Worst way to eat veggies: 1. Overcook veggies but soups/stews are okay because you are drinking the broth. 2. Don't throw away stems of broccoli, greens of carrots 3. Don't cook in unhealthy fats or serve with an unhealthy fat if raw (use olive oil). Avoid sugar/ultraprocessed foods/dressings. Instead using spices/herbs to flavor. 4. Deep frying veggies. Roast/bake/air fry veggies instead. 5. Don't just eat a few veggies. Eat the rainbow. We need a variety. Consider organics due to higher polyphenols. Consider getting frozen organic veggies. Veggies are prebiotics and are good for gut health. Thank you Dr. Li! Great video as usual.

Thanks! After listening to you and reading your first book, I am cooking the broccoli steams now too. I also over planted broccoli this season, and I am thinning out the plants by eating sprouts. Thanks so much for the videos! I love vegetables and fruits. Frozen organic like wild blueberries are a great option for out of season or less expensive options.

Thank you so much Dr Li, I am learning such a lot from you and making changes gradually. I love your positive approach and the way you can simplfy complicated conditions so that they are easy to understand. You mentioned oregano in this video which I ate for years, and loved, but then I discovered that everytime I added it to my food I had an upset stomach, pain, felt sick and really ill for hours. I discovered that majoram, which I have since learned is a relative of oregano, affects me in the same way. I wonder if you can understand this? Everyone I speak to seems puzzled including my doctor.

He can't do that. You need to see a doctor to do some tests first. Maybe you have allergies that you don't know about, and he gave you advice to eat certain foods that your body can't tolerate.

Hmmm I suggest a Nutribullet and purée the vegetables that are Ok to be eaten raw or blanched, into a smoothie; add a banana or some berries, it’s great.

I steam everything that has to be cooked. The most gentle, possibly least expensive healthy way to cook. Keeps all the flavour

Some vitamins in some veggies aren't ascertainable unless well cooked (ie tomatoes) PLUS the longer some vegetables are cooked the more healthy FIBER you get. Remember there is always a balance. Over... YES, OVER cook some. Eat some RAW. Lightly steam or stir fry some. Btw, olive oil has a low smoke point and is NOT good for cooking with because it's RUINED when using on high heat like for stir frying! The better oil to use is pure avocado oil it has zero flavor and doesn't break down using high temps. Even juice some, and then cook the leftover pulp with beans/legumes into a HIGH fiber soup-stew. They ferment in your gut/colon and create a very healthy biome! Don't always eat your veggies only prepared 1 or 2 different ways, but use a large variety of ways for a plethora of veggies.

I never deep fry food, let alone vegie's! I eat lots of greens, tomato's, mushrooms, beetroot, mixed veg. I use extra virgin olive oil. I mix some pickle in with the mix veg/snack box. I eat the stems of the broccoli and coli flour, but the outside skin needs peeled off, as it can be a bit hard .
