yes تلو [Tilawa] means 'recite' without understanding for the sake of relaying information. but اقرا [Iqra] is to 'read' into the information , digest them in cognitive capacity through the means of acquisition. ex: sun and moon cycle , growth of an embryo , etc the word اقرا suggest that it is beyond writing / composition / text , the writing comes later. [73:20]...فَٱقۡرَءُواْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِۚ... you (plural) read what you're cognitively aware of in the Qur'an. so تلو [Tilawa] by the Rasul - then it was compiled / documented - then اقرا for us and Muhammad (personal reading). this is just my understanding correct me if I have some errors.

So the traditionalist view was that the Prophet did not recieve the Quran all in one sitting and that he received it over the course of his prophethood., piece by piece whenever Revelation was needed. Are you saying that Prophet received the Quran all at once and wrote the Quran with his own hands? I need answers 😮

The word Qalam in Arabic means to separate it does also mean pen but that is not the Root
