oh. i like that idea. i started keto in 2019 and was able to drop 20+ pounds in 3 months. then i went to new orleans and EVERYTHING fell apart. i’ve attempted to restart keto and have been on and off again in 2020 for the first few months. the pandemic led me to give up altogether and turn to the worst/most damaging foods. doesn’t help that i’m an emotional eater and am a sweet AND salty foods person. so here i am, restarting keto for the 4th? 5th? 10th time? i think i’m going to take your advice and assign one day as a non keto day and see if i’m successful at sticking to keto in the long run.

I started getting into keto when I was 6 months pregnant with my third baby and was borderline gestational diabetic. I've always been athletic and ate healthy but after having kids kind of put that on the back burner. I felt so much better just taking out the carbs, my blood sugars were almost going hypoglycemic so they were very low. I had no swelling and gained no weight in pregnancy once I started keto. I've kept it up now since giving birth, but in the morning I do eat just plain oatmeal with monk fruit sugar in the morning to keep my milk supply up. Overall pretty happy with my lifestyle change , channels like yours help bc sometimes I get stuck in a rut in what to make to stay on diet.

My niece could eat 2 McDonald's double cheese burgers at the age of 2. While my 3 and 6 year old were sharing one. Her dad would brag that she was just going to be big like him. Instead of having his health issues and bad eating habits my brother in law just pushed it into his kids as a generic issue. I saw this my whole life. My family had horrible was eating habits and pushed onto the next generation as genetics. I struggle with my weight and most of my struggles have to do with habits I developed as a child. One of the worse ones for me is pilling your plate with food and then you have to eat everything on your plate... My point is admit your struggles and your mistakes so that your kids can learn from them instead of thinking that's the only way you can do it

Would have been an excellent opportunity to point out that her brother with digestive issues needs to look at some science. It all pretty much says that the less fiber a person eats the less digestive distress they have.
@jaytee2642

@@caseybrannon4975 I eat quite a bit of fiber, and my digestion is fine. Only problem is if I don't eat salads for awhile ( typically in the winter) and then start again. But everything readjusts pretty quickly. And I have a 62 year old digestive tract.👍🏻
@caseybrannon4975
@caseybrannon4975 3 жыл бұрын
@@jaytee2642 That's good to hear. My 45yo digestive tract doesn't have any trouble with fiber either. In fact most people don't, but the ones that do benefit from less to zero fiber in their diets. It's a fact. Any study that's "pro fiber" is a study where the word "correlated" is used. They are looking for it so they see it. In other words, not actual science, but bias. They have to use biased observation because actual intervention studies where they use actual science all say this, "Less fiber in the diet yields less symptoms from ". That said, and maybe TMI here, but I've always gotten a gold star for doing my business. I went carnivore for a month last year. Went from gold star to hand written "good job" smiley face notes :D Only reason I stopped is from excessive pressure from my wife complaining about meal prep. So I will eat whatever veggies she cooks to appease the master of the house. And I do like them, I just don't believe they benefit me in any shape, form, or fashion.

Great advice, Matt. I’ve been “attempting” keto for almost a year with limited success in the weight loss area. I’m 72, feel much better but I’m still overweight. I am finally coming around to understanding what you’re saying in this video. You’re so right. It’s not intuitive advice but now it makes total sense to me. This is a whole process not a diet. You guys started me on this path. I listen to you. LCHF is not easy but I don’t think “easy” would work for most folks long term. It didn’t work for me during multiple “diets” and hundreds of lost pounds, all quickly regained. I am grateful to you guys for starting me in this direction.

Then they aired the show with all his "body type" ideas, but with another Dr. Then half the stuff on the shows were made up. A ton of misinformation, because they didn't want Berg. Don’t know which of your videos first mentioned coconut wraps, but they’re the bomb! I use a half of one for a hamburger bun and it works great, but they work fantastically as substitute lasagna noodles. I’ve tried everything I can think of for keto lasagna and nothing has even come close to the real thing until now. There is no coconut flavor and while they are not thick like a real noodle they keep the layers separate and are not soupy. A winner in my book!

I agree about recalibrating your palate. Like a lot of other people I grew up eating cereal for breakfast every day. Even all the years I was in the sport of bicycle racing as an adult, cereal was my go-to first meal of the day. HUGE bowls of cereal. I never could have imagined that some day I'd instead be eating 3-4 egg omelettes and various types of meat for breakfast, like I do now. I've already tried Birch Benders mug cakes, waffles and their pancake mix, which are all good. I might check out the cake mix and frosting if any local stores start carrying those.

Been away from KZbin for a bit and wow! I cannot believe Theo is walking! Seems like just yesterday he was born! You two are great. A great team. Yes, Matt gets passionate and a little pushy about his views but he's not wrong. And Megha is the perfect partner, more subtle, more tolerant, but also bringing up valid points so worth hearing. Emphasis on the "so" as in "SO" WORTH HEARING! lol! Great job putting the mainstream idiots in their place. And congrats on the new addition!

I LOVE the "re-calibrating your diet" tip. So many of us were raised free-ranging junky non-foods that, like you mentioned, are engineered to taste uber-good. Compared to those tastes, an apple tastes underwhelming. I have tried to eat heavy on whole, real foods for several years now, but since starting keto, I realize that I still find many whole foods underwhelming. I am committed to re-training my palate. For instance, we have hens but I don't love eggs....but we have lots and they are helpful on keto, so I will find a way to eat them. :)

What brand is the breakfast sausage? All that I have looked at my only grocery store have sugar and other junk things. I do shop at Albertsons if I am out of town, so do they have a breakfast sausage I can buy? Thanks for your help!

I have long abandoned keto cakes and sweets. Why would I want to be cajoled and coaxed back into eating the old SAD garbage I used to eat.

That's where I'm going wrong atm. Lost 93lbs, then started keto baking, and have stalled. Need to get back to basics!

Absolutely agree with everything you say. I used to eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. I always had tummy issues almost daily. I now eat the keto way which consists of very little carb and more fat-based meat, fish, eggs, occasionally nuts, and only eat twice a day now. I'm a 60 year old woman who works out in the morning (aerobics and weights). First meal between 1 or 2 pm; last meal around 6 pm. Eat until I'm full and really don't even care about desserts. You can do it. One day at a time, one meal at a time. You fall off, get back on the next day.

Your right on point with your discussion. I couldn't agree more. After 3 failed attempts at keto, I'm finally in ketosis. However, I'm experiencing oily urine. Have you guys heard of this? Is this normal and how long does this last? I'm getting mixed info on the web...
