Her talent is basically on the top of the pyramid. Her likability backstage is basically underground, below the pyramid. She's the perfect example of somebody being their own worst enemy, whether they realize it or not. She had tons of potential, but just could never keep her mouth shut and attitude in check. Looking back, it was very telling when she was one of the first women eliminated in the Mae Young Classic 2017, where she lost in the first round to eventual winner Kairi Sane.

I think it's all bunk. Other than the hogging of the Impact belt in 2020, all the other stuff is just unproven. Tessa wanted to be the next Charlotte and to get treated that way, but the big promotions had a quota only for one, or no money left over for her. The accusations were emphasized to work as cover for not giving her the same stature. The fact that she didn't bow to PC claptrap and the "apologize" crowd was her finest moment as a human being. She may yet return to the biz and get her due.

The problem is, there are three sides to every story, The two sides and the truth. Unfortunately we never really got her side to add to the allegations of others to see the truth, which is usually somewhere in the middle. BTW there is no redemption in cancel culture, name one person that was forgiven for their transgressions. The only people that that survived cancel culture, are those that carved their own path and didn't bend the knee. Johnny Depp, Gina Carano, they forced people to see them, despite the cancel pressure and came out of it in many ways better than before. Johnny is the top seller of Dior's cologne and Gina is making movies in other places and even got her own movie idea made and out in theaters. This whole apology thing is Bullcrap, there is no redemption when you bend the knee to these people. It's like a dog, the moment you cower to them, they KNOW they OWN you

I agree. As for her career 'derailing,' I think that narrative of her career is over hyped. You claim Kairi's career derailed when she was underutilized in WWE, but look, she is back as a champion at Stardom in Japan. Shotzi's career was said to be derailed 5 years ago when she was removed from Tough Enough, but now she is a main roster attraction. They said Paige was finished, but she is in a top in-ring role on AEW now. All Tessa needs to do is become champ in AAA or NWA, and she can leverage that for a comeback in the US.

Except the accusations didn’t cancel her. Her poor attitude is why she’s in the position she’s in. Keep in mind the accusations came before she won Impacts world title. Post accusations she won their world title. But when she wouldn’t come to the US or even do recorded promos for impact during the pandemic they terminated her agreement. She was supposed to be apart of WOW but had issues with the company and was let loose. Her issues are far from accusations alone as much as her inability to get along and go along backstage or with management of anywhere she works. Sometimes if everything ends in issues you simply consider what the common variable happens to be and it happens to be her. If she had her attitude in check who knows just where she’d be now?

She will no doubt get yet another chance or five because her potential is off the charts and can't be ignored. She'll eventually learn from her mistakes, changes her ways, and finally becomes a massive star, or she won't learn until it's far too late (well into her 40's) in which case she becomes a tragic "what if" story. I sure hope it's not the latter, because that would be incredibly sad. I've never seen a better female wrestler then her. I think that Tessa could do the work still and make a comeback and people might accept it. I think there’s very few things you can do in wrestling that you can’t come back from. Hogan being a prime example, yeah, he’s more legendary than Tessa but Tessa’s accusations are just that, very probable accusations but still accusations. Hogan’s had audio/video proof and a widespread well known lawsuit attached to it. So there’s always the possibility Tessa could eventually come back, apologize, and I think she’d be welcomed back. And I personally think somewhere like WWE would be a good fit for her if she was coming back. WWE has a way of helping people grow up somewhat it seems. People like Orton , Cena etc. with guidance and a little help I think Tessa could eventually be looked at how she should have been without all this.

This is a prime example of being mindful of your actions and what you say in the world of social media. If Tessa would have never posted her tweet, we would not have found out that she is racist. I believe in the women wrestlers who clapped back at her and especially Rose La Negra for her reputation has always been positive as a supporter of women's wrestling. Tessa dug the hole, put the career in the coffin, nailed shut, and buried it. She killed her wrestling career. Yes. We all make mistakes but we must own up to them as well. Tessa never owned up to what she did. She hope it will not surface but when it did, she didn't woman up and say she was sorry. She never told her fans she made a mistake. She never gave Rose an apology. Why? When you are a racist it is justified. That's the legacy of Tessa Blanchard. The wrestler who could have been and it will never know!!!
@brianscallions433
@brianscallions433 10 ай бұрын
yeah right like an apology would have magically fixed everything. That would have been her admitting to the incident and she still would have been black balled. You ever notice how no people of color are ever accused of racism? Do you think that is because they never commit acts of racism? For example black people attacking asian people in America over the last few years was never called acts of racism, but that is exactly what it was. No one was allowed to call it that because calling it racism would have been an act of "racism". Once people have a crutch to lean on, they will in fact lean on that crutch until they can no longer. No one who has been accused of racism and apologized for it have ever been given a second chance. None of the people accusing her were ever on her level of talent and the story even starts off saying that many people were jealous of her. Just makes you wonder if there is some other motive for them saying those things about her... especially after they waited so long to say anything. Other wrestlers have been called out for being terrible backstage presences without a magic tweet that spurred it. Just seems suspect.

As an old man and old school wrasslin' fan, I got something to say. Racism, unfortunately, has always been an angle, a work, within the industry as long as I can remember and growing up some of my fave wrestlers were JYD and Ernie 'The Cat' Ladd. Back when wrestling magazines would show full page color photos of blood and gore. I remember a rivalry with JYD and Dick (Captain Redneck and KKK member) Murdoch having their match twinged with racism in all the promos. Kids today remember when Ron Simmons won the NWA title, I saw it live. I grew up in same town as him and know how there was racism in our town growing up in the deep south. He was a football star and went far, bless him, good guy and deserving of every accolade. Was glad to see him get out. For anyone who follows the NFL, you have to know the term, "You're a Packer or you're moving on." Green Bay was not kind to people of color, if you don't know what that saying is referring to, it's what people on the street would say to a person of color, telling them they better be one of the football players or they better move on down the road and go somewhere else. But back to wrestling, it's always been full of racism. From who gets to have the titles, to who gets pushed and who gets jobbed 'The Klik' were famous for that, if you remember the lame Attitude Era. WWE with the Godfather and gold-digger dancers Cameron and Naomi, that's a racial stereotype as much as Sheamus' being a drunk Irishman. So again, there's still racism and bigotry going on wrestling. WWE fans just don't care unless it's by someone outside of WWE that they can trash. Japan has a very big racism problem too. Even now many Japanese promotions still use racism or bigotry in work angles. So whatever may or may not have happened between Tessa and La Rosa was a work, and that was that. The powers that the people should be attacking are the bigoted promotions themselves, whether it's WWE, NJPW or some other. I saw many of those women calling out Tessa as being women who wrestled in Japan and they willingly went along with having themselves being labeled "Gaijin" in Japan as part of work angles despite "Gaijin" being a racial slur to refer to non-Asian, particularly non-Japanese, wrestlers. Yet, none of those women called themselves out for perpetuating their own stereotypes and engaging in racism in the ring, allowing themselves to be denigrated. They didn't care, they wanted the paycheck. Which makes their accusations against Tessa ring hollow. I would encourage people to read up on the late Hana Kimura. As beautiful and as popular as she was, she was one of the biggest targets for racism in Japan, in her home country, because of the face she was mixed race and her father considered "black" because he was Indonesia and therefore, "Gaijin". It played a large part of why she took her life, because all her life she had battled against being bullied and discriminated against. None of those women calling out Tessa stepped up to defend Hana when they were in Japan and in same promotions as Hana. Does that make them racist? That's a question they need to ask themselves as it's not my place to pass judgement like they are doing. Lastly, I gotta say this because this is the #1 reason why Tessa will never be in WWE... she's never dated a white man or woman. She's only had serious relationships with Ricochet and Daga. Both persons of color from minority groups. Then refresh your memory above about what I pointed out about The Klik and HHH having been a member... Tessa's never going to be allowed in WWE.

She was part of what a lot of local indie guys jokingly called the "George South Loop", which mostly consisted of armory shows, the occasional parking lot show, and even a birthday party in people's backyards if someone paid enough. It was the standard hotdog and handshake start to wrestling. It was humble beginnings designed for the specific reason for young talents to be humbled. Even still, on those shows she usually stood out as the best thing on the card, especially against Crazy Mary Dobson (now Sarah Logan). She was always nice to fans, but I remember in her first year, HER FIRST YEAR!, she shot on a fellow trainee at one of the live shows for messing up a spot. Most of the time because they are too limited I'm intelligence to allow any difference of opinion on any issue. Whether guilty or innocent it's us less to cave in to the little shots because they will just attack you more. And if you are so concerned about racism you should go after all those lily white progressive closet racists that infest your side. @@misterhappy5462 I'm black and I actually agree with him. it's interesting to me that the black wrestler seems very goodie two shoes about it and didn't make this a big story but the white women did. I am sure the white wrestlers who used her incident to get tessa dethroned don't really give a shit about la rosa either. Tessa deserved to have her career tank but what good would apologizing do? even more attacks. once you get cancelled it's damn if you do damned if you don't. if wwe actually picked her up and she got to becky's level they wouldn't have spoken out against her and you know it,

Let's be honest, Tessa Blanchard most likely said it. But why end her entire career over it? I understand what cancel culture is trying to do. Get back at people who said or done bad things but when is that punishment actually over? As people, we should forgive each other. You can be mad at her at the moment but that moment shouldn't last forever. This is coming from a black male. I was a huge fan of Tessa Blanchard and knowing I'll never see her wrestle actually sucks because her matches were actually good.

As a young Mexican man myself, I totally agree with you and I feel like when it all comes down to it I feel like people can change. I have always learned to be humbled and let things go because most likely that person may not be who they are down the line, now even though I don't condone racism myself I still feel like this situation should have been handled much better and that they really should have let her redeem herself. She was definitely the best thing impact had going on for them at the time.

@@DanielRamirezLovesJESUS Exactly, especially considering how much great talent (all of the tna originals) they've lost over the years to wwe and aew. Tna needs wrestlers bad especially someone with a household name and that can wrestle. That's even better. Tna was great until they brought in Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff and they ran it into the ground. I always think of it as you can cancel someone. Ruin their career but that person is working to support their partners, kids and/or other family members. So your taking money out of their pockets also. And now because she's cancelled, most likely she won't ever wrestle again and the woman loved wrestling and was actually good at it. If I was a promoter, I would bring her back and put her on a short leash. No backstage drama, just perform. Who ever signs her, she'll know this is literally her last opportunity to pursue her dreams

None of us were there for the confrontation in Japan. I doubt she casually walked up and dropped the most career-destroying word in the world on some poor, unsuspecting black lady. It is far more likely there was legit heat between them, and that it finally bubbled into this destructive confrontation. In all likelihood, she invoked that word, because it can be shortest path possible to that fight with an African American. Unfortunately for her, it also happens to be the one word in the world you can't use - in ANY CONTEXT - if you want to stay working in show business. Her biggest mistake was that she gave her enemies a weapon with which to crush her. And they gleefully used it.

I've been asking myself since day one, why wasn't she part of the WWE or AEW?. For some reason I always thought that she would land a spot on either of those companies, especially in the WWE. I am sure she would give Bianca Bellaire (my apologies if I misspelled her last name) a run for her money. That would be a great matchup if you ask me and would sell arenas especially in pay-per-views. I still have faith in Tessa that she could still land in the WWE. Hope is not gone. Good luck Tessa, wishing you the very best. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
