2019 had a few gimmicks, the guiding the hostage, the kid level, sniper defense, but they were relatively unobtrusive besides the hostage guiding. 2022's return to obtrusive/annoying level gimmicks was a huge letdown. this level has stealth and crafting, this level has body armored ememies, etc.

ah man the here is a gimic for this one level. never used again. or used one time. Like Im trying to remember what game had a gimmick that was (the player character is a IT/computer expert). so the player had lots of cool and fun stuff. mission 3 player does the first gimmick Radio jamming (this causes enemies to be unable to sound the alarm over radio or call in reinforcement). used a lot in mission 3 (semi stealth mission) and then used about one more time in the whole campagn. and its not like the player can choice to use it on any other mission it just straight up not an option. secound gimmick the player had Computer hacking stuff that did something not a hold E for 6 sec to hack the door to open (that any operative can do) or extract mission data. not this was fun stuff like turn lights off/on, turn alarms on/off, change automatic turrets stuff. Used one time in the whole game and how was it used the player needed to guide a NPC solder out of a location and the player spent 90% of that mission moving between control/security rooms. and after that it never really was used again. or the the gloves from infinity wars that let you climb walls used about 6 times throughout the game and all was mandatory climbing stuff. no oh here is a mission let me climb up this thing for an advantage or I could take the main route.

Yeah, any campaign level that was basically OKAY WE'RE BUILDING AN ENTIRE LEVEL AROUND THIS ONE GIMMICK. Also campaign levels with TONS of "walk and talk" moments between too few action set-pieces. Like I want a level to be constantly fighting, not fighting 20 guys, then slowly following somebody into another room, fight 20 guys, then slowly follow them again into another room rinse and repeat

I've been playing Call of Duty since Black Ops 1. I've played the the previous COD's but only for the campaign. I didn't get big into the multiplayer until BO1 and BO2, it's always hard to choose which BO is my favourite but I played 2 the most and have more memories with it so I will choose that one. I played AW but took a hiatus until MW2019 I really enjoyed that call of duty but I haven't played another since...the games just aren't what they used to be.

Infinite warfare would be a great sci fi tv show or movie trilogy. In my mind its the sequel to Ghosts, which also had similar issues. Infinite warfare is not bad, it just did not appeal to the core fanbase. Cod players like contemporary modern/slightly old (1980s) settings. Cod players want beefy conventional firearms, not abstract laser guns and pristine environments. My personal headcanon is that its a prequel to Halo

I've always liked that you're not afraid to spout more relatively "spicy" takes (remember that Far Cry ranking lol? I agree though FC2 > FC4 > FC3) About quickscoping in BO2, iirc when BO1 released quickscoping was heavily nerfed so that your gun would sway when you scope in and you had to wait a bit for it to steady, but the backlash was so severe it was reverted. Also I really agree with your take on MW's SBMM, I'm not against the concept of SBMM, but whatever system of SBMM CoD does now feels.... so shit

Hey Jarek people weren't slide canceling in mw2 (2022), that was not a thing lol. Dolphin dive was used way more than sliding. Sliding was pretty unpopular in mw2

Slide canceling absolutely was a thing in 2022, it was slower but still imperative to do if you wanted to play at a higher level. Dolphin diving was way more committal. People didn't do it. Not sure where you got your info but it's wrong.

I mean if everything is busted and broken, is anything broken by that logic? That's what makes games like DotA 2, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and Modern Warfare 2 so much fun. No one really cared about balancing back then because it felt like an A beat B beats C beats D beats A of fast paced aracdey FPSs for the era

Yes, things are still broken (noobtubes for example) and yes, people absolutely cared back then. That was the big argument on treyarch vs infinity ward back in the day. Treyarch's games were more balanced.

I've been hoping for a riskier CoD formula for years now, haha Imagine a spinoff that's entirely zombies focused, campaign and all Or a campaign that's like a CoD take on the Far Cry or MGS V formula, playing in single player or co-op on like Warzone-sized open world maps with roaming AI squads and various objectives I really hope they try something new and fun someday

Nah. Infinite warfare was low iq dev work. Loot boxes containing weapon variants. Jet pack trash. Cool maps. I’ll give em that. Maps were cool to play on. But the weapons movement and kill streaks or characters were all garbage.

5:53 The layouts and everything and the size of the map was because it was supposed to be more of a 12 V12 ground war type thing like what they implemented in modern warfare 2019 with ground war That's why the maps were so big but from what I heard they couldn't get it implemented properly because of the game releasing on both old Gen and NextGen consoles so they scrap the idea but kept the maps which is why the maps were just so stupidly big I did honestly enjoy the game though it's one of my favorite call of duties and it's one of the first call of duties I personally bought with my own money I think I bought that first then I bought advanced warfare Black ops 3 infinite warfare world war II Black ops 4 and the last call of duty I ever bought was modern warfare 2019 I have not purchased a call of duty since then because for one trying to launch the stupid game on my computer is a pain ever since they put in call of duty HQ and makes the download size retarded as well as being fine for like 5 minutes and then crashing no matter the settings
