I started getting into keto when I was 6 months pregnant with my third baby and was borderline gestational diabetic. I've always been athletic and ate healthy but after having kids kind of put that on the back burner. I felt so much better just taking out the carbs, my blood sugars were almost going hypoglycemic so they were very low. I had no swelling and gained no weight in pregnancy once I started keto. I've kept it up now since giving birth, but in the morning I do eat just plain oatmeal with monk fruit sugar in the morning to keep my milk supply up. Overall pretty happy with my lifestyle change , channels like yours help bc sometimes I get stuck in a rut in what to make to stay on diet.

@@jaytee2642 That's good to hear. My 45yo digestive tract doesn't have any trouble with fiber either. In fact most people don't, but the ones that do benefit from less to zero fiber in their diets. It's a fact. Any study that's "pro fiber" is a study where the word "correlated" is used. They are looking for it so they see it. In other words, not actual science, but bias. They have to use biased observation because actual intervention studies where they use actual science all say this, "Less fiber in the diet yields less symptoms from ". That said, and maybe TMI here, but I've always gotten a gold star for doing my business. I went carnivore for a month last year. Went from gold star to hand written "good job" smiley face notes :D Only reason I stopped is from excessive pressure from my wife complaining about meal prep. So I will eat whatever veggies she cooks to appease the master of the house. And I do like them, I just don't believe they benefit me in any shape, form, or fashion.

Great advice, Matt. I’ve been “attempting” keto for almost a year with limited success in the weight loss area. I’m 72, feel much better but I’m still overweight. I am finally coming around to understanding what you’re saying in this video. You’re so right. It’s not intuitive advice but now it makes total sense to me. This is a whole process not a diet. You guys started me on this path. I listen to you. LCHF is not easy but I don’t think “easy” would work for most folks long term. It didn’t work for me during multiple “diets” and hundreds of lost pounds, all quickly regained. I am grateful to you guys for starting me in this direction.

It's easier if you have a nutritionist to make sure you're getting electrolytes. I suggest joining a keto group on Facebook, if you can't afford personalized help. Or you can join Dr. Berg's club online. You can even call them with questions. Great program.

My niece could eat 2 McDonald's double cheese burgers at the age of 2. While my 3 and 6 year old were sharing one. Her dad would brag that she was just going to be big like him. Instead of having his health issues and bad eating habits my brother in law just pushed it into his kids as a generic issue. I saw this my whole life. My family had horrible was eating habits and pushed onto the next generation as genetics. I struggle with my weight and most of my struggles have to do with habits I developed as a child. One of the worse ones for me is pilling your plate with food and then you have to eat everything on your plate... I LOVE the "re-calibrating your diet" tip. So many of us were raised free-ranging junky non-foods that, like you mentioned, are engineered to taste uber-good. Compared to those tastes, an apple tastes underwhelming. I have tried to eat heavy on whole, real foods for several years now, but since starting keto, I realize that I still find many whole foods underwhelming. I am committed to re-training my palate. Absolutely agree with everything you say. I used to eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. I always had tummy issues almost daily. I now eat the keto way which consists of very little carb and more fat-based meat, fish, eggs, occasionally nuts, and only eat twice a day now. I'm a 60 year old woman who works out in the morning (aerobics and weights). First meal between 1 or 2 pm; last meal around 6 pm. Eat until I'm full and really don't even care about desserts. You can do it. One day at a time, one meal at a time. You fall off, get back on the next day.
